Wax explains why she takes photos with male idols

Female solo artist Wax attended KBS 2TV“s “Yoo Hee Yeol”s Sketchbook” on February 28 to talk and promote her pretty ballad “Coin Laundry“.

During the interview portion, MC Yoo Hee Yeol said, “These days, you seem to take a lot of pictures with male idols. I looked it up and found articles on your pictures with TVXQ and B1A4. Why are you doing that?

Wax added, “My image seemed really depressing, which is not like my true personality at all and made it seem like I went through a lot of [unfortunate] circumstances. In order to shed that image, I uploaded pictures on SNS and more. In its own way, it”s pretty fun because there are a lot of responses, so I kept doing it.

Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2014 – February Week 2

Happy Lunar New Year to all our readers.

Due to Korea’s Lunar New Year celebrations, not many singers released new songs. As a result, our music chart is quieter this week and the top three songs remain the same as last week. Girl’s Day’s “Something” becomes the first song to repeat as No. 1 this year. This week it further pulls away from Ailee’s “Singing Got Better,” which remains at No. 2. B1A4’s multiple music show winning song “Lonely” is still at No. 3.

There are two new songs in the top 10 this week. Moving up 19 spots to No. 8 is Hong Dae Kwang’s “No Answer.” It is the title track from his single album “The Silver Lining.” and is an acoustic guitar style mid-tempo ballad that showcases Hong Dae Kwang’s sweet voice

After spending the last two weeks at No. 2, Girl’s Day finally scores their first ever No. 1 song on our chart with “Something.”

Girl’s Day has been getting close to the top as their past few hits are all top five songs. This time they finally win, moving past last week’s No. 1 Ailee’s “Singing Got Better.” With the heated competition in K-Pop these days, spending three weeks in the top two is no small accomplishment. “Something” is probably one of the top hit songs so far this year. Congratulations to Girl’s Day.

There are four new songs in the top 10 this week. Just under the top two is B1A4’s latest hit “Lonely.” It is the title song from B1A4’s second full album, “Who Am I.” Unlike many idol dance groups, B1A4 writes their own songs

Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2014 – January Week 4

Once again, the new No. 1 song this week is from outside of the top 10 last week. Ailee scores her third No. 1 song on our chart with her latest hit “Singing Got Better,” up from No. 18 last week. Written by her mentor Wheesung, this is a song about a woman who focus herself on singing after a breakup to lessen her heartache, and eventually her singing skills got better. Despite only winning a minor TV music show in MBC’s Show Champion, “Singing Got Better” was the most consistent song amongst all our sources. It just edges out Girl’s Day’s “Something” by three points to win this week. Congratulations to Ailee.

Both the No. 2 and No. 3 songs are titled “Something.” Girl’s Day’s song is at No. 2 as mentioned
