JS Pictures released teaser stills of its lead actors – CNBlue’s Jung Yong Hwa, Park Shin Hye, So Yi Hyun, and Song Chang Ui – from tonight’s episode of “Heartstrings.” In the upcoming episode, the two music students, Lee Shin (Jung Yong Hwa) and Lee Gyu Won (Park Shin Hye) will challenge each other to a music battle.

In the first episode, Shin and Gyu Won established themselves as polar opposites – each claiming their music is better. He’s the lead vocalist/guitarist of rock band “The Stupid,” while she’s a music student studying the gayageum, a traditional Korean instrument. Gyu Won is also from a family with deep roots in Korean classical music. The two will have a music faceoff in front of their school’s students and professors. Seok Hyun (Song Chang Ui) and Yoon Soo (So Yi Hyun) are also among the spectators. The second episode of “Heartstrings” will air tonight, June 30th, on MBC at 9:55PM KST.

CNBlue leader Yong Hwa recently hit #1 on Japans ringtone downloads chart with his OST titled “You’ve Fallen for Me” for the 2011 high-rating drama “Heartstrings”.

“You’ve Fallen for Me” topped the K-pop OST category of the mobile ringtone download charts while “Love Rain” from the drama of the same name, sung by its lead star Jang Geun Suk ranked #2.

Especially, Yong Hwa and Jang Geun Suk who formed the band A.N.Jell, took #3 place with the title song of their 2009 hit drama “You’re Beautiful”.

According to Dwango, a Japanese music site, the OST for the drama Heartstrings came in first place for the yearly ringtone rankings of 2012. Second place went to Jang Keun Suk′s OST for Love Rain with the same title, and third place went to As Ever, the OST for the drama You′re Beautiful.

The drama Heartstrings starred Jung Yong Hwa, and gathered much popularity in Korea. The drama even went on to grab a steady time slot on Fuji TV in Japan, and aired from July to November.

With the success of his dramas You′re Beautiful and Heartstrings in Japan, Jung Yong Hwa managed to leave a big impression as an actor in Japan.
