“The Heirs” star Kim Woo Bin has been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer and will be undergoing drug and radiation treatments soon. The news was confirmed by the actor’s agency Sidus HQ in a statement.

According to a report by Popcrush, Kim Woo Bin was diagnosed with rare cancer when he went to a hospital to get checked because he wasn’t feeling well. Nasopharyngeal cancer is a form of cancer that covers the upper part of the throat.

Sidus HQ shared that Kim Woo Bin started receiving treatment and radiation immediately to address his illness at the soonest possible time. The agency asked his fans for their support as he embarks on his treatments. The agency, however, did not elaborate on how long and how extensive the treatments will be but only acknowledged that the actor’s disease was caught in its early stages.

According to the agency, Kim Woo Bin will be concentrating on getting better so that he may return completely recovered and healthy. They said that they are currently working to adjust the actor’s previously set schedules.

The 27-year-old model and actor was supposed to begin filming for his upcoming movie tentatively entitled “Wiretap.” According to Soompi, production has decided to delay filming in consideration of the recent news of Woo Bin’s condition.

“We heard about the truth of Kim Woo Bin’s illness. We are planning to push back filming because Kim Woo Bin’s health is more important than filming for the movie,” a source from the production said. “We hope herecovers soon.”

Woo Bin will be starring in the movie that will be directed “The Thieves” and “Assassination” director Choi Dong Hoon. Also expected to star opposite Kim Woo Bin is “The Face Reader” star Lee Jung Jae. Production did not announce how long they will delay their filming schedule.
