Only Korea Complex Institute of Science and Era (KAIST) and Seoul National University slightly scraped into the Asian Best 10. Instead, peak universities in China, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore overtook their Korean rivals.

There are worries that if the fad continues Korean universities could bedriven to the outer edge of globalupper learning.

In this year's ratingvia the Chosun Ilbo and Quacquarelli Symonds of the U.K., KAIST got here sixth, SNU 10th, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) 12th, Korea University 16th, Yonsei University 18th, and Sungkyunkwan University 19th

Six Korean universities made it into Top 20, yet all except for Korea University saw their rankings drop or stagnate.

SNU slid by two puts from remaining year to 10th, scoring worse than when the tally was once first conducted in 2009. It peaked in fourth position in 2014. KAIST slid by 3 notches and POSTECH and Sungkyunkwan by two notches each.

Korean universities are acting worse in studies than their Asian rivals, and SNU also scored poorly for internationalization, adding the collection ofchange students. Many foreign researchers left the university in the last couple of years.
