Jessica has wowed people with her participation in the new version of SNSD of the music video for the song called "Catch me if you can"
Following the leak via Weibo of screenshots featuring the Girls Generation OT9, including former member Jessica, in the Catch Me If You Can MV, the music video featuring all nine members, which was presumably filmed before Jessicas departure from the group, has been leaked.
There was speculation that the screenshots may be fake, but with the release of this music video that includes Jessica, its hard to deny that there definitely was a version of Catch Me If You Can featuring the OT9. Not to mention, in this version Tiffany and Taeyeons hair is different from the officially released music video for Catch Me If You Can.
Jessica appeared to have opened up about her life and her future plans after her departure from SNSD
Flying solo has also forced Jessica to take an honest stock of her shortcomings, now that her members aren’t there to cover them up. “These days, I think a whole lot about myself. When I think about how I’ll be 30 in a few years, I feel weird and anxious. I don’t even really know what it is exactly that I’m anxious about. But now, more than anything else I keep thinking that I must live for myself, not for anyone else. Now that I’m alone, I have to personally take care of the deficiencies that the other members used to supplement for me. I am striving to be good at initiating conversation with people I meet for the first time and in general making people feel more comfortable around me.
“I guess when people see me they feel there is a wall [between me and them]. But I’m just not good at approaching people I’m not close to. As a result, I really have a hard time when I go to an event or awards ceremony alone. It’s like people won’t approach me unless I greet them first. I am working on slowly breaking down the walls in my personality,” she says.
Jessica reveals that during her difficult season her family has been her biggest source of support and comfort and that she recently went on vacation with her entire family, the first time she’s done so since her debut. “Whatever it is, I think after enduring a difficult time, a time of peace follows, especially when I look at how after going through hardships and a lot of time has passed, happy moments are gradually increasing [for me],” she says.
On her future plans, Jessica shared, "I plan on going to school to study fashion design properly. I haven′t decided on an exact time yet, but I′m studying hard on my own right now. I think if you endure whatever it is you′re going through, a time of peace follows. I see that because even though I′ve been through some hard times, after time passed, there are more and more happy moments."
After leaving SNSD, Jessica continues taking part in overseas activities to develop her business. According to a report, on November 25, Jessica have a plan to attend her first domestic activity in Korea.
On 21st, according to PR agency Dimako, Jessica is confirmed to attend an event for fashion brand "Fendi" at Lotte Mall in Jamsil. Aside from Jessica, actress Song Ji Hyo is also attending.
The MC Yoon Do Hyun encourages Soo Young that, “A feeling of heaviness is occupying with your heart, but I hope SNSD's girls can take advantage of this time to gather together and turn a misfortune into a great opportunity”. Sooyoung finished off by replying, “I’ll try my best for the people who have kept their loyal and support for Girl’s Generation, I apologize”.
In particular, Seohyun who tried to speak cannot contain her emotions and shed tears after everyone made their bow. Other members showed their smiles for fans but some were obviously trying to stay calm as much as possible.
With other SM idols like Yesung having their own fashion stores and labels, it would seem unfair, and unlikely, to target Jessica for starting her own; perhaps they didnt like Sica taking spending time on her personal affairs, but if its not affecting her SNSD-related engagements, then there doesnt seem to be much reason for SM to be against how she wishes to spend her time. Tyler Kwon isnt popular among many fans, but punishing Jessica like this for her taste in men also seems rather far-fetched; that said, this could be a pre-emptive measure undertaken by SM in the event that Jessica and Tyler do tie the knot, though they do not seem to be engaged right now. The only other active female idol to have married is now on hiatus and her group effectively broken up; SM may be wanting to avoid the same fate for their flagship girl group, though its difficult to say if Jessica had as much influence on SNSD as Sunye did with the Wonder Girls.
In any case, I wish Jessica all the best in her future endeavours. While she is now more or less in the same situation as Super Juniors Kibumexcept for the fact she is officially out of the groupI believe Jessica will remain relatively successful with her activities. Even if SM attempts to relegate her to the sidelines as they have done with Kibum, as a way to make an example of them to other SM idols to quash any hopes of regaining some control over their careers from the company, Jessica has been smart enough to cultivate a (perhaps modest) fanbase in China through Weibo. If no one in South Korea, including Sones, supports her, she will at least have China.
Its been a crazy day in a crazy year for K-popand SM in particular. Readers, what do you think of this sudden turn of events? What are your thoughts on SNSD continuing as eight?
Surprising everyone, Min Kyung uploaded a photo on her instagram on 29th and wrote, "When I call Sica "unnie" everyone seems like asking why." She attached a photo of them having a meal together. Both are looking beautiful in their simple get up.
Girls’ Generation (SNSD)’s Sooyoung posted a picture of yellow ribbon on her Instagram along with text ‘One small movement for a big miracle’ while Jessica changed her Weibo profile picture to the yellow ribbon with ‘Never Lose Hope’ written on it.
Currently, many celebrities as well as the citizens have been changing their profile pictures on SNS and messenger accounts to the yellow ribbon image to show their hopes for miraculous returns of those missing from Sewol ferry.
