After saying goodbye to her fans and her agency for the past eight years Pledis Entertainment, former After School member UEE has officially signed with Yuleum Entertainment. The news was confirmed by the agency.
According to a report by All Kpop, Yuleum Entertainment announced that they have signed an exclusive contract with UEE after her contract expired with Pledis Entertainment recently. The agency, in its statement, vowed to use their resources to give UEE projects that would highlight her strengths in acting and in variety shows.
“We’ll support her, so she can be a lot more active in all areas,” Yuleum Entertainment said as they welcomed UEE to their label. “We ask for fans to continue to show her love and support.”
It has been reported by Kpopstarz that UEE’s decision to leave After School was because she wanted to explore her potentials as an actress. In her handwritten note posted on her account, she expressed thanks to all the fans for their support as well as Pledis Entertainment for taking care of her in the past years.
UEE said that her “graduation” from After School, she said that she will try to be even better and more hard working. UEE was not the first member of the After School to leave the group as all of the original members have already “graduated” before her. After School has an admission and graduation scheme wherein members are able to enter the group as new members and eventually leave when they feel like the time is right without causing any disruption in the group’s flow.
Aside from singing and performing with After School. UEE has starred in several Korean dramas and received recognition for her skills as an actress. She was recognized with Best New Actress awards at the KBS and Baeksang Art Awards for her role in “Ojakgyo Family” and received the Excellent Actress awards for 2013’s “Golden Rainbow.” UEE was also named Best Actress for a Special Project for her role in 2016’s “Marriage Contract.”
