The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

The King 2 Hearts feels like two steps forward and one step back. I don’t mean that in a negative way, but in the realistic context of how romance blossoms not necessarily in a linear fashion. Jae Ha and Hang Ah are very VERY different people, both in personality and cultural background. It’d be a stretch to imagine them marrying each other even if they were both docile easygoing people, and they are the opposite of that. I enjoy every interaction between them, even the ones when Jae Ha is being such a jerkwad I want to knee him in the groin. What gets me is how she pierces through all his pretensions and delusions, forcing him to acknowledge the uncomfortable reality that he cares about her. While the kiss at the end of the episode was lovely, it was the magnificent running hug scene in the middle of the episode that left me breathless.

Jae Ha is roundly and publicly humiliated by Hang Ah’s written talk-to-the-hand response to his grand wooing. His pride is injured more than his heart, and he vents his frustration out on a heart-shaped pink donut, driving a fork into the poor innocent fried dough. Dong Ha worries what will happen if Hang Ah is still this way come the press conference in a few days time. He encourages Jae Ha to cajole her some more so that she will agree to the story that they were in love but decided to split up because of the political situation.

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

Jae Ha agrees that this is the result, but he cares more about the journey. He is the Prince of South Korea, and hes being tormented and embarrassed by a North Korean woman. She didnt just insult his manly pride, she insulted his national pride. He will not grovel and beg her to work with him. He doesnt just want to dump her now, he wants her to fully fall in love with him. He wants her to never be able to marry another man because shell carry Jae Ha in her heart. Shell be so sad, missing him her entire life. And on her deathbed, hell tell her I never loved you. Oh Jae Ha, you are such a jerk.

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

Jae Ha asks Dong Ha what he thinks about this diabolical plan? Is it too cruel? Jae Ha points out what Hang Ah just did to him! Dong Ha says fine, but points out that this plan requires Hang Ah to fall in love with him. And Hang Ah has already stated she has no feelings for Jae Ha, plus he has only three days left. He consults with Dong Ha on what his next steps ought to be. I love how Dong Ha is like his wing man, but not really completely on his side.

Jae Ha calls Shi Kyung, who is having dinner with his dad Secretary Eun. Jae Ha demands to know how Shi Kyung seduced Hang Ah. Of course Shi Kyung answers that he never seduced Hang Ah, to which Jae Ha retorts that its clear Shi Kyung wont tell the truth, and then hangs up on him. Secretary Eun wants Shi Kyung to retake the civil exams, he cant follow behind Prince Jae Ha his entire life as as a lackey. Shi Kyung says the military career suits him better, he doesnt have his fathers brains.

Shi Kyung excuses himself to pick up an errant Princess Jae Shin. He grabs the check, and when he dad tells him to leave it, Shi Kyung smiles and says he is earning money now and can treat his dad. Shi Kyung heads to pick up the Princess with only two other guards in tow. Apparently the Princess has already slipped away and is currently singing at a rock club while wearing a blond wig. They dont recognize the princess, who toys with Shi Kyung, leading him to accost her thinking shes stolen the Princesss phone.

After the Princess changes out of her blond rocker uniform and back into her princessy attire, she goes to properly greet her security detail. When the guards are saluting her, she walks over to Shi Kyung and touches his chest, ordering him to maintain his salut. She digs up his badge and finds out his name is Eun Shi Kyung. She is upset that they tracked her here despite her orders that she was going to go home by herself. Plus she doesnt like how they judged her on her attire. Shi Kyung replies that the Princess isnt all that classy herself. Oooh, nice way to make a first impression, Shi Kyung.

The next morning, Hang Ah shows up for breakfast and this time Jae Ha complies with her wishes and leaves her to breakfast alone. Kang Seok is happy that the Prince knows his place and now Hang Ah can enjoy her breakfast in peace. Hang Ah eats but she can’t help but look around. When someone walks by, she stands up quickly, obviously thinking it’s Jae Ha. When she realizes it’s not him, she sits down dejectedly.

Jae Kang meets with Jae Shin and hands her a paltry allowance, but she pouts and gets more spending money. Jae Kang chides her for coming home and immediately running off to Hongdae to sing. Jae Shin points out that their mom is more worried right now about getting a Northern woman as her second daughter-in-law.

Secretary Eun is sent to tell the madman that the King is busy running the country and cannot find time to meet at the last minute. Plus Club M is engaged in activities against the interests of South Korea, so Bong Goo will be prohibited from entering South Korea until March of next year. Bong Goo is not pleased to be treated this way, telling Secretary Eun that the King must be wishing to experience his magic, therefore he will comply.

Dong Ha goes to see Hang Ah, who is happy to see a fellow Team WOC member, and Dong Ha is happy to see her as well. Dong Ha brings up the Prince but Hang Ah quickly says she didnt come to ask him about the Prince. But since he brought it up, how is Jae Ha doing? Dong Ha says Jae Ha is not doing well, he seems to be in shock because of Hang Ah.

Hang Ah goes to Jae Ha’s room and peers at his silhouette against the window. Kang Seok finds Hang Ah, noting that Jae Ha sure sleeps early since the light just turned off. Hang Ah wonders why hes here, since there is a SNSD special on TV right now. Kang Seok stammers that hes quit that, but then quickly excuses himself, and we see him running off to go watch TV.

Turns out it’s just Dong Ha pretending to be Jae Ha. Dong Ha peers out the window and then radios Jae Ha, telling him that Hang Ah is headed in his direction. As Hang Ah walks, she suddenly hears the sounds of a piano playing. She walks over and sees Jae Ha playing the piano in the courtyard. LOL, he’s such a douchebag at these romantic gestures, except….it really is romantic and hard to resist.

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

Hang Ah slowly walks over, only to quickly turn around and pretend to be looking elsewhere when he notices her. He gets up to leave, per her instructions that she doesn’t want to see him. She asks what he was playing? He says “Ave Maria”, but she doesn’t think that was it. He suggests her Northern upbringing means she lacks knowledge of classical music, which she dispels. Hang Ah insists that what he was playing could not have been Ave Maria.

Jae Ha sits back down and explains that earlier he was playing the prelude to “Ave Maria”. Jae Ha starts to play again, inviting Hang Ah to come sit down next to him. Hang Ah walks over and sits down next to him. Jae Ha starts to play again and her face lights up when she realizes it is indeed “Ave Maria”. She accompanies him on the piano.

They play together, a rare moment of companionship between them. Every time Jae Ha puts on a show, it’s clear when he’s facing Hang Ah, he actually genuinely feels something which he tries to mentally explain away as playacting. He stops playing ands slowly leans for a kiss, only to pull back at the last minute. He wishes her good night and walks away. Hang Ah looks shaken.

Hang Ah sits in her room and listens to “Ave Maria” on her computer. She gets a call from her dad but she ignores it. Later that night, she lays in bed, unable to sleep.

Dong Ha hears from Jae Ha that their plan is working, the maid who delivered breakfast to Hang Ah reports that Hang Ah appeared to be zoned out. Jae Ha is all smug and hands a blinged-out USB drive to Dong Ha, telling him to hand it to Hang Ah. In order to get Hang Ah to fall in love with Jae Ha for eternity, he needs to up the ante and make it like a fairytale drama love story.

When Hang Ah gets the USB drive, she plugs it into the TV and pushes play. Out pops a slide show of pictures of her, followed by pictures of Hang Ah with Jae Ha. She knows this is totally cheesy and likely a ploy, but she can’t help but smile, remembering her time with Jae Ha at WOC training.

Later that night, it’s snowing outside and Hang Ah goes to close her door. She sees Jae Ha walking outside her residence. After staring for a few moments, Hang Ah turns and runs out of her room. Jae Ha looks back and is pleased that he’s gotten his point across. But then he looks stunned when he sees Hang Ah running towards him.

She runs to him and throws her arms around him. He is clearly affected as he embraces her back. As I think back, this is the first time Jae Ha has ever gotten the hint that Hang Ah has feelings for him, since usually they bicker and he thinks she likes Shi Kyung. Both of them look very moved by this moment.

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

Jae Ha lays on the sofa zoning out. Dong Ha comes to talk with him, wanting to congratulate him on succeeding in his mission to make Hang Ah fall for him. The maids all saw Hang Ah run out barefoot last night to hug Jae Ha in the snow, swooning over how romantic that scene looked. But Jae Ha doesn’t look pleased at all. Dong Ha wonders whats next? Jae Ha asks if this might be too cruel. Oh, you think, Jae Ha?

Hang Ah has never been in love her entire life. Dong Ha suggests that Jae Ha switch to the kinder version of his plan, and just tell Hang Ah that he never loved her. Jae Ha makes excuses that Hang Ah is still a girl. Dong Ha wonders if Jae Ha wants to go through with it and marry Hang Ah then? Jae Ha says no way, hes still young and she was once trained to kill him. Jae Ha puts his head in his hands, asking what to do? If he cant marry her, maybe she can be his lover then? Dong Ha asks if the Prince likes Hang Ah? Jae Ha quickly retorts that he cant possibly like a girl like Hang Ah. Even Dong Ha looks at him disbelievingly. Jae Ha decides to just do it.

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

Jae Ha goes to Hang Ahs room and she lets him in with a smile. They sit down and she asks him what is going on? He wants them to enjoy the rest of their time together, and then announce at the press conference that they broke up. Hang Ah says shell do it, and by that she means that she will marry him. Jae Ha tries to talk her out of it, but Hang Ah says they have feelings for each other. Despite the North-South political situation, if their hearts are one, they have nothing to fear.

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

Jae Ha tries to explain that people cant just live on feelings alone, but Hang Ah grabs his hand and says that people can do anything they set their mind to. She tells Jae Ha to believe in his feelings. Together they is nothing they cant overcome. To be with Jae Ha, she is willing to walk through fire. Jae Ha shakes her hand off and stands up, yelling that he cant do this. Hang Ah stares at him in shock.

Jae Ha blows up at her, once again reverting into his tendency to say mean things when he’s feeling flustered and things are out of his control. Jae Ha says this was all just an act to get her to fall in love with him. Cant she tell? He wanted to part amicably and leave Hang Ah, who has never been in love before, with good memories of a fantasy love. How could she take it seriously? Hang Ah starts to cry, asking if it was all just a figment of her imagination? Jae Ha confirms that it was all just acting, such as the piano playing. Her hug was quite passionate though, but its her own fault for being so innocent and gullible that she would fall for all this.

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

Hang Ah cries as Jae Ha tells her that it was all just acting to him. Oh god, I want to slap him upside the head with a fry pan. Hang Ah cries, so vulnerable and devastated. Jae Ha stops outside the door and considers going back, but stops himself.

On the plane back to Seoul, Jae Ha sits alone in first class. He asks the flight attendant where Hang Ah is, and is told that she is sitting in the back of the plane. He gets out of his seat and cranes his neck to look towards the back of the plane. He calls her an idiot for being so easy to fool. No, youre the idiot for not acknowledging your feelings, Jae Ha. Hang Ah quietly sits in the back of the empty plane and looks out the window.

At the press conference for the Prince and the North Korean girl he loves, Jae Ha and Hang Ah are dressed to the nines and waiting behind the door to be introduced. Jae Ha tells Hang Ah not to speak during the press conference, the MC will talk and take care of everything. The story is that they are in love but cannot overcome the political situation so have decided to separate. The King and Hang Ah’s dad are told that the engagement will be called off. Jae Ha sees that Hang Ah continues to ignore him. He notes that she must dislike him a lot right now, so she should just keep that awkward expression on her face during the press conference.

Everyone is watching this press conference. After they are seated, Hang Ah asks to speak first when a reporter asks about their love story. She turns to look at the shocked Jae Ha, before announcing that she is in love with Prince Jae Ha. She is willing to be engaged to him. The King is stunned while Hang Ah’s dad rushes to place a phone call to the King. Jae Ha can only stare at Hang Ah, who looks at him without blinking.

Jae Ha is asked by reporters for his response and he has no choice but to answer. Dong Ha is watching with Shi Kyung, and Dong Ha thinks Jae Ha will decline the engagement based on his personality. Instead Jae Ha reads a poem and uses that as his answer.

Jae Ha and Jae Shin are watching the news analysis of the press conference. The news caster is trying to analyze the poem to see if Jae Ha rejected or accepted the engagement? Jae Ha asks Jae Shin to go talk with Hang Ah. Sweet Hang Ah is on the phone with her daddy, who wants to know what the heck happened since she was intending to decline the engagement. Hang Ah lies that Jae Ha is treating her very well so she gave him her heart, but she is crying and cant hide it from her dad. She hangs up when she hears someone knocking.

Turns out the visitor is Jae Shin and Hang Ah is happy to meet her. Hang Ah’s super awesome daddy paces in worry after this sudden change in plans. Jae Shin admits to her Hang Ah unni that she is here because of her Jae Ha oppa. She wants to know if anything happened in Jeju between them? Secretary Eun gets a call that Hang Ah’s dad is coming down immediately and is quite upset.

Jae Ha goes to see Hang Ah, but her room is empty while Jae Shin sits there with her arms crossed acting all upset. Jae Ha sits down and Jae Shin lights into her oppa for playing such a horrible joke on Hang Ah. But Jae Shin knows her oppa is a lazy sort of guy, he wont go into all that trouble to play act unless hes got some unresolved feelings of his own. Jae Shin tells him that Hang Ah unni is quite upset still and has been crying.

Jae Ha says that Hang Ahs face needs to be skinnier so crying is good. Jae Shin threatens to hit her oppa for saying such mean things. Finally Jae Ha admits that its all because of Eun Shi Kyung, who Jae Shin knows as the guy who picked her up. Jae Ha asks if Shi Kyung has also tried to seduce Jae Shin, to which she says no. Jae Ha says that Hang Ah is all giggly and flirty with Shi Kyung. Jae Shin doesnt think there is anything wrong with a girl being giggly with a guy.

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

Jae Ha says its wrong, its wrong because Hang Ah is a killer warrior and she cant be all giggly with anyone. Plus she was roommates with Jae Ha, the Prince of South Korea, but she preferred Shi Kyung. How could Hang Ah have such bad taste? God, this boy is so jealous its funny. Plus Hang Ah refused to come meet Jae Ha, but one call from Shi Kyung and she came running. Hang Ah makes him feel like hes got a screw loose in his brain. Jae Ha flashes back to their snow hug. Jae Shin smiles, asking her oppa if he likes Hang Ah unni that much?

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

Jae Shin opens the closet doors to unveil Hang Ah, who was leaning down to better eavesdrop on the conversation. Awesome Jae Shin swans out of the room, leaving her oppa and unni to sort out their complicated feelings for each other. Jae Ha and Hang Ah awkwardly sit across from each other. Hang Ah breaks the silence by saying she understands that feelings can be complicated, whether its because hes South Korean or because hes a man. So why doesnt Jae Ha just say itlike her or not like her?

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And ScreenshotThe King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

Jae Ha replies honestly, for the first time, quietly asking what if he does like her? What can he do about it if that were the case, its not as simple as two people being together. There are political ramifications beyond his control. Just like Hang Ah called him once, he is trash, always thinking only about himself and finding an easy way out. Hang Ah replies that no trash would ever concede he is trash. Jae Ha says that hes always looking for a way to get himself out of situations, its better if he branded himself a piece of trash.

Jae Kang is told by Secretary Eun that Jae Ha is still considering the engagement. He wants to go talk with Jae Ha, but stops when hes told that Hang Ahs dad is coming down right now.

Hang Ah teases that she does want to marry into the Southern royal family and change her fate in life. Plus there is a part of her that wants revenge, but she wont put her life on the line for revenge. Hang Ah smiles and says the engagement is off and they can follow the original script. Jae Ha is taken aback, asking how a girl can handle a broken engagement, and what if she cant ever get married. Hang Ah says she will just go study abroad and find a guy overseas, maybe a rich Arabian king. Jae Ha asks about the WOC and Hang Ah says shell hand it off to another officer.

Hang Ah stands up and holds out her hand for a peaceful parting handshake, asking to end their farcical engagement on a happy note. She says that she was happy during this time, and shell preserve this memory. She wants to end things with Jae Ha on a cool note, while Jae Ha hesitates and doesnt take her hand. Jae Ha says that in the South, there is another ceremony for saying farewell.

Hang Ah and Jae Ha happily drink together. Hang Ah likes this farewell drinking ceremony. When the alcohol runs out, she goes to the fridge to get more, thrilled with so much booze stashed inside. She takes some and sits down right in front of the fridge to start drinking, and Jae Ha joins her. The King goes to meet with Hang Ahs dad, who demands to know where Prince Jae Ha is right now.

Prince Jae Ha is currently hanging with a drunken Hang Ah, who is nodding off. He points to his shoulder, telling her to rest on it. She refuses to fall for that trick again, saying hes going to pretend to kiss her. Jae Ha laughs, saying it was she who kissed him first, in her dreams. Hang Ah says it doesnt count since its a dream. Plus she had that dream because she knew his feelings for her. Jae Ha grabs her head and asks her what she wants, does she want him to kiss her?

Hang Ah touches her lips, saying her lips are brand new, but his has kissed hundred of times before. Jae Ha stares at her, and then grabs her closer to him. OMO, I swear I flushed down to the tips of my toes. Big brother and daddy are currently marching to find Jae Ha.

Jae Ha tells Hang Ah that the Middle Eastern culture allows the men to have many wives. He knows Hang Ah will never stand for that. Dude, just marry her yourself instead of warning her off other men. Hang Ah softly replies that hes another womans husband already as she tenses herself for the oncoming kiss.

Jae Ha and Hang Ah break apart and both of them quickly stand up, touching their lips adorably like errant children caught in a compromising position.

Thoughts of Mine:

Oh shit. Im done for. This is no way Im going to be anything less than a half-functioning zombie for the next 7 weeks until this drama ends. How could the writers of that crapola Beethoven Virus be writing this amazing drama? My mind, it boggles at this incongruity. Every time I think I know what to expect, TK2H throws me for a loop. This drama perfectly balances the personal (a very palpable love story) with the political (the North-South cultural and political divide), but then does so with a cast of normal and functional characters (aside from the villain). I cant get over just how AWESOME all the family members are. We have Hang Ahs devoted daddy, who rushes down to South Korea the moment he hears his daughter trying to hide tear tears over the phone. We have super maknae younger sister Jae Shin, who knows her oppa so well shes able to cut through his defensive and immature bullshit and get him to come clean with Hang Ah. And never forget wonderful Jae Kang, who tries to balance being a good King to a country and a caring brother.

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

Every time the drama takes Jae Ha to the extreme, it brings him right back by the way Hang Ah reacts. She never acts the victim, despite her honest tears, because she is able to counter Jae Has tactics with her own one-two punch. And in that way, she renders him even more defenseless in front of her, until he finally confesses that he does like her. Jae Has confession was followed by his very valid point that his feelings doesnt matter in this situation, its never going to work between then anyway. And that was all Hang Ah wanted to hear, that this wasnt some sort of vile game he concocted, but the actions of a spoiled and scared man trying to maintain control over his runaway feelings. That she can forgive and understand, because shes a compassionate person. Shes not going to make Jae Ha marry her, and her ease at letting him go only makes him even more loathe to let her walk away. They are like the most devastatingly fascinating drama couple Ive seen in quite some time.

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

I love how there are no lame secondary characters whose schmoopy unrequited feelings for either of the two leads waste screen time better spent on something else. The Princess and Shi Kyung are adorable together, and I cant wait to watch them fall for each other. Not every drama needs a love triangle to create the tension, there is plenty of that between Jae Ha and Hang Ah already without needing the manufacture artificial obstacles. I knew these two would never be able to keep their hands off each other, and this episode was so perfect on the shippy scenes that were the result of Jae Has manipulation of the situation but stemmed from honest feelings from them both.

The King 2 Hearts Episode 6 Recap And Screenshot

The kiss at the end felt so appropriate, so necessary, so important in taking them past their lingering defenses. Its clear Jae Ha isnt going to just let Hang Ah walk out of his life like that, even if he cant seem to grasp what it fully means to keep her by his side. If Jae Ha wasnt the Prince and there werent so many dangers lurking out there against the royal family, I can just imagine how happy Hang Ah would be to join that family, with a wonderful older brother like Jae Kang and an affectionate and understanding younger sister like Jae Shin. I want to keep our OTP safe from the evil madman, but I can only hope the story maintains their personalities so that when they fall completely in love with each other, they can indeed be as Hang Ah dreamed could happen, two hearts united as one to face all obstacles.

2012, ockoala.

Korean Drama King's Face Episode 1 Recap

Korean Drama King's Face Episode 1 Recap

By: Dramabeans

We open on a chaotic scene as ministers of Joseon gather in protest outside the quarters of KING SEONJO (Lee Sung-jae), asking him to rescind his order to have the crown prince dethroned.

While the crown princess’ son is torn from her arms and attendants of the court are cut down in cold blood, PRINCE GWANGHAE (Seo In-gook) stands in front all the portraits of the kings who came before.

He focuses specifically on King Sejong’s portrait as he takes note of how his features were harmonious, signifying the peaceful era that would come about during his rule. “His is truly the face of a king,” Gwanghae thinks.

It’s 1608, the forty-first—and final—year of King Seonjo’s reign. Gwanghae is wanted for treason, and though the ministers outside question the king’s command, Seonjo coldly quells the protest by killing one of the more outspoken ministers.

Moments before royal guards would come to surround him with their swords drawn, Gwanghae looks up at the wall of kings and asks, “Do I truly have the face of someone not meant to be king?”

Gwanghae’s voice narrates a shot of a book hidden beneath the statue of a dragon. In it is written, “If a ruler without the ideal facial features becomes king, the people will starve. The royal servants will listen only to their own voices. The whole country will fall into chaos and face a great calamity. The one with the face of a king must become the king of Joseon.”

Rewind to the year 1589, the twenty-second year of King Seonjo’s reign. He wakes from a nightmare/memory of his childhood, where the court’s face reader had foretold that he would bring disaster to the nation if he were to become king, citing his unsuitable features and the Yongahn Biseo, the secret book of physiognomy that’s been handed down since Joseon was founded.

But when the ailing king suddenly died—leaving Seonjo was next in line for the throne—the face reader wielded a sword on the then-prince Seonjo, prepared to kill him for the good of the country.

In the present, King Seonjo is taken to a village suffering from an outbreak of the plague. Those who aren’t burning in mass graves are vomiting blood, but Seonjo surprises his attendants when he takes the hand of a man who collapses at his feet.

“Do not worry,” Seonjo tells the sick man. “I will save you. I will not leave my people in despair.” One of the villagers calls him out for lying—how is he supposed to save them when he can’t even feed them?

Their starvation comes as news to Seonjo, who sets to rectify it by opening the palace’s food storage to the people. Okay, there’s got to be a gimmick here.

And there is, since we see Seonjo’s true face once he’s not having to put on a show in front of his citizens. He asks that those villagers who stood up to him be taught a lesson. In secret.

He made the face reader who tried to kill him pay for his crime all those years ago as well, since we see Seonjo Lite presiding over the would-be assassin’s torture.

Even with his eyes gouged out, the face reader had prophesied that Seonjo’s pointed chin would stab the hearts and minds of the people. Even then, his words were less of a condemnation and more of a warning, which Seonjo still remembers vividly.

We meet a younger and less burdened Prince Gwanghae as he punks his eunuch IM YOUNG-SHIN during his acupuncture session, being performed not by a doctor, but by one of the court face readers.

Gwanghae has full faith in his abilities even if Eunuch Im doesn’t, since a face reader would know the pressure points of the face better than a plain ole doctor. Nice to see someone with a sense of humor up in here.

The face reader named GO SAN performing the acupuncture is called to meet with Seonjo, who claims he only hired Reader Go due to his claim that a woman existed capable of changing the dark fate Seonjo’s face is doomed to bring about.

Seonjo gives Reader Go one month to find that woman so he can make her his consort, orelse. It’s on his orders that Gwanghae has been getting his face poked and prodded every day, because Seonjo is convinced that the only way he can coexist with his son, whom he sees as competition.

That night, Gwanghae sneaks into the royal library to read a book on physiognomy, all while checking what the text says against the features he sees in the mirror.

Everything about his face points to good fortune, which only makes him more upset—he knows that his father is trying to use acupuncture to change his face. He just doesn’t know why.

After killing the royal guards posted outside the library, their assassins use their uniforms as a disguise to enter. When Gwanghae confronts the two intruders, they draw their swords against him.

Gwanghae drops to his knees to plead for his life, and uses the moment the assassins are temporarily caught off guard to engage them in a fight. He’s no stranger to martial arts, that’s for sure, and uses his skills as well as his environment to fend off his attackers.

Whether he’s employing books as blade blockers or his own fists, Gwanghae darts and dives between the two, knowing when to strike and when to dodge in a pretty nifty action sequence.

But he gets no answers from the assassins even after downing one with a solid kick, since they turn tail and run.

Gwanghae pursues them through the palace, overtaking one with a flying leap that sends them both rolling to the ground. He doesn’t blink twice when the assassin pulls a Joseon switchblade on him, and subdues him by twisting his arm.

Only then does he see a tattoo of five dots on the man’s arm, right before the royal army arrives. The assassin uses the distraction to gain the upper hand, and swings behind Gwanghae so he can hold a knife to his throat and use him as a human shield against all the soldiers with arrows at the ready.

King Seonjo arrives, and orders the soldiers to shoot regardless of the fact that his son could get hurt. The soldiers still can’t, so Seonjo takes a bow and arrow and aims it right at Gwanghae, who looks heartbroken and scared.

Then Seonjo lets the arrow fly… right past Gwanghae’s head and into the assassin’s hand, just moments before he could plunge his blade into the prince’s neck.

Gwanghae manages to stand and have an oddly small-talk conversation with his stern father afterward, only to collapse again the second Seonjo turns his back.

After he recovers, he finds his father heading the torture of the captured assassin. The assassin finally confesses that he broke into the library to steal the Yongahn Biseo in order to prove that Seonjo’s face is not that of a king.

He claims to have been sent by the future king of Joseon, the one who’ll save their country from the plague and starvation caused by a king who should never have taken the throne.

Seonjo doesn’t like the sound of that, so he uses his guard’s sword to cut the man down. From his unseen vantage point, Gwanghae is able to witness this as well as the murder of every guard present for the torture. All done under his father’s order.

Just when it seems like Gwanghae escaped unnoticed, he comes face to face with his father. They retire to the royal steam room (I know!) to have a chat about what Gwanghae did or didn’t see—Seonjo seems to know his son was in the room and that he’s lying, but Gwanghae sticks to his story regardless.

Seonjo brings up Gwanghae’s departed mother, who may have been only a concubine, but one he claims to have truly favored. He knows his son is just saying things he wants to hear as he thinks to himself that the only way Gwanghae can go on to find his destiny is if he lives as unassumingly as a stone.

If only he could read Gwanghae’s unthreatening, non-confrontational thoughts: “Father, please do not worry. I will live only as your vassal.”

Gwanghae wants to catch the remaining thief because the one who died mentioned that they were looking for the Yongahn Biseo, the secret book he was searching the library for as well.

In the hopes that he’ll have the answers Gwanghae seeks, he copies the tattoo pattern he saw on the man’s arm so that he and Eunuch Im (both in disguise) can ask around to see if anyone recognizes it.

It’s on that hunt that Gwanghae becomes distracted and momentarily entranced by a beautiful young scholar. He can’t take his eyes away, probably because it’s KIM GA-HEE (Jo Yoon-hee) disguised as a man.

Gwanghae draws a huge crowd in the square by setting himself up to be a renowned face reader, getting them hook, line, and sinker when he uses Eunuch Im as a plant to convince them of his authenticity.

Soon everyone is scrambling for a reading, but Gwanghae doesn’t want their money. He brandishes the copied tattoo and claims that he’ll only give a reading to whoever knows what it means. (Bystander: “Five dots!”)

Ga-hee, who’s been watching the entire exchange with interest, finally speaks up to say she knows the answer. But she won’t give it away for free—she’ll tell him after he gives her a reading.

Gwanghae finds himself unsettled when she comes near, but reads her features all the same. The only problem is that he sucks at face reading, so in an effort to point out something accurate, he resorts to pointing out totally obvious details anyone could see.

She presses him to tell her about her nose or lips, but looking there has Gwanghae all aflutter. Luckily (or unluckily), he doesn’t have the time to prove he’s a hack when the assembly is broken up by a band of club-wielding men.

Gwanghae does the smart thing and runs for it, leading his pursuers on a merry chase through the bustling streets of the capital. He narrowly avoids being caught when Ga-hee yanks him into a storehouse.

She tells him that he was targeted by the gang that runs the marketplace because he didn’t pay them to set up shop there, which makes sense, even if Gwanghae thought he could skirt their notice because he wasn’t charging for his services.

Ga-hee scoffs. “So you pretended to be a face reader and used the constellation as bait?” Gwanghae fires back that she shouldn’t have humiliated him in front of everyone if she knew—… wait, what did she say about a constellation?

She huffs that at least she (well, technically he right now) wasn’t lying when she said she knew the mark. It’s the King’s Constellation, she claims. The four outward dots represent the four guardians who protect the king in the center.

Gwanghae is so happy he grabs her hand, causing Ga-hee to uncomfortably wriggle herself away from his grasp and his quick-fire questions about what else she knows.

Now that his deadline has been shortened to a month, Reader Go uses a gibang to find young, virginal women for him to read—which I realize sounds sinister, but the inspections simply involve him inspecting each girl’s face.

He’ll know who’s meant to be the king’s consort when he sees her, but after a year of searching, he hasn’t been able to find a girl “like the moon shining through the clouds on a dark night.” That’s when a figure in the crowd catches his rapt attention—it’s Ga-hee.

He scrambles to follow her, but stops in confusion when he realizes that he just saw the face he’s been searching for all this time… on a boy.

At the next court assembly, Ministers LEE SAN-HAE (Ahn Suk-hwan) and YOO SEUNG manage to rub Seonjo the wrong way when their only concern about last night’s library break-in is the possibility that Gwanghae could’ve gotten hurt.

Seonjo doesn’t like that they’re so concerned for his son, which he interprets to be their preference for Gwanghae as a royal replacement. If they like him so much, they can justmarry make Gwanghae the crown prince, and Seonjo will step down so they can have the king they really want.

Instead, all the ministers grovel until Seonjo’s anger is soothed. But what he orders next causes a few uncomfortable glances: He wants to hold a ritual to pray for rain to ease the droughts causing starvation amongst his people, and needs young sons from every minister for the production.

Word of the king’s “offer” to give the throne to the crown prince makes its rounds through the palace, particularly to LADY KIM (Kim Gyu-ri), the highest-ranking consort of the king’s, second only to the queen.

She finds the story amusing when Minister Lee tells it to her, and knows instantly that the king said what he did only to test their loyalty. He didn’t think about stepping down even for a moment.

QUEEN UIIN (Im Ji-eun) believes the same, though she has a harder time convincing Gwanghae’s elder brother PRINCE IMHAE of that fact. All he heard was that the king wants to pass on the throne to whoever’s installed as crown prince, and feels that it’s his birthright to have that position.

The way he’s acting is exactly the way Lady Kim predicted he’d act, knowing Prince Imhae’s penchant for being impatient and dim. She lets Minister Lee wonder aloud about why thieves would’ve broken into the library of all places, before adding that she finds it curious that Gwanghae just so happened to be in the library at the same time.

Meanwhile, Ga-hee is in for an unwelcome surprise when Gwanghae and Eunuch Im show up at the soup kitchen where she volunteers(?). He thinks she has an astronomical chart for her to have known about the King’s Constellation, even though she’s told him before that she doesn’t have one.

Their zippy interlude is interrupted when the patrons back away from a man convulsing on the ground, fearful that it’s the plague. Gwanghae is the only one unafraid to help the man, convinced that it can’t be the plague because the symptoms don’t match.

He makes sure the man sees a doctor, and is proven right when Ga-hee reports that his body went into shock when he ate after an extended period of starvation.

Which means Gwanghae helped save the man’s life, as much as she’s reluctant to admit it. Gwanghae all but preens before he asks her for a reward—how about that astronomical chart?

Turns out that Ga-hee had the chart on her the whole time, though she only lets him see it after he tells her that he saw the constellation tattoo on the arm of a thief who broke into his house.

She’s evasive and uncomfortable when he asks her about who drew such a detailed map of the stars, and only says yes to him borrowing it in order to get him out of her yard when she’s warned that her father’s coming.

Unfortunately for her, her father catches her trying to sneak Gwanghae out. Though they only see each other briefly, they recognize each other for being the prince and a minister of the court, respectively.

It comes as a surprise when her father takes her to task not because she’s dressed as a man, but because she was acting too much like a woman around Gwanghae.

Any femininity on her part is strictly forbidden because of her “destiny,” but Ga-hee corrects her father from thinking that she’s disguising herself because she’s afraid of whatever dark fate lies in store for her—she’s doing it out of guilt for her late brother, who died because of her.

“So please don’t worry,” she tells her father resolutely. “The time will come when I will completely forget I am a woman and live as a man down to my very bones.” This appeases her father, but doesn’t mean she can lower her guard when she has to go to the palace for the king’s rain ritual.

Her father then reveals that the man she was playing shovin’ buddies with is none other than Prince Gwanghae, and warns her not to let him recognize her. And, above all, to notget exposed as a woman.

The stern warning not to be recognized gains a little more context when Ga-hee sighs over a jade pendant she’s kept with her. “It’s a relief that the prince completely forgot about me. But, I… cannot forget him. Even though I’m living as a man…”

Cue a flashback to Ga-hee as a grief-stricken young girl reeling in the wake of her brother’s death—a death she felt directly responsible for since he caught the plague from her while tending to her sickbed.

She’d gone to the temple to beg the Buddha to let her meet with her departed brother just so she could tell him something she didn’t in life, crying that she’s not at all grateful to be the one who lived.

Unbeknownst to her, Gwanghae was in the same temple, and was so moved by her heartfelt pleas that he hid behind the statue and pretended to speak to her as the Buddha. “Your brother says for you not to cry,” he said. “Since he can hear all the things you say, now you may tell him what you wish to say.”

Poor Ga-hee wanted so badly to believe it was the Buddha speaking to her that she relayed her message: “Tell my brother that I’m sorry. That I won’t forget him… that I am truly thankful.” Aw.

Gwanghae, still using his official voice, answered, “Your brother wants me to tell you that he is thankful you are alive.” Awwwww.

Afterward, Gwanghae met her face-to-face to give her the jade pendant. “When I am not beside you, this star will protect you,” he says, referencing the simple etching in the stone. “I will make sure to come back and meet you again. So, make sure to wait for me.”

Ga-hee holds the pendant in the present and sighs that Gwanghae is still the same as he was all those years ago, because he’s still a liar. Then she thinks back to when a temple monk warned her of her fate if she were to continue living as a woman, which is why she now has to live as a man.

Cue an almost uncomfortably long bath-and-breast-binding scene in preparation for the rain ritual, where Ga-hee is lucky to be one of many identically-dressed boys enacting the elaborate ceremony.

They’re soon joined by King Seonjo and the princes, all decked out in their finest ceremonial robes, there to lead the formal prayers. To complete the ritual, all the boys have to empty their pitchers of water into a giant ceramic bowl, which inevitably takes place right in front of the princes.

Ga-hee grows flustered when Gwanghae recognizes her from the market and sends her an enormous grin—but in her effort to just hurry up and empty her pitcher to escape his gaze, Ga-hee bumps into another boy, who bumps into the bowl…

…Which goes crashing to the ground. Ohhhh noooo. There is literally nothing worse she could have done at this ceremony aside from setting the king’s robes on fire.

All eyes inevitably fall on her, including Reader Go’s. Hers is the face he saw on the street, the one that’s oh-so-perfectly detailed in every way King Seonjo’s is lacking. Hers is the face that will change Seonjo’s unfortunate features into those of a king.

High School King of Savvy Episode 17 (Final) Recap

After the fight, Soo Young repeatedly checks her phone, and waiting for Min- Seok’s call, but he didn’t. When Soo Young calls Min-seok, he ignores it. Dad asks Min-seok why he isn’t picking up, and Min-seok replies that the call is not important.

High School King of Savvy Episode 17 (Final) Recap

Min-seok and his friends take breakfast at Tae-seok’s Chinese restaurant, which is notably empty. Min-seok wonders how this restaurant is still in business.

High School King of Savvy Episode 17 (Final) Recap

The conversation moves to Yoo-ah’s situation. Tae- Soek says that Yoo-ah’s mother recently closed her bungee jumping facility but as accumulated a large debt. Soo Young takes out her down payment on her house to repay some of the debt. And she is not able to attend Dad’s birthday dinner because her mother has asked family for money in this dinner. Hearing that, Min-seok drops his head in solemn realization.

Soo-young asks what she should do… wait? But Min-seok goes on about how he heard about her situation and why she was absent for Dad’s birthday. “I never once thought that I was younger than you, but embarrassingly enough, I realized that I am younger. I’m eighteen. I’m selfish. School’s not that easy, and I don’t know what I’m doing for my future. The way I am now, I have nothing to offer. I can’t stand the person I am right now. I’m sorry.” With that, he asks for one last chance for skinship and kisses her on the forehead as a farewell gesture.

Min-seok walks away in tears, but he’s stopped by Soo-young, who asks him not to go. Not telling him about the bungee jump situation is her fault. “Even if you don’t do anything, having you by my side gives me strength. If the problem is school, I can help you. If it’s about your father being lonely, I’ll be your family. Let’s… let’s get married!”

High School King of Savvy Episode 17 (Final) Recap

Min-seok replies with a big “Huh?!” (exactly my response) and asks if she remembers that he’s a high-schooler. Soo-young nods and explains that she can’t think of any other option at this point. After a moment of ice cream eating silence, Min-seok agrees to her proposal and pulls her into a hug. They’re getting married.

When Soo-young returns home, her mother has some good news. The person acquiring the bungee jumping facility is buying it at a premium, and her mother was offered a job by her friend. With all this good news, Soo-young mentions that she should just get married. As a passing comment, Soo-young asks her mother what she thinks about younger men. Her mother immediately rejects the idea, reasoning that Soo-young needs someone older to take care of her clumsiness. Well, it’s a little too late now…

Min-seok tries to convince Dad, who rejects the idea as well. But Min-seok’s not giving up and throws a fit, asking Dad to meet Soo-young in person.

The next day at work, Sang-hee looks for Soo-young and happens to see the text on her phone from Min-seok: “The more I think about it, the more it seems like a dream… us getting married.” She jumps back in shock and looks to Soo-young for confirmation. She’s speechless, and the whole team seems understandably surprised.

Soo-young’s called into Team Leader Kim’s office (now Director Kim), and he starts to warn her about what she’s getting herself into. He realizes that she really does love him, so he changes his approach and so does the music. Taking the role of Min-seok’s guardian, Team Leader Kim tells her to love and understand him, even if he watches a lot of porn. He also really likes hamburgers and cola, so don’t get mad at him for eating too much fast food. Haha.

Soo-young asks him to scale down some of the affection since Min-seok is her man and walks out while Team Leader Kim still looks sad to see his baby bird fly away.

Next up to warn Soo-young are Sang-hee and Yoon-ju. They tell her to rethink the marriage. She’s marrying a kid in high school. Sang-hee tells her that marriage is three months of love, three years of fighting, and thirty years of patience. Marriage is not love, but a reality. Yoon-ju adds that if she marries, Soo-young becomes a guardian, not a wife. Oof. Soo-young imagines the scenario: going to a parent-teacher conference because of a fight. Except she’s addressed as Min-seok’s wife, not mother. Double oof.

Yoon-ju continues on with another point. Even if Min-seok does reach legal age, both Soo-young and Min-seok will age. Soo-young will be having a child in her thirties, and Min-seok will be in his early hot-blooded twenties. She begins to imagine another scenario, in which she’s taking care of her baby while Min-seok parties it up at the club.

Soo-young shakes herself back to reality and argues that Min-seok’s not that kind of person. Her coworkers shake their heads and tell her to think it through. Yoon-ju mentions that it may be better for Min-seok to go to Germany and figure out his life there. There are more opportunities and maybe that’s what’s best for him.

The last point echoes in Soo-young’s head as she waits to meet up with Min-seok. When he arrives, he seems super giddy about the whole marriage. But Soo-young grounds him as she voices her conflict. She doesn’t know if marriage is ideal at this point, as Min-seok could grow and find other opportunities abroad in Germany. Min-seok’s face falls, but he seems to understand her dilemma.

Soo-young drowns her uneasiness with some soju and heads back home. Her route is intercepted by Min-seok, who’s holding huge bag of popcorn.

Offering it to her, he says, “I can’t get you a ring, but I can get you what you like most. I’ve thought about what you said, and you’re right. I could do better things in Germany, and I could regret it if I married you now. But no matter what, I want to be with you. I don’t know if this is the right answer, but I want to be with Jung Soo-young until the very end.”

High School King of Savvy Episode 17 (Final) Screenshots

Min-seok gets down on one knee, offers the popcorn bag to Soo-young, and proposes. Just as he starts to doubt she’ll say yes, Soo-young accepts the bag and his proposal. She apologizes for giving him doubts, and he thanks her for saying yes.

Min-seok pulls her into a hug with the popcorn bag in between them. Then he leans in for a kiss, and the smoochies continue with the popcorn bag between them. It’s cute and sweet, exactly like our couple.

Dressed in hanbok, Soo-young goes to meet Dad. She puts her best foot forward and cuts the apples (badly) with special rabbit ears, but that doesn’t mitigate Dad’s shock when he finds out that Soo-young is ten years older. Min-seok doesn’t help much either, looking ecstatic just being there.

Afterwards, Min-seok and Soo-young meet up with Tae-seok and Duk-hwan to brainstorm ways to convince Soo-young’s mother. Tae-seok admits that he wouldn’t approve of this marriage himself but comes up with the genius idea to fool Soo-young’s mother. Just pretend you’re still the Chief Director! Duk-hwan praises him for having a tiny piece of a brain for once, but Min-seok scolds them, saying that he can’t commit fraud, especially with Soo-young’s mother.

Soo-young steps away for a moment, and Min-seok’s friends take the chance to pull his hair out of jealousy. With all the “bbuing bbuing” and “bbonga bbonga” that Min-seok gets to do with marriage, Tae-seok jokes that Min-seok’s going to have to get on that exercise grind.

High School King of Savvy Episode 17 (Final) Screenshots

Min-seok walks Soo-young home and assures her that he’ll be able to convince her mother to accept their marriage. He pumps out his chest with bravado, stating that he used to be ice hockey superstar Lee Min-seok. Their conversation is interrupted by Soo-young’s mother, who catches them red-handed. She addresses Min-seok as Chief Director and invites him inside.

Yoo-ah watches the whole scene with a smirk, as Min-seok goes along with his role-play. Soo-young’s mother sits down to ask Min-seok if he’s thinking of marriage, and he confidently states yes. Mom is overjoyed at his reply and starts to plan out the couple’s future. Meanwhile, Yoo-ah sits in the back giving them disapproving looks.

High School King of Savvy Episode 17 (Final) Screenshots

At school the next morning, Yoo-ah describes the situation to Duk-hwan and Tae-seok. They criticize Min-seok for going along with this fraud even though he refused to go to these extremes. The trio is interrupted by a smitten girl who offers chocolate to Tae-seok. She runs off in embarrassment, and Duk-hwan explains that the girl’s been stalking Tae-seok lately.

Yoo-ah tells him to date the girl, but Tae-seok asks Yoo-ah if it’s okay for him to date her. Yoo-ah gives him a very nonchalant approval, so he agrees to do so. But as Yoo-ah walks to class, she stops in realization. She bursts into the classroom and digs the chocolate out of Tae-seok’s pocket, warning him not to take anything from other girls.

She leaves the boys in confusion, but Duk-hwan notes that this seems like a confession. Tae-seok breaks into a smile while Duk-hwan throws a fit in lonely misery. One friend is getting married, and another just scored a girlfriend. He tries to ask a classmate out, but he’s immediately shut down. Aw, poor Duk-hwan.

At the office, the retail team practices their wedding congratulatory song (“Magic Castle”). Yoon-ju complains about the song choice, while Dae-han argues that this is the best song for the wedding. Assistant Park notes that this is the twelfth time the two have broken up, so he continues practicing with Sang-hee.

Soo-young enters the office and thanks the team for putting in the effort. Yoon-ju and Sang-hee commend her for her courage and show their support for her marriage.

High School King of Savvy Episode 17 (Final) Screenshots

She gets a call from Min-seok, who’s walking through the hallways. Soo-young’s mother also arrives at school to meet Yoo-ah’s teacher. When Min-seok walks outside, he unknowingly greets her, only to reach the realization right after. Soo-young’s mother turns to see the high schoolers: Min-seok, Yoo-ah, Duk-hwan, and Tae-seok. Mirroring Soo-young’ reveal, her mother drops her boxed drinks as it dawns on her that Min-seok is a mere high school student.

When Soo-young’s mother returns home, she packs her bags. Soo-young and Min-seok apologize on their knees, but she’s not having it. She’s already cancelled all the wedding arrangements, and there’s no way she’s going to approve.

Min-seok tries to meet Soo-young’s mother, waiting with flowers outside her home, but she throws them and a delivered fruit basket on the ground. Even when rain starts to pour down, Min-seok waits outside on his knees. He comes back again and again, and she rejects him every time.

Soo-young finally comes to retrieve Min-seok and tells him that her mother is too much. She calls her mother, determined to speak her mind. Just as she’s about to set things straight, her mother tells her that she’s in Seoul.

The couple heads back to Seoul, where Soo-young’s mother gives them a curt approval. She says that they’d better decide before she changes her mind, so both Soo-young and Min-seok blurt that they’re going to get married.

High School King of Savvy Episode 17 (Final) Screenshots

Yoo-ah watches everything with a smile but can’t seem to hide her surprise. She follows her mother into the room and asks her what changed her mind. Soo-young’s mother reveals that Tae-seok, Duk-hwan, and Dad have been calling nonstop with their testimonies, and even Team Leader Kim delivered a fruit basket. Seeing that Min-seok was able to form a loyal circle of friends and a support team at such a young age, she was able to change her mind.

Plus, when Min-seok was playing the Chief Director role, he rehired Soo-young so that she could have a stable position in the company. Even when Min-seok was playing the role, Soo-young’s mother thought about how nice he would be as her son-in-law. Yoo-ah gives her mother a hug and jokes that she should find a young man for herself.

Next thing we know, we’re at the wedding. It’s being held at none other than the community park, on the large field where drunk times and rehab exercises have happened (which sounds really wrong out of context, but it’s true). The guests are a hodgepodge of high-end executives and high-schoolers: the hockey teammates, Director Han and Director Nam, the retail team, and even Jin-woo.

The wedding is about to start, but the couple is nowhere in sight. Team Leader Kim frets about our missing couple while buffing his face with makeup, and Yoo-ah tries to get in contact with them. Team Leader Kim begins to ask the guests for their patience just as Min-seok and Soo-young arrive.

They stumble into the field and explain their delay as ring complications. They also tell Team Leader Kim to rush the wedding ceremony since they need to catch their train in ten minutes. HA. As usual, Team Leader Kim looks like he’s going to cry but goes along with the new plan.

The bride and groom speed walk down the aisle with the music in fast-forward to match their pace. They skip over everything, and it’s hilarious to see the parents stand up only to sit right back down and the retail team to passionately sing only three seconds of their whole song. Team Leader Kim tells the audience to pretend that everything – addressing the parents, the quick celebratory song – has happened and asks Director Han to officiate the wedding.

He speaks at a normal pace, but that’s too slow for this high-speed wedding and Team Leader Kim tells him to cut to the chase. Min-seok and Soo-young quickly reply, agreeing to love each other forever, and finish off it off with a peck. With that, the newly married couple walks back down the aisle to more fast-forward wedding music.

Jin-woo watches from the back and comments on how this wedding is so fitting for this couple. Bwahaha, I could not agree more.

He walks back to his car, only to find a random girl arguing with her ex on the phone. The argument gets heated, and the girl ends up asking Jin-woo to act as her boyfriend. Although he seems hesitant, he agrees and cringes as he speaks to the ex, warning him to stay away. The girl (cameo by Lee Chung-ah) thanks him and asks him for one more favor while he’s at it: take her to the nearby subway station.

She thanks him one more time at the station, and he drives off. A phone rings, and Jin-woo finds that the girl left her phone in the car. He picks it up, and she tells him that she left her phone in his car on purpose and asks him on a date. Aww, Jin-woo’s found himself some company.

Back at the fast-forward wedding, Min-seok and Soo-young prepare to take off for their honeymoon. Team Leader Kim wrestles Director Han out of the car while the guests send their congratulations to the newly married couple. Soo-young throws her bouquet, which ends up in the hands of Dae-han. He hands it to Yoon-ju, and it seems that their fight is over. We see another workplace couple – Assistant Park and Sang-hee – who talk about the destination of the honeymoon: Namiseom. Heh.

Three years later. Our lovely couple has a family… of small baby moss plants. The alarm goes off in the morning, and both Min-seok and Soo-young wait until the very last minute to turn it off. Soo-young realizes they’re late, but Min-seok looks too content in bed.

High School King of Savvy Episode 17 (Final) Screenshots

But they are indeed late. Min-seok and Soo-young run around the house putting on clothes. Just like their wedding, their life seems to be in fast-forward. Soo-young gives her moss plants a quick spray, wishes Min-seok good luck on his presentation, gives him some leftovers, and with a quick peck, they’re both off.

Duk-hwan and Tae-seok laze around on a college campus, and Min-seok interrupts their relaxation with a critical lecture about their hockey game. Tae-seok asks about the PT competition, and Duk-hwan adds something about a lantern. Min-seok yells at them, saying that it’s an intern position not a lantern.

To top things off, Tae-seok gets up and starts doing warm-up exercises, asking if it’s that PT (the same mistake Min-seok made previously). Calling Tae-seok an idiot, Min-seok leaves for his competition. Haha, it’s nice to see they haven’t changed.

Min-seok delivers a dynamic presentation about a sports complex, and as expected, he excels. He’s engaging, entertaining, and full of energy. Soo-young gets a call from Min-seok, who tells her that he got first place. The whole retail team celebrates this news, and Team Leader Kim tears up in happiness.

High School King of Savvy Episode 17 (Final) Screenshots

On the walk home, Min-seok asks Soo-young for a special dinner. She tells him that she’ll make him his favorite seaweed dish… again. She compliments Min-seok, saying that he’s kind of the best. Min-seok takes the compliment and elaborates with some self-boasting. He’s handsome, skilled, and young. He also compliments Soo-young, who has a lot of age. She’s old, she’s old, and she’s old. Way to rub it in, young one.

Soo-young walks off, slightly irritated, but Min-seok assures her that he’s crazy about her. Every day when he wakes up, he falls for her again. She claims that she’s still unsure, so Min-seok plants a couple kisses on her cheeks and forehead. Soo-young complains, wondering how long he’s going settle for these measly pecks. Ohhh, you want more, eh?

Min-seok turn to address her, “Popcorn sister, my popcorn (mine), my wife… thank you very kamsa for marrying me.” And with that, he swoops in for a real kiss, in the exact place where they shared their first kiss.

A montage showing our couple’s progression passes by as Soo-young narrates her final thoughts:

Soo-young: It could be that fate doesn’t come to those who sit around and wait for it. Real fate comes when you discover it, when you take the courage to choose it; then it comes to you as a gift. So with the person I’ve chosen as my fate, I’m loving with all my heart and I’m living my life to the fullest as the cool and confident modern woman, Jung Soo-young.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

This is the episode where I have sadly come to the conclusion that both leading ladies in King Flower are morons. If Du Liang Yen had a man like Terry in her life, forget wanting to experience adventure, she ought to live like the bubble girl for fear of ever dying and thereby losing him. And dont even get me started on Jin Da Hua, a girl with a heart of gold but the brain of a rabbit. Shes content with her little fantasy world of marrying Lin Guan Jun, so much so that she fails at every measure of thinking critically and behaving rationally. If all she can think about is him, then why bother insisting (her choice) on staying with Terry to finish out the year long contract. The man has tried to ship her off many times, she needs to hurry back to her little store at the little market and marry her Guan Jun and let Terry move on. The poor man is stuck in emotional and mental limbo and I so want to reach into the screen and give him a hug every single time he shows up onscreen. I worried this drama was trying to turn him evil, and it may still do so but so far I like Terry rising up to Guan Juns antagonistic attitude.

Hilariously this episodes attempt at trying to redeem Guan Jun failed miserably and only made me loathe him more with his me-first attitude towards everything. Hes like an 8-year old boy in the body of a 32-year old, and how that even qualifies as a hero worth rooting for might just be the greatest mystery of the 2013 TW-drama season so far. Terry continues to have so much screen time random people checking out an episode would think he was the leading man without a doubt, and root for him to speak his mind to Guan Jun and Da Hua. Shes also starting to grate on me with her dimness, which was cute initially because I thought her extravagant adventure would smarten her up. So far shes shown no mental growth and the lack of office politics at Sheng Da is really dragging down this drama. What happened to Terrys career on the line over the botched land auction? What happened to Da Hua learning Liang Yens job and maybe acquiring skills beyond selling items at a corner market and cleaning up Lin Guan Juns mess? This episode showed that the writer is probably at a loss for how to proceed since the drama has turned out very differently then it was initially marketed as, so the questions remainsstay true to the course or walk a different path to see what the journey holds?

Stage 13 recap:

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry sits in his office brooding. His face lights up the moment he hears Da Hua knocking on his door. Chris Wus acting is just magnificent in how quickly that smile is contained as he adjusts his relief and happiness at seeing her after the cat is now out of the bag with her family.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Da Hua comes in and thanks him for letting her spend the night with her family, and apologizes for letting slip. Terry smiles and says that cant be helped now and asks her to make sure her family keeps the secret. Da Hua promises they will.

Johnson knocks and walks in ready to test the waters with Terry. He points out that Terry made the promise to buy the E22 land and now its gone. Johnson claims that hes ready to take over and be a better leader for the company. Terry asks Johnson not to be so impatient, he has another week until the Board Meeting and his time is up. He expertly maneuvers Johnson to handle the protesting citizens at the other construction site in the meantime.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Its pretty cute how Da Hua pointedly stares at Johnson like he has the plague the entire time hes there. After Johnson leaves, Da Hua gives Terry a thumbs up.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Guan Jun and Da Li to buy a truck from the dealer to start their own delivery business. You know, having Guan Jun turn into a hardworking industrious man (after lazing away most of his prime gambling and fighting at the market) is one important step in rehabilitating his character. But this method is fundamentally flawed because he got the money to start his own business by backstabbing Terry and working for the shady man who was responsible for the family debt in the first place. Like, what? Guan Juns money is ill-gotten gains as far as Im concerned and anything flowing from it is all built on Terrys pain and suffering. That is not cool and a totally douchey thing to do.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And ScreenshotKing Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Guan Jun names his truck Da Hua #1 and he and Da Li drive over to Ah Xis and she hires them to do her flower shop deliveries from now on. Yawn.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry and Da Hua go visit President Du at the hospital and the man is recovering nicely albeit still weak. He still cant handle any stress and brings up how seeing Liang Yen married soon will make him feel at peace. Da Hua looks visibly uncomfortable at the discussion of marriage while Terry tries to stall by saying he was planning to wait until President Du got all better.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And ScreenshotKing Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

President Du gets angry and reminds Terry he promised to prepare the wedding! He hasnt even seen the wedding pictures yet so what is with the feet dragging. Cheng Hong pulls Terry aside and reminds him that President Du cannot suffer any shock right now. Terry goes back and promises to take wedding pictures with Liang Yen.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry and Da Hua walks into a wedding picture studio and Da Hua is very unhappy. Terry asks her to please do it for President Du. Da Huas attitude is at odds with her knowing that President Du is one sick old dude and specifically asked for wedding pictures, and still she is all cagey about doing it. She claims hes just like a good friends dad and she wants to make him happy, so treat this like the job you are supposed to do, girl.

Da Hua changes into a strapless v-neck wedding dress and Terry stares at how beautiful and alike Liang Yen she looks.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And ScreenshotKing Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry walks up to her and remembers at his engagement party with Liang Yen, he promised to do everything in his power to keep that smile on her face. He takes Da Huas hand and stares at her, but Da Hua grows increasingly agitated and she shakes his hand off and walks away. You know, I totally respect Da Huas right to feel unhappy, but Terry has tried to send her away MANY times and she is the one insisting shell stay and finish up her role as fake Liang Yen. Either do it right or dont do it at all, this half-assing it annoys me.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry walks over to Da Hua in the waiting room and sits down, apologizing for putting her through this. Da Hua apologizes to him, she knows this is a job and she doesnt know why it bothers her so much. Probably because shes always imagined wearing a wedding dress and getting married to Guan Jun.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And ScreenshotKing Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry tells her she doesnt need to go through with this, hell call it off. Da Hua says no, she will go through with it and take those wedding pictures. Since she agreed to come back to finish the contract, she will do her best and finish what Liang Yen needs to do. Terry smiles and says thank you. Girl, this staying for a year makes NO SENSE to me. Either you are staying to be Liang Yen forever, or you better leave now because shit is coming out eventually anyway. Narratively we need these two together, but good gracious it makes Da Hua seemed so hare-brained. Can Qin Mo reappear to give her a brain transplant as well. This thing is probably not ending the way I want it unless Liang Yen miraculously resurrects or Da Hua get possessed by her dead spirit.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry and Da Hua pose for wedding pictures. The photographer tells them to get closer and they both awkwardly try. This is sad narratively, because even when they are awkward Da Hua still has more chemistry with Terry than with Guan Jun.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And ScreenshotKing Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry can tell Da Hua is getting worn down by it and asks for a break. He gives her some water and assures her this is almost over soon. The assistants swoon over how wonderful he is to her. You know, I never ever got the sense that Terry is so considerate and good to her because shes pretending to be Liang Yen or looks like Liang Yen. He is good to her because she is Da Hua and she is good to him. He sees her for who she is inside, and its the part where she looks like Liang Yen that keeps him at bay. That and also Liang Yen just died. Gotta keep reminding myself that. Terry takes Da Huas hand to point out that these pictures are for President Du so she needs to try her best to convey a sense of happiness.

The photographer asks for one last set of pictures that require the bride to kiss the groom. Terry and Da Hua are startled and he is about to ask the photographer to change the request when Da Hua says shell do it.

Of all the places in Taipei, Guan Jun arrives to deliver flowers to this photo studio. He walks in just as Da Hua is puckering up to kiss Terry on the cheek.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry notices him and purposely pulls Da Hua in so that her puckered lips connect with his cheek. I actually appreciate Terry showing his competitive and calculating side in that moment with Guan Jun, who has so far been the worlds most annoying human being to Terry since the moment he had the misfortune of colliding with his truck on the street in episode 1. Its like hitting two birds with one stonethe kiss picture is taken and Lin Guan Jun gets a taste of some jealousy medicine.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Da Hua turns around and notices Guan Jun standing there. She calls out to him but Terry stops her from walking away, reminding her as Liang Yen that she needs to finish these pictures. Guan Jun puts the flowers down and storms out.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

As Guan Jun is driving home, hes fuming about what he saw and wonders if something is going on between Da Hua and Terry. He is so distracted he almost runs over a pedestrian and has to brake at the last moment. Seriously? This tool runs a delivery service? He operates a vehicle on the streets? And I am supposed to like him as a character? Screenwriter EPIC FAIL.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Da Hua finishes the wedding pictures and runs off to find Guan Jun to explain. Cheng Hong wants to take her but Terry stops him, saying hell accompany her. After he leaves, Cheng Hong is shocked at the behavior of the Managing Director in being so considerate of Da Hua and wonders if hes fallen for her.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Guan Jun goes home and Hu Xiao Fei is there waiting for him. She offers him cake but he dismisses her. She follows him around so he sticks his face in her face and asks what she sees in him? Yeah, please tell me, too. Xiao Fei wonders why she needs a reason, she just likes him. He says they have no future together but she begs to differ. She knows hes opened a delivery service so starting tomorrow she can ride with him, do his books, and work hard together to build a business.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And ScreenshotKing Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Hes shocked and she thinks he doesnt like it so she offers to work at the store and wait for him everyday. She keeps wondering what she can do for him and he says whatever to shut her up. Xiao Fei is so happy that hes agreed that she leans in to kiss him. He looks surprised but doesnt push her away or get closer.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Da Hua and Terry walk up right at that moment and see this kiss. Da Hua is stricken and Terry holds her hand and says they should go home.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry is brewing coffee for Da Hua and shes going on and on about what she just saw. Terry asks why she didnt just ask Lin Guan Jun then and there to explain? Da Hua claims she was so shocked she didnt know what to do. Da Hua remembers Xiao Fei staking a claim on Guan Jun before and she mutters about that girl constantly bothering Guan Jun.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And ScreenshotKing Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry says constantly? Da Hua explains that shes been by the store many times looking for him. Terry brews his coffee and points out that Guan Jun and Xiao Fei isnt a new thing then according to what Da Hua just said. Da Hua insists Xiao Fei snatched a kiss but Terry points out that Guan Jun didnt push Xiao Fei away.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Da Hua says Guan Jun was shocked too, yes, it must be a misunderstanding. Terry looks at Da Hua and smiles and says sure, whatever she says must be what happened. Terry placates her by agreeing that it was all a misunderstanding. Terry pours her a cup of coffee and smiles at how distracted she is. She takes a sip and burns her tongue and he tells her to be careful. Terry says that he can tell Xiao Fei likes Guan Jun a lot, and now it makes sense to him why Guan Jun helped her dad snatch the land auction from them. Da Hua looks distressed to hear this.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Da Hua talks to her stuffed animal and says Guan Jun would never betray her. Terry stares at her and doesnt seem to agree, so he finally smiles and changes the subject and asks if the coffee tastes good. Da Hua confesses it tastes hot which makes him laugh at her.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry walks downstairs the next morning only to see Da Hua already up and waiting for him. She thanks him for his advice last night, she will find Guan Jun and ask directly what happened to clear up the misunderstanding.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry suggests she have breakfast first before leaving but Da Hua is in a rush and even declines a ride from Cheng Hong and says shell take a cab. After she leaves, Terry murmurs to himself asking if she is really in that much of a hurry.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Da Hua goes to the store and sees her mom and asks for Guan Jun. Mom reveals hes in a bad mood and hiding in his room. I ask againthis immature fool is really a main character? Guan Jun walks out asking for his shirt and Mom says its out back hanging to dry. Guan Jun avoids Da Hua and goes to get it himself.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Da Hua follows him out back and hes in a pissy mood towards her still. Da Hua candidly explains that she took wedding pictures yesterday to make President Du happy and it was all part of her job. Da Hua reveals she was very upset yesterday taking those pictures because she imagined since she was young that she would wear a wedding dress to marry him. That placates Guan Jun.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And ScreenshotKing Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Guan Jun tells her to be careful, he thinks Ouyang Tai is behaving oddly so she needs to keep her distance from him. Da Hua says she will and then turns the subject around and asks if he has something to tell her? Guan Jun actually has the gall to respond with a question, wondering what he needs to tell her about? KOALA RAGE. He has a double standard now? She cant kiss another guy but he can get kissed by another girl. I cant even. Da Hua says she saw Xiao Feis kiss yesterday and Guan Jun claims he doesnt like her and she kissed him and he was caught off guard.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Da Hua says that cant happen again so Guan Jun vows to keep his distance from Xiao Fei. That makes Da Hua happy and they make up. They agree to be honest with each other because the more misunderstandings between them, the more likely their relationship will fail. Da Hua asks how he was at the studio yesterday and Guan Jun explains his new delivery business. He tells her that he named the first truck Da Hua #1 and there will be more Da Hua trucks in the future.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Da Huas no-good dad is playing cards at the park with his chums. Hu Jing Biao and his lackeys walk past and ridicules him. Da Huas dad says his luck is about to change, his daughter Da Hua is about to marry a rich man but its a secret he cant reveal. Hu Jing Biao laughs at him for this delusion since his daughter is so ugly.

Xiao Fei goes to the store to bring a present for Jin Mom and butter her up. Ah Xi is there and not happy to see that, and Jin Mom is uncomfortable with it as well. Xiao Fei reveals that she will have her dad order that all deliveries for their company be done through Guan Juns new business from now on. Mom says that she hopes Guan Jun will marry Da Hua in the future, wanting to dissuade Xiao Fei. She claims that Guan Jun is also interested in her so he ought to decide who he wants to be with.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And ScreenshotKing Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Guan Jun calls Terry out for a mano-a-mano chat, and he sits there rolling his eyes as Terry asks him what he wants to talk about. Is there a drama rule that I cant bitch slap a male character, because Lin Guan Jun needs some serious bitch slapping with the way hes behaving.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Guan Jun says he can tell Terry is acting weird around Da Hua and asks if hes treating her as Liang Yens substitute. Terry changes the subject and asks why Guan Jun cares, is he really that insecure about his relationship with Da Hua? Is he worried Da Hua wont return to him?

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Guan Jun doesnt answer and claims he trusts Da Hua, no matter how nice Terry is to her, she wont fall for him. Terry smiles and asks if Guan Jun is that confident? He says to put aside the questions about his feelings for Da Hua, the way he sees it as a bystander, Guan Jun is not the right guy for her.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

What has Guan Jun ever done that is admirable or commendable? OH HELLS YEAH. That is what Ive been screaming about this entire drama. How has this guy done anything that would merit him being considered a solid dude? Terry lists the crappy things Lin Guan Jun has done since he met him. He tried to extort money from Terry after the accident, then came to work for Terry at the company only to quit shortly thereafter. He then went to help the very thugs who hurt his family so that be can stick it to Terry at the land auction, and from there got a nice money payout.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And ScreenshotKing Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Terry heard Guan Jun bought a truck and has started a delivery company. He can barely feed himself, how does he think to support Da Hua? Guan Jun tells Terry not to look down on people, hes not as rich as Terry now but doesnt mean he wont be one day. Terry asks how long? Ten years, twenty years? Terry can see Guan Juns futurehell toil for decades until his body gives out while Da Hua spends her whole life inside that little store. She deserves more than that, she is better than that.

King Flower Episode 13 Recap And Screenshot

Guan Jun says that happiness cannot be bought with money, so even if Terry can give Da Hua better it doesnt mean that is what Da Hua wants. Terry smiles and thanks Guan Jun for the reminder, he actually knows that and is keenly aware of it. Terry ends the conversation and gets up to leave, but not before wishing Guan Jun well with his new business venture.

Xiao Fei goes home and cries to her daddy about Guan Jun rejecting her. Xiao Fei blames her dads lackeys for being violent thugs and making her such a persona non grata. Her dad orders the lackeys to be more civilized from now on. Her dad promises to get her what she wants, and he also agrees Lin Guan Jun is a good talent to have. Hes reserved the Managing Director position at his company for Lin Guan Jun, and one of his lackeys does not look pleased to hear this.

Da Hua and Terry come home after work only to find Guan Jun waiting outside in his new truck. Cheng Hong hilariously mutters about why Lin Guan Jun keeps randomly showing up these days. You and me both, Cheng Hong, you and me both. Guan Jun gets out and puts his arms possessively around Da Hua, who looks slightly uncomfortable, and announces that Da Hua is off work now so hes taking her out on a date. I totally forgive all of Terrys previous little possessive gestures with Da Hua in front of Guan Jun, this is clearly a guy battle between them on equal footing.

Guan Jun and Da Hua get into the truck and shes so happy to see hes put a picture of them on the dashboard. They happily leave on their date (with Guan Jun throwing a victorious glance out the window), with Terry staring at them as they drive off. Dude, can you find another chick to makeover as Liang Yen. Im starting to believe Jin Da Hua isnt good enough for you to waste your consideration on.

King Flower Episode 15 Recap And Screenshot

If Terry and Da Hua are telling each other fighting in episode 15 of the increasingly bipolar but still totally addicting King Flower, then who am I to refuse to believe. I believe with my whole heart that SETTV will grow brains, heart, and a pair of balls and steer a drama that has taken on a life of its own towards the realistic and satisfying ending almost everyone wants. Terry has come clean to President Du now, who is down one precious daughter. Let Da Hua take Liang Yens place both with Terry and be a surrogate daughter to poor old dad. At this this dad is nice, rich, and responsible. Unlike Da Huas real dad, who someone said ought to be shanked. Hahahaha, so true, and so violent. But still so true. For my recapping duties I watched the entire episode, and I kid you not every scene not involving Terry put me to sleep. It was like a narcoleptic trigger and I had to rouse myself to write down what happened.

Guan Jun apparently took intelligence and maturity pills from the last episode to this one, having suddenly become a savvy businessman and great negotiator for complex real estate transactions. He also seems to have cut it with the intense antagonism towards Terry, though he still sneers too much for me to handle. Da Hua is less bumbling or clueless, and her heart is in the right place but still her actions end up accidentally undermining Terry. Ive discovered that Terry really is a true gentleman and a real decent human being. He never talks badly about Guan Jun to Da Hua, and he always looks at the situation and not the person. I have mad love and respect for him, and honestly the drama offing Liang Yen is a travesty unless its going to replace her with Da Hua. I dont even care that shes the heroine and gets to pick her manshe picks Terry or else shes dead to me. Yup, Im done with being considerate and patient, this girl needs to wise up and see the man who stares at her with so much affection in his eyes I just want to yank her out of that screen and crawl in there myself and soak up all those stares. Mmmm, delicious.

Da Hua accepts his reason but says the result is more woe for Terry. Shes afraid his sleazy cousin Johnson will use this to push Terry aside and take over. Terry brings up that she asked him that night if being a Managing Director was a very heavy burden to bear. Hell answer her question nowyes, its a very heavy burden, and hes very tired by it. Son tired. So perhaps this is fate, and its time he let down that burden of being the Managing Director.

Episode 12 dropped 0.4% to 9.4%.

It's the same stuff over and over. It's saving grace is some mystical power that catches the attention and the heart and invests you. Perhaps it's the hot men. Perhaps it's the need to figure this hot mess of a drama out. I'm not sure.

"Fashion King" features Yoo Ah-in, Sin Se-kyeong and Lee Je-hoon.

Episode 13 recap[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap

Young-gul is agonizing in bed over Ga-young's departure and then rises to check Ga-young's sleeping area, but she isn't there.

Why? Because she's asking Bong Sook for a place to stay. Bong Sook is more than happy to have her and get rid of the good-for-nothing roommate. But she also wants to know the gossip? She she leave for Jae-hyuk's company because she and Young-gul fought or because of Jae-hyuk?

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap

Over lunch, Jae-hyuk and father discuss a commercial when Assistant Kim interrupts them with the news that Ga-young decided to work for them. Jae-hyuk smiles adorably at this, happier than a bully stealing lunch money

Director Kim, with some freshly touched up roots, is supervising the work room when Jae-hyuk saunters in to see Ga-young. He masks his true intentions and his exuberant mood with a quick perusal of the other designers' work. He quickly meets Ga-young's gaze before leaving. Kim stares after him with an understandable look of surprise.

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap

In his office, Jae-hyuk receives research on Il-gook from Assistant Kim. Then he threatens the poor assistant to keep silent and not tell Mama Jae-hyuk anything or he'll lose his job.

So this is a "grown-up" way of going behind your mother's back? Oi.

Then in a very satisfying scene, Assistant Kim hands Madam Dragon her ass on a plate. How? Jae-hyuk wants to buy out the Dragon's share, but only for a million, what she put into the company. When she declines because she has a new investor, Kim pulls out pictures of Il-gook and says, "We warned you Young-gul couldn't be trusted".

He tells her that it's in her best interest to sell; J Fashion has YGM's top designer. But the Dragon won't go uncompensated - her line will be featured by J Fashion.

Needless-to-say, the Dragon is FURIOUS, blowing smoke from her nostrils and ready to crispy fry Kim. Instead, she calls Miss Go for some water and agrees on the condition that Jae-hyuk hire Jung-ah.

Yay, more unreasonable conflict to come...whoopee.

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap

(Check those hideous things out.)

Just by the way, the Dragon's platforms are disgusting. They're not even shoes. Cinder blocks with lanyard laces would look better than that offensive pair of footwear. Can you imagine her walking around on cinder blocks? Heehee.

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap

So there's a public signing between Jae-hyuk and Dragon. Jae-hyuk is all smirks. I think that the Dragon is a contract slut - she signs willy nilly with any hot man who will make her money.

Jae-hyuk calls Young-gul to his office. Young-gul has already read the news. The chaebol wants Young-gul to come to J Fashion for efficiency. Ga-young is already here. If Young-gul doesn't want to join J Fashion's YGM, then Jae-hyuk will give him $5 million for Ga-young.

Young-gul signs angrily and on his way out, Jae-hyuk asks what YGM stands for: Yellow Great Mountain.

Nope, the "Y" and "G" do not stand for Young-gul and Ga-young. Idiot.

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap

As Young-gul leaves, he runs into Ga-young who calls him "President". He says he's no longer her president and breezes by. She looks heartbroken.

Why do I pity them? WHY? They totally brought this on themselves. Changing sides, not talking, letting their pride and jealousy guide their actions. They do this every single flippin' episode. How is this going to work out?

WAIT! I figured out why I pity them! There is a wicked sad clarinet solo wailing in the OST. Clarinet always gets me RIGHT. THERE. *brushes tear away*

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap

J Fashion's people are all over Young-gul's factory questioning Young-gul's staff about YGM. In the office, Young-gul listens to the head seamstress answer questions. She says that Young-gul took care of everything.

At Bong-sook's place, Bong Sook tells Ga-young about what happened. She pities Young-gul because he tried everything, even cooperated with the Dragon, but was screwed over in the end by J Fashion. His employee and his contract with America were stolen. But Young-gul is Dongdaemoon's roly poly: he can survive anything.

Gross nickname. Gross.

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 13 Recap

That night, Ga-young can't sleep and she heads towards Young Young Apparel. Turns out Young-gul can't sleep either and he keeps seeing Ga-young all over the place.

Hallucinations are side-effects of signing too many contracts in a short period of time. They're also side effects of betrayal, being an asshole and miscommunication.

Finally, Young-gul leaves to go find some mental help - no, he doesn't, I just wish he did. But I really pity him and my heart ached for him. Yoo Ah-in, you are a master. I pity a loathsome character.

So Young-gul is gone when Ga-young shows up.

RAWR! Stop being such a wishy washy little...GRR. Tell him exactly why you left and how you feel. Oh, and don't go work for the other guy. Go find another job if you're so ridiculously gifted at stealing Michael Jackson jacket designs.

Episode 11 eeked up a tad to 9.8%. It's negligable. As is my love for this show at the moment.

This recap was really hard to start. I just didn't want to do it. The show is so confusing. But then it sucks me in. Then I get annoyed. Then I squee. Help. I need therapy to watch it.

"Fashion King" features Yoo Ah-in, Sin Se-kyeong and Lee Je-hoon.

Episode 12 recap[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap

Ga-young comes back from work at J Fashion to discover that Young-gul has been sued, the inventory is missing, the ahjummas flipping out and Young-guls office trashed.

At the police station, Young-gul explains all the things he has going on in his business to a very apathetic cop. Turns out Jae-hyuk spun the elevator tape as Young-gul threatening An-na so he could steal her design. If Young-gul wants to go to America, he needs to clear this mess up first.

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap

Jae-hyuk is a mess as he's driven home and looks ready to drop when Ga-young calls. He ignores her calls, but gets accosted by her in the lobby of his building. Turns out Young-gul is there too and watches her follow him to the elevators.

I see signs for "Misunderstanding Land" and Young-gul has just taken the exit.

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap

Ga-young follows Jae-hyuk all the way to his front door, demanding to know why he went back on his promise. He tries to shut her out, but she follows him around and even blocks the t.v. when he tries to watch it. Hehehehe.

She came to work to protect Young Young Apparel and demands to know if he's playing with her. He says he never played with her and tries to watch t.v. She snatches the remote and turns it off. Young Young Apparel is a mess; the factory has completely stopped work. She should've been there and she is really frustrated about it. After going to work to be by Jae-hyuk's side, she thought he'd keep his promise. This is the best acting Shin Se-kyung as done thus far.

Why is he tormenting her president? But then Jae-hyuk turns it around. Why is she tormenting him? Don't get in the middle of a man's problem.

Um, what about the lives you're affecting. It's not just between men, dude.

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap

He tries to kick her out, but she parks her bum on the sofa, determined not to leave until he cancels the suit. When Jae-hyuk tries to drag her off, she holds on to the arm for dear life. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap

Finally, he gives up and undresses in his bedroom. HOO-FRICKIN'-RAY! She gets all embarrassed but continues to stand firm, even curling up on the sofa with a pillow. He watches her, I bet he's impressed by her gumption (part of why he likes her) and incredulous and a bit unnerved and unsure of what to do.

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap

Young-gul is waiting downstairs and finally leaves, imagining the worst and remembering all the times he saw them together. At the factory he hopefully checks her bed and then starts to clean up. But his angst overwhelms him and he knocks some desk supplies to the ground.

We've hit the angst, people. The REAL angst. Expect itfor a long, long, long time. It's episode 12, the time when it normally comes in all K-drama. So join me as I attempt to lessen the angst because I don't deal with it well. Or tension. *pulls hair*

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap

Jae-hyuk discovers Ga-young has fallen asleep and covers her up. Her phone rings and he answers gleefully when he sees it's Young-gul, knowing what Young-gul would assume. Anyone would. And Young-gul does. His face drops and he asks why Jae-hyuk answered the phone. Young-gul wants him to send her home, but Jae-hyuk doesn't want to wake her because she's sleeping SO well.

Just imagine what is running through Young-gul's mind: she's worn out from a hot tumble in bed with a gorgeous chaebol. Well, maybe not EXACTLY that. But close enough.

Anyway, Young-gul wants Jae-hyuk to leave his employee alone, but Jae-hyuk points out she works at HIS company today. YOung-gul finally orders Jae-hyuk to have her call him when she wakes and hangs up.

Fat chance buddy. Jae-hyuk erases the call from the register and smiles at the prize sleeping on his sofa.

O.M.G. the angst. THE PAIN. The smirking. The men. The machissimo. Young-gul do you seriously think she slept with him? Seriously? Whatever, Yoo Ah-in looks hot all anguished; Lee Je-hoon looks hot all smirking. I laugh off the tension made from misunderstanding.

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap

Understandably, Young-gul explodes, flipping tables and screaming in frustration. Aw, he's really in love. You tell that table! No one else can torture Ga-young but you! We got it! So does the poor table. What did it ever do to you? Maybe you and I can head over to talk to An-na's sheep for some serious therapy.

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap

In the morning, Ga-young wakes and is startled. Probably doesn't like the fact that she neglected her vigil. Jae-hyuk is eating and cooly reading the paper. She asks for the bathroom and runs off. When she's gone, Jae-hyuk's wall comes down and we see an insecure man trying to be stoic in the face of he woman he loves.

Seriously, just show this side to her. It's so much better than showing the 'vengeful bastard' side.

Ga-young comes out and he quickly resumes the "cool and aloof" reading the paper post. She refuses his offer for breakfast and to go to work when Young Young Apparel is such a mess. He wonders if she'll stay there alone, but she'll bring her currently idle co-workers to hang out.

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap

As Jae-hyuk readies to leave, his mother storms in with two goons and glares at Ga-young. She orders Ga-young to leave but Ga-young is frozen. Jae-hyuk turns into a boy and whines that it's not what his mother thinks. He gets smacked and called a useless bastard for his efforts.

Ack, why is my heart breaking for him? I need to steel myself and say "YOU DESERVE IT!"...but I can't.[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap

(Lee Je-hoon is so hot...but that's one funny face. Teehee.)

Mom sends the goons to throw Ga-young out but Jae-hyuk beats them and drags her to his side before sending her to his bedroom.

Why, oh why, am I touched by a man who made a problem and then offers the solution?

[Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap [Spoiler] Fashion King: Episode 12 Recap

So Ga-young hides behind the bed *titters* and Jae-hyuk orders his mother to leave. Mommy is baffled at how he can buy a place for one woman and have another stay at his.

For once, I agree with her. But then again, his parents didn't exactly raise him right or with any kind of love or moral fiber. Wait...stop making excuses for the hot, hot, hot jerk.

Jae-hyuk hollers at her, telling her to leave his place and mind her own business. She's incredulous that he can treat his own mother that way and looks incredibly hurt.

*Feels chest* Did I actually just feel a twinge of pity? Uh-oh. I must be broken. Any k-drama heart doctors out there, 'cause mine is obviously malfunctioning.

After glaring at Ga-young, mom leaves and Jae-hyuk fights tears.

Episode 9 came in at 10.6%. This show is really bobbing and weaving in ratings, just like the plot and the character development. After this episode, I have no idea what will happen.

This episode was all about Ga-young for me. Sin Se-kyeong seriously stepped up her game.

Special thanks to Hitomiakiko from Akiko's Morning Coffee for doing some spot translation for me!

"Fashion King" features Yoo Ah-in, Sin Se-kyeong and Lee Je-hoon.

Episode 10 recapFashion King: Episode 10 Recap Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap

We start out with Jae-hyuk prettifying himself. Doesn't he know that he could crawl out of bed and everyone would drool? But apparently he prettifies himself, not to go to work, but in order to brood over what An-na said - that he'd protect her and that he wouldn't make the same mistake twice. The image of An-na "kissing" Young-gul in the elevator is seared into his mind.

Even though Jae-hyuk doesn't love her anymore or even care to be in a relationship with her, I do understand this feeling. The relationship was huge in his life. He once loved her. It's hard to let go. However, we all know what happens once Jae-hyuk declares something his...

Young-gul, tired and probably hung over, walks home and pauses before the door. He fixes his hair and braces himself.

At least the boy as the sense to know that he did wrong. But maybe that's worse. He knows and he still does wrong by Ga-young. Is it so hard to say that he had a drink with An-na to listen to her Jae-hyuk woes? I suppose it is.

Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap

Inside, he finds Ga-young cleaning up and casually asks What Happened Last Night?. She ignores him and he asks if she's mad. Why should an employee be mad at his lifestyle?

He understands that she's angry and turns to find the entire staff watching. They quickly resume cleaning.

An-na is late for a meeting in the mall with the president and a slew of other businessmen. Jae-hyuk is uber pissed and the president doesn't look pleased.

Okay, that is not acceptable. No matter what your personal issues are, please take your work seriously. I know she's a thief, but at least pretend to have some semblance of professionalism. Or call. She uses her phone for everything elsehow come she can't pick it up now?

Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap

She changes into a skirt that shows off Yu-ri's legs for days. Mr. Drapery_Jae-hyuk storms in demanding to know where she was (drinking with a friend) because this was a planned meeting and she showed up reeking of alcohol. Is she cheating?

When she snarks that he loves as he wishes, he grabs her arm and shoves her against a mirror. Why of all people is it Young-gul? he demands. Furious, she tells him never to touch her again.

I agree. Manhandling just because you're pissed isn't good. Now if he did that to kiss herRAWR.

So now Hyukkie is pissed and he always does something stupid and irrational when he's pissed. This time he calls and plots the utter demise of Young-gul's business and wants Assistant Kim to hit the factory, suppliers, and buyers.

Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap

At Young Young Apparel, Bong Sook negotiates an order for fifty pieces, which doesn't thrill the staff. They were hoping for something larger. But she's excited and runs to tell Young-gul. In a random bout of slapstick, he opens the door on her face and she falls over. No one bats an eyelid save for Il-gook who fusses over her.

Then, Young-gul starts to feel the aftereffects of Jae-hyuk's rage: rent on the building goes up, loan shark Tae-san wants his "investment" back and the fabrics dealers won't deliver unless paid cash. As always, Young-gul calls his go-to man, Chil-bok, for some fast cash.

Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap

Assistant Kim holds up garments for Jae-hyuk to choose from - the ones that Ga-young designed - and he chooses the destined garment once worn by Michael Jackson himself.

No wait. It just looks like that one. Ga-young, you design thief.

Anyway, Jae-hyuk is happy as a clam when the person on the phone confirms that the Young-gul was indeed screwed over.

On his way out, Assistant Kim bumps into An-na, who is confused by the rack of clothing. However, when a garment falls and she sees the label on the inside, she totally gets it.

She's not so dumb after all. Honey, get a little smarter, and you'll leave him, move back to New York and stop being a smirking door matt. No one likes door matts that smirk. It's just unpleasant.

Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap

Young-gul heads out, a bit under the weather, and when he's gone, they ahjummas asked Ga-young if she has any money.

Um, are they serious? She had to live on the streets before. How much could she have saved with all the shit going down?

AND I forgot to mention this last recap, but when the ahjummas got their cards they asked what they were going to do with them. They've never had cards before. Should they use them as toothpicks? The chattiest ahjumma is indeed using one as a toothpick. and they ARE! Finally, some plot followthrough! AMEN and HALLELUJAH! Wait, I'm excited because they followed through on a toothpick

Yay, toothpicks!

Anyway, the ahjummas want to know why the rich guy doesn't come 'round no more and then, lo and behold, he calls.

Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap

He invites her to his personal theatre, decked out with plush love seats, where a French film starts to play. (Which film is this? Does anyone know?)

Jae-hyuk is super nervous for this date of sorts and Ga-young is completely out of her element as he watches her fondly.

Now for my Jae-hyuk spiel. I'm assuming that he never worked this hard for An-na. Sure, he probably romanced her, spouted pretty words and gave her a good roll in the sack, but I don't think that she affected change in his worldview as Ga-young has. Ga-young is more than a new toy for him, but someone he actually respects and *gasp* apologizes to. With An-na he makes excuses or covers his guilt with anger.

That said, just because he's changing in one area, doesn't mean he's a good man for Ga-young even though they look ridiculously cute together. He needs a 360 personality makeover. He's started with the whole shy-school-boy-in-love bit, but it has yet to pervade his being. In the end, despite my hankering for Lee Je-hoon, I hope he learns to be a better person from Ga-young.

Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap

Back to Jae-hyuk and Ga-young in a dark theatre. Jae-hyuk cries during the film and dabs at his eyes with his hanky. Teehee. Ga-young...falls asleep. When she wakes, the film has ended and she's horrified that she fell asleep and quickly turns away to wipe away any possible drool. He smiles 'cause she's cute.

I smile because it's another plot consistency. She drooled in an earlier episode. Heehee. Toothpicks and drool comprise the total plot consistency! w00t!

Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap

They head off to a lunch of pork and lettuce wrap where he hands her a bag. It's Michael Jackson's jacket! Production on the line is finished and it will be delivered to stores next week. He has her check the label and she's stunned to see her name. It's to pay her back for the shirt she made him, he says.

WOW! Some pay back. That's what happens when you date a hot chaebol. I'm a musician. I've resigned myself to a life of poverty, but if you could hook me up with one of those...

Ga-young blusters that he didn't have to do this and he replies that it should be under her label next time. This is a souvenir for her first project. Also, does she ever want to work with J Fashion again? He'll even let Young-gul tag along.

She, as are we, doesn't think Young-gul will go for it.

Then Jae-hyuk digs a little about the state of business and she evasively replies that the president is taking care of it. Jae-hyuk catches on and says that they won't receive a proper order unless the buyer checks out the factory and financial situation.

O_O You naughty, naughty puppy. BAD PUPPY!

Fashion King: Episode 10 Recap

But Karma's a bitch. The food comes and he drops a splotch of sauce onto his lapel. He's mortified and makes all sorts of ridiculous faces as he tries to scrub it off. Then he calls for an extra jacket to be brought from his car. Ga-young is surprised, but Jae-hyuk is in the fashion business.

He then asks her what she, as a designer, thinks of his style and she thinks it's plain.

She makes Michael Jackson jackets and things with sequins. Of course she thinks he's plain.

Although affronted, he quickly turns the situation around and asks her to help make him less plain.

Slick dude. Super slick.

[Spoiler] "Fashion King": Episode 9 Recap

by: Raine

Ratings rose according to AGB Neilsen from 9.0% to 9.7% for Episode 8. I bet it has to do with the OTP finally getting some screen time together and showing a bit of chemistry..

This is the episode where Young-gul and Ga-young's romance could've started. But a few monkey wrenches get thrown in. I'm sure we will have a whole mess of misunderstandings caused by secrets and lack of communication starting next episode. As for this one, I should hate Jae-hyuk. I really should. And I should think Young-gul's jealousy is stupid because he doesn't say anything to Ga-young. Should. But these boys are too cute. An-na is pathetic. Ga-young needs to step up and affect change herself instead of riding the tide.

"Fashion King" features Yoo Ah-in, Sin Se-kyeong and Lee Je-hoon.

Episode 9 recap

Michael has called "Young Girl" and their conversation wakes Ga-young who excitedly listens to Young-gul's side. The sketchy designer wonders if Young-gul can be in New York the next Monday. Although Young-gul's calendar is full, he agrees.

Yoo Ah-in's English is so adorable. He can even acted when speaking stilted English. American actors in Fashion King, take note. A Korean man who has trouble speaking English out-acted you. Shame.

Anyway, Young-gul is so happy he's on the verge of tears and so is Ga-young. They feel like this is their big break. And it would finally be something not tied to Jae-hyuk. High on emotion, Young-gul hurries into the workshop and shines the light of a pendant lamp on their new fashion creations.

Oh, fashion creations. What do you think of THAT for the name of a brand? Okay, it sucks, I know. But when you say it out loud it's kinda delicious on the tongue.

Young-gul, overcome with emotion, grabs Ga-young's face in his hands and promises that the first thing he'll do when he's rich is to buy an apartment for her.

He is looking so tenderly at her, my heart lurched. We all hope that it's the moment he admits his feelings and kisses her, right?

Nope. It's our meek little Ga-young who throws her arms around his neck and plants one on him - and he responds!

They pull away awkwardly but his hand is still on her arm. He tells her this can't happen between a president and an employee, pats her arms and stiffly walks away. Alone, both of them reel from the impact of the kiss. They press their hands to their chests, hearts pounding and shocked by the chemistry.

I love how much of a shock his reaction is to him! She is super embarassed and jumps on her bed to hug her blanket to her. Come on, Ga-young. Do it. You know you wanna. We all do it enough. You know you wanna... *squeeeeeeeee*

She does, but not aloud. She needs squeeing lessons.

Also, there's a dandy little cello solo in the song. Yay cello! Represent, my sexy instrument!

Speaking of kisses, Jae-hyuk is sitting in his personal theatre (how ridiculous does that sound?) watching...dun, dun, dun....the Titanic kiss scene with Celine Dion crooning in the background. He's remembering kissing Ga-young and all of their cute moments. And then he remembers his promise to protect An-na.

How cheesy is this? We get it. He's in kiss-y mode. Also, did he get a hair cut? Nom, nom nom.

An aside: During this part, my brother, who was watching the Heat game (which we won over the Jersey Nets, BOO YAH!), paused the game to call out, "Is that Titanic? WHY the hell are you watching Titanic?" And I cackled and answered that it was in one of my dramas. "oh".

(Check out Jae-hyuk's duds. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice...)

Back to Fashion King. Jae-hyuk, possessed of a decision, finds An-na at the company's mall and they head to the fancy restaurant for an awkwardly stifling meal. She asks after his health; he asks if they should get married.

Say wha'?! She looks as shocked as I feel. But then again, this IS Jae-hyuk, king of randomness. He has a real emotion and counters it with an idiot, irrational move. His modus operandi thus far. This boy needs to learn to deal with emotions in a big boy way.

They debate marriage as though it were a business transaction. Do you want to? If you want to? Then, let's do it. Then let's. When shall we set the date?

Sure, marriage ain't no big deal... Weren't they passionately in love or something? If he's her goal, then she's not going about it the right way. Even if he's unenthusiastic, she should be. it sounded like they were trading cattleor sheep. Maybe that's how he got those sheep

(I will comment on Kim's outfit later...)

Before they can set a date, Daddy Jae-hyuk and white-haired Design Director Kim show up and they have tea together.

Dad heard through the grapevine that Jae-hyuk was ill.

And now I understand why Jae-hyuk is so messed up. The grapevine? Seriously, daddy? You need daddy school as much as Jae-hyuk needs big boy school.

Moving on. Kim asks Jae-hyuk if he's solved his "problem" and Jae-hyuk shares a panicked glance with An-na. This is news to dad who is immediately curious. Jae-hyuk tries to play it off, but Kim has an agenda and pushes the subject. He ends up explaining that a girl stole An-na's designs and sold them in Dongdaemoon. Where did he hear it? From Attorney Kim.

Daddy is shocked and looks as though he's going to beat Jae-hyuk raw later

Raine's issue. This show really deals with legalities inappropriately and takes ridiculous liberties with them. Lawyers by definition are two things: slimy and required to keep attorney/client confidentiality. What about that strange serving of the Notice of Intent to subpeona to Ga-young...

(Striking similarity, no?)

In his office, Jae-hyuk, still dressed as Beetlejuice, is brooding when Director Kim comes in dressed as...a PANDA! NOOOOO! Pandas belong in Rooftop Prince!

Kim's Panda costume makes his hair look like teeth stained yellow...

So Beetlejuice sits down for a heart-to-heart with fake Panda. Panda finds out the girl stealing the fabrics is the designer and thinks she's a genius. He wants her brought to the company to boost his career. He needs people like that genius girl working for him. Although it may be uncomfortable for An-na, it can't be helped. When CEO Daddy Jae-hyuk retires, Kim will have a hard time taking care of himself.

This fake Panda may be nasty, but his agenda is quite clever. He's trying to forge an alliance with Jae-hyuk to kick An-na out and bring real talent in. Cover his own ass. This caters to Jae-hyuk's plans. Hrm...
