Sungha Jung Live In Kuala Lumpur &
Photo credit: Karheng Photography Sungha Jungs One Night Only concert in Kuala Lumpur was organized by The Guitar Store. Held at the DBKL auditorium, it was a full house concert. The audience mainly consisted of guitar and ukulele players/enthusiasts, who are well aware of this talented kid. It was also The Guitars Store collaboration with the Ukulele brand maker aNueNue. The concert started promptly at 8pm and Sung Ha kicked off the concert with Felicity, a new track from his latest albumPaint it Accoustic, before addressing the crowd. He followed up with Sorry and Friends which are both his own compositions and then went on to more familiar tunes like Maroon 5s Payphone (which Im sure got quite a number of his fans excited) and then changing the mood to the famous tune from Phantom of the Opera. He went pop again by playing Bruno Mars Gravity and then picked up his ukulele for two other numbers, Somebody I used to know by Gotye and Bad Boy.This was followed by an intermission and when Sungha returned, he worked the crowd up with his only Electric Guitar piece which was Canon in Rock. He was flawless here and played his heart out. After that, He went back to his guitar and played I Remember You from his latest album and Nostalgia, which he introduced as one of his favourite songs, as mentioned during his press conference. Then he played Bird and Howls Moving Castles before working on Tommy Emmanuels Guitar Boogie, which he really worked a storm with the fast beat and exhibited his guitar skills with even using parts of his forearm to play. After that, he announced that he was going to play the last song for the night and by then he had the crowd wanting more. And the crowd were found Wanting when he mentioned the name of the song was You Exist In My Song. Unfamiliar in this name, once he started playing, the majority of Chinese in the crowd immediately knew the song and some applause could be hear. This was Wan Tings hit song 我的歌声里 (//www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0dMz8RBG7g) and it was such a pleasure listening to him render his version of it. Unfortunately there were slight disruptions with the sound system and when he left, the crowd did not budge and Sungha came back for an encore, where he played the jazz classic tune All of Me.The crowd then went for the autograph session which saw Sung Ha sign fans guitars, ukes, albums and tshirt which they had purchased. It was a real pleasure watching this young boy as most of us knew from YouTube grow up to be this amazing talented kid who works magic with his fingers!
