Taeyang Answers 'Who's Next?' At YG Entertainment - The Big Bang Singer To Release A New Solo Album Next Month
(Photo : YG Life) Earlier this week YG Entertainment once again asked fans the ultimate question, "Who"s next?"
Early on May 18 in South Korea, the popular South Korean record label revealed via their officail YG Life blog that the next artist to make a comeback will be none other than Big Bang member Taeyang.
The announcement that the talented R&B singer will be releasing a new album early next month comes at a perfect time. Not only is his group, Big Bang, also preparing to release their first album as a group in two years, but the good news was also revealed on the singer"s birthday.
Soon after YG Entertainment posted an image indicating that Taeyang will release a new album titled Rise on June 2, the Big Bang member took to his own personal Instagram to let his followers know the good news. "Guess I"m coming back It"s time to #RISE," read the caption.
While there is no word yet whether Rise will be an EP or a full studio album, fans are eager to hear what Taeyang has been working on ever since he dropped the fun and catchy single "Ringa Linga" last November.
Aside from his work with Big Bang, Taeyang made his solo debut in 2008 with the EP Hot. Two years later he dropped his first full length studio album, Solar, but with the exception of "Ringa Linga" last fall, has not had a new release in four years.
Taeyang has a total of eight solo singles under his belt and five of those reached number one on South Korea"s GaOn music chart. Earlier this year he also teamed up with Japanese rapper M-Flo for the song "Go Crazy."
Stay tuned for more updates about Taeyang"s new solo project as June 2 draws near!
After teasing “WHO’S NEXT” two days ago, YG Entertainment blog has now revealed that it would be Taeyang with a new solo album. Titled “RISE,” it is scheduled for release on June 2.
One of the songs we can expect to see on the album is “1AM,” a song which a revealed last year at his Music Experiment in San Francisco last year.
Earlier, YG also shared a picture celebrating Taeyang’s May 18 birthday. He turns 26 this year!
Exciting news for Taeyang fans. Looks like we will have to wait a little long for the debut of WINNER, and comebacks for PSY and BIGBANG. 2NE1 will also be releasing a music video for “Gotta Be You” on May 21 to celebrate their fifth anniversary since debut.
JYJ's Junsu is going to release a special album for his musical 'December'.

2013 is shaping up to be a big year for solo releases from Big Bang members, as Taeyang prepares to become the third member of the group to release his own album on Nov. 1. 2013 is shaping up to be a big year for solo releases from Big Bang members, as Taeyang prepares to become the third member of the group to release his own album in South Korea after Seungri's "Let's Talk About Love" dropped in August and G-Dragon's two-part "Coup D'Etat came out in September.
Additionally, Big Bang singer Daesang released his first solo album "D'scover" in Japan, back in February.
Taeyang's new solo album, his first in three years, is scheduled for release on Nov. 1.
According to a press release on Wednesday from Big Bang's record label YG Entertainment, the label had originally planned to release the album in September.
"Taeyang paid extra attention and care to the preparations for the new solo album, [so we decided to] delay the release schedule by about two months." the YG statement read.
"It is known that Taeyang has been preparing for his new solo album for a long time, in cooperation with both Korean and foreign musicians."
In an interview for this month's issue of the Korean edition of Elle Magazine, Taeyang talked about his hopes for the new record.
"I think no one will be bored listening to my music," said the 25-year-old singer.
"I've got this thing that I really want to do, then I came to have such a great desire to express what I want."
Taeyang also recalled his experience as a mentor to the aspiring artists on "WIN: Who Is Next" a reality show produced by YG Entertainment that allows audience members to select from two different boy bands competing for a record contract with the label.
The Big Bang band member was reminded of his early days as a 12-year-old aspiring performer participating, along with G-Dragon, in YG's famous trainee program.
"From the point when I decided to be a musician, I was desperate," Taeyang said.
"It was hard as a trainee, but looking back, I had the purest passion in those days. So I feel good when I see trainees now."
According to a September 25 report by several K-pop industry officials, Taeyang, a member of Big Bang, will release his second studio solo album in October with two lead songs. Its been three years since he released his first solo album, Sola, in July 2010. The lead song of that album was “I Need A Girl,” an RB dance number.
Taeyang shot a music video of one of the two lead songs just before the Harvest Moon Festival (Chuseok in Korean) holidays began and will shoot another one soon. An official from the music industry says, “Taeyang is working on the last part of his album. The official release date was postponed several days because he is devoting himself to producing the album on his own. He will perform soon because the first music video of one of the two lead songs has been shot already. He may release the new album in the midst of October.”
Because Seung Ri and G-dragon, other members of Big Bang, have successfully released solo albums, Taeyang’s new album is drawing public interest in how successful his new album will be.
Eminem New Album 2013 Release Date May Be Labor Day; Eminem Will `Leak’ New Sounds in New York City on Aug. 7 at Secret 'G-Shock the World' Party
, Eminem, new album, 2013, Release Date, labor day
Eminem Eminems new album 2013 release date isnt official, but Mstars is speculating on a countdown to Labor Day, Sept. 2, as the big day. A Labor Day release would put it right after Eminem comes back from his mini-tour of Europe that Slim Shady has scheduled for August.
But thats Europe. Here in America Eminem fans will be hearing some new tunes on Aug. 7 in New York City. Eminem is slated to play the Shock the World party for G-Shock right before he heads out for the European dates. Vibe says Eminem will play G-Shock's "Shock The World" at a top-secret location along with DJ Mick Boogie and Yelawolf, who is on Eminems label, Shady Records. Eminem played for G-Shock last year.
Eminems Labor Day due date is still speculation at this point. It seems every holiday is a good excuse for Eminem new album rumors. There was speculation that the Eminems new album for 2013 would be released on Memorial Day. But Memorial Day came and went and there were no Slim Shady sounds. Anticipation was high for a July 4 Eminem release date. But all we got was pictures of Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, who recently massacred an Eminem rap at a concert in his hometown of Detroit
Eminems hype man, Mr. Porter, keeps telling fans to calm down, relax, chill. Dont rush art. Eminems kept busy, producing Skyler Grays debut solo album and recording sounds for Big Sean. But nothing from Eminem himself.
