In KBS 2TV "Mama Mia" aired today, 2PM's member Nichkhun's mother came out as a guest. As soon as the MCs mentioned the drunk-driving incident of Nichkhun, his mother apologized.
She continued, "I'm sorry for the worries that he gave his fans and please just love him and forgive him, considering this another chance you're giving him. Thank you."
Nichkhun Volunteered At Facility For Disabled Children After His Drunk Driving Incident
On the recent episode of SBS’s “Hwashin,” which was aired on May 21, 2PM’s Nichkhun discussed the controversial drunk driving incident.
When asked how he was able to forgive himself, Nichkhun answered, “For the first month and a half, I stayed home and I couldn’t stand it. I thought if I continue to hide, I would go crazy.”
Nichkhun continued, “I told our manager that I wanted to do something and I was able to find it. I decided to go to a facility for disabled children. At first, facing people was very difficult for me. Everyone’s gaze felt accusing and condemning. But then, I learned to be happy.”

The members of 2PM came together on the May 15 broadcast of MBCs Radio Star, and the MCs wasted no time in asking the tough question to Nichkhun, Why did your agency let you drink and drive? Nichkhun answered, I just foolishly drove. I tried not to ruin the atmosphere of the celebratory party by quietly leaving by myself. I was getting tired so I was planning to drive back home.
Jun.K added, We were in the middle of preparing for our album. Nichkhun was having such a hard time so we couldnt even blame him.
Nichkhun thanked his members telling them, Although our agency had plans to promote as a five-member subunit without me, my members stayed loyal by rejecting the offer until the end.
2Pm’S Nichkhun Was Harsh On Himself After His Drunk Driving Accident
On May 11, 2PM’s special comeback program “2PM Returns” aired on MBC. In the program, Nichkhun showed his remorse regarding his drunk driving last July. “I even thought, ‘I wasn’t a person.’”
He continued, “I was really sorry that a person got hurt. Even though I’m a foreigner, many people acknowledged me and gave me a lot of love. I felt like I betrayed the fans.”
Nichkhun shared, “I could only think, ‘How hurt would the fans be?’ When I saw the [2PM] members for the first time after the accident, I was so sorry I couldn’t say anything. I couldn’t say anything and I just cried my heart out.”
2Pm Reflects On Nichkhun’s Drunk Driving Scandal
For their comeback special 2PM Returns on MBC, Nichkhun was interviewed on his scandal last year. Ill never forget that day, he said. I thought that I wasnt human. I was so sorry to my fans and the members, I cried in front of them for the first time.
We had never taken a break after our debut, Taecyeon remembered. But after that, all of our schedules were gone.
Even though it was a mistake, wrongdoing is wrongdoing, Chansung said. We might think badly on them for making a mistake, but at that time, I think that Nichkhun hyung himself was very dear to us.

He added, "I mostly felt sorry. I was very, very sorry toward my members, my agency′s workers and toward our fans. You′ll see how different I am, how much I′ve matured through our upcoming comeback. You can look forward to it. I′ll work hard."
Nichkhun Sheds Tears While Apologizing For Drunk Driving Accident In 2012
2PM’s Nichkhun shed tears while apologizing for his drunk driving accident last year in 2012. 2PM held a “Legend of 2PM” concert that housed 11,000 from April 20-21. On the last day of the concert, Nichkhun brought up his drunk driving accident and apologized to fans.
During the press conference for the concert he stated, “Last year there was an unfortunate incident and I admit that I was in the wrong. Anyone can make mistakes, but it is bad if someone repeats their mistakes. Last mistake was very stupid and I won’t do something like that again.”
Nichkhun continued, “I was very sorry to my fellow 2PM members, the JYP family, and my fans. When we comeback in May I will show a more mature side so please anticipate it. Since 2PM will be coming back in South Korea after 2 years, we will be a part of many variety shows and broadcasts. I really miss the Korean fans.”
Nichkhun Fined For The Drunk-Drive Incident
Seoul Central District Court rule on Aug. 30 that the boy band member was guilty of driving under the influence and colliding with a motorcyclist near Hakdong Intersection in southern Seoul on July 24.
At the time, he was booked without detention when the accident took place around 2:30 a.m. Nichkhun had a blood alcohol level of 0.056 percent which resulted in his driver's license being revoked.
"Nichkhun has resolved all matters with the victim and given that his blood alcohol level wasn't too high, it all ended quite amicably", a spokesperson for the court told Star News.
2Pms Nichkhun Faces Summary Trials For Drunk Driving
Nichkhun has been taking some personal time for self reflection after the accident. 2PM put off their Japanese EP release, which was supposed to be released last month, and they didnt attend the JYP Nation, which was held on August 4, either.

“Nichkhun already reached a settlement with the other party. There were no serious injuries, and his blood alcohol level was low, so the case was settled with a summary judgement (settled by a judge with no jury involved). There were no further investigations,” the Seoul Supreme Prosecutor’s Office released the statement on August 30th that read.
Driving through an intersection without light, Nichkhun got into an accident with a motorcycle entering from the right-hand side which brought to light the fact that he was driving under the influence. At the time, Nichkhun’s blood alcohol level was at 0.056% which would result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
