'Tunnel' Takes Advantage Of Golden Weekend To Improve Show's Quality, Will Resume Airing After Week-long Break
OCN’s time travel thriller “Tunnel” will be taking a week-long break from airing to make way for the filming of the second half of the show. Production has confirmed that the network wants to make sure that the remaining episodes will have the best quality for its loyal viewers.
According to a report by All Kpop, “Tunnel” will take a break from airing on May 6th and 7th and will be replaced by Hollywood movies for their timeslot. On the 6th, OCN showed Dwayne Johnson’s disaster movie “San Andreas” while on the 7th, they showed Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron’s action packed “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
“We decided to take a break because it’s the golden weekend, and we wanted to film the important scenes in the second half of the drama in high quality,” OCN said in its statement about “Tunnel.” The golden weekend is a long holiday weekend being observed in Korea.
“Tunnel” was not the only drama to take advantage of the long weekend to up the ante of their drama. tVN has announced that “Chicago Typewriter’s” episodes for May 5 and 6 will be delayed by a week.
Based on a report by Soompi, while tvN did not elaborate on why they are delaying two episodes of their drama like OCN did for “Tunnel”, it has announced that it will be replaced for its timeslot by reruns of “My Kitchen” on May 5. Fans of “Chicago Typewriter” also got a chance to watch behind the scenes footages from the first eight episodes on the show’s timeslot for May 6, which drummed up more interest for the show.
“Tunnel’s” May 6 and 7 episodes will be airing a week after on May 13th and 14th. “Chicago Typewriter” will also resume its regular schedule on May 12th and 13th.
