For this edition of Who Wore It Better, we have a three-way battle! Actress Lee Min Jung, SECRET"s Sunhwa, and miss A"s Suzy were all seen wearing the same belted, black, off-the-shoulder, baby doll dress by KOSOYOUNG. So, let"s take a look at which beauty wore it best!
Lee Min Jung wore this piece to the "Cunning Single Lady" press conference. She accessorized with statement earrings and stacked rings. She paired the outfit with black-and-gold pumps and wore her hair in a loose up-do, accentuating her bare shoulders.
Sunhwa, on the other hand, was seen wearing this piece in her drama, "Marriage Not Dating." She went for the all-black look with strappy heels. Her wrists were adorned with bangles, and she carried a color-pop clutch, also opting for perfect, loose barrel curls.
Suzy went for a minimalist chic theme during her appearance on "I"m a Man." She wore nude pumps and went for an all-natural look with her loose, flowing long hair and subtle make-up.
All three girls look gorgeous, and I definitely like parts of all three outfits. I always love the natural look--Suzy"s natural beauty really shines. On the other hand, I like how Sunhwa went for all-black and used her clutch as her statement piece. But if I had to choose a "winner," I would have to go with Lee Min Jung. Her hair is flawless and really makes the look, although I would have preferred Suzy"s simple pumps and Sunhwa"s use of color over the gold studded open-toe pumps.
However, it is undeniable that it"s hard to go wrong with these three fashionistas. I actually want to say everyone wins on this one...
So, who do you think wore it best? Vote below!
Will A Pink"s Jung Eun Ji be the next female k-pop idol to become a k-drama star? Her roles have been getting bigger and some compare her star potential to that of Miss A"s Suzy Bae.
Suzy Bae was last year"s most successful singer-actress. Suzy was already popular for her roles in the drama "Dream High" and the film "Architecture 101," when she took the role of warrior Dam Ye Wol in the 2013 drama "Gu Family Book." After winning praise for her performance she received so many offers for commercials that she became known as the "queen of commercials."
Alone and together with the fellow members of miss A, she modeled in ads for yogurt, shoes, school bags and vitamin drinks.
Other female k-pop idols that aced the transition include Girls Generation"s Im Yoona, who appeared in "The Prime Minister and I" and IU, who starred in "Pretty Man."
And then there are the actresses who became so famous that people forgot they ever sang, like Baby V.O.X"s Yoon Eun Hye or Sugar"s Hwang Jung Eum.
With Jung Eun Ji"s role in the new drama "Trot Lovers" it is possible that she could be the next idol actress star and start getting endorsement deals.
In "Trot Lovers," Jung Eun Ji plays Choi Choon Hee, a young woman wants to be a trot singer. She gets career help from an arrogant musician, played by Ji Hyun Woo. He hates trot music and considers it old fashioned and lacking in class. But he winds up helping her anyway and she becomes a star. Completing the drama"s love triangle is a talent agent played by Shin Sung Rok.
Why are the odds in favor of Jung Eun Ji becoming an even bigger star?
As an actress Jung Eun Ji has been full of surprises. Jung Eun Ji joined A Pink in 2010 but has only been acting for two years. Her first role was playing the sassy fan girl Sung Shi Won in "Reply 1997" and her comic performance was praised as being impressive for a newcomer. That role won her a Baeksang Arts Award for Best New TV Actress.
She then had a supporting role in the melodrama "That Winter The Wind Blows," which won her Best Performance at the APAN Star Awards and a New Star Award at the SBS Drama Awards. She also had a cameo in "Reply 1994."
She spoke to enewsworld while she was filming "Reply 1997" and admitted that she never had an acting lesson.
"I"ve never learned how to act," she said. "I did get one lesson from a teacher right before the drama started, but I looked unnatural because I was imitating the teacher."
Check her out in the new drama and let us know what you think?
Who will become the next Suzy?
According to No Cut News, although many male idol singers have been appearing in dramas, actresses are the ones that have played the main characters in dramas. However, many broadcast companies have seen potential in female idols that they have started supporting them by giving them the role of the main character.
A good example of this would be A Pink’s Jung Eun Ji. Jung Eun Ji will be appearing on KBS 2TV’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama, “Trot Lovers” as one of the main characters.
Jung Eun Ji debuted as an actress in 2012 through tvN’s drama, “Reply 1997.” At the time, she gained popularity through her use of dialect and playing the part of the bubbly, female student.
However, she did have her downfall. After the success of “Reply 1997,” she appeared in SBS’s popular drama, “That Winter, the Wind Blows,” but many viewers expressed that her acting was awkward for not using any dialect. That’s why, “Trot Lovers” will be the drama where Jung Eun Ji will be re-evaluated as an “acting dol.”
Secret’s Han Sun Hwa and SISTAR’s Dasom are not that far behind from Jung Eun Ji.
Han Sun Hwa appeared in SBS’s “God’s Gift-14 Days,” making her known as an “acting dol.” The unexpected transformation of Han Sun Hwa is the result from appearing in this drama.
Dasom appeared in KBS 1TV’s “Melody of Love,” which ended not too long ago. This was her first time playing the lead character and she was able to show her stable acting abilities. Despite of the fact that several viewers said her facial expressions were awkward, through her acting, the viewer ratings went over 20% until the end of the drama.
Many female idol singers have tried acting, but there’s only a handful of “acting dols” who appeared in a drama as the lead. miss A’s Suzy, IU, and Girls’ Generation’s YoonA have risen to the status of acting a lead character.
For that reason, Jung Eun Ji, Han Sun Hwa, and Dasom are playing an important role for the broadcasting companies who are short on casting actresses in their 20s.
However, there are negative opinions regarding idols acting in dramas.
The Cultural Critic, Ha Jae Geun, did a phone interview with CBS No Cut News and explained that, “There really aren’t any eye-popping actresses and that’s why people are saying that broadcasting companies are going through a ‘20s actress famine.’ That’s why we need rookie actresses. Since idols are becoming popular as an actor, many are casting rookie actresses from female idol groups. If they were to cast idols who are already popular, then it will become a big issue in the beginning; it helps with promoting the drama and selling the copyrights internationally.”
He continued on by saying, “However, if broadcast companies use idol singers just for their popularity and not train them to become better actors, then that’s not good. I’m worried that the drama’s standards and an actor’s acting abilities will become lower.”
If you can have a live-action version of Disney’s animated film “Frozen,” who would you pick for the roles?
Film magazine “Max Movie” ran a Disney theme edition for its March issue. It asked readers about their favorite Disney classic and which character was their favorite princess. It also asked its readers to pick which celebrities they would like to see play the role of Anna in “Frozen.” Krystal of f(x) placed third with 13%, Suzy of miss A placed second with 18%, and actress Kim Yoo Jung placed first with 27%.
For the role of Elsa, Girls’ Generation‘s Jessica and actress Han Ye Seul tied for third, figure-skater Kim Yu Na placed second, and Amanda Seyfried placed first.
Soompiers, who would you pick to play Anna and Elsa?

miss A Suzy Receives Roses to Celebrate Adulthood Day A Pink's Jung Eun JiSon Na Eun at Meet The Family - HAZZYS ‘Big H Run’ Event on April 24, 2013The third Monday in May is the day that many Korean teens celebrate becoming adults.
This year, those celebrating adulthood will include two singersturned kdrama stars. The two celebrities are miss A's Suzy, who iscurrently starring as Dam Yeo Wool in "Gu Family Book," and A Pink'sJung Eun Ji, who was most recently seen as Moon Hee Sun in "That WinterThe Wind Blows."
All Korean young adults who come of age in the calendar year get tocelebrate their adulthood on that day even if they have not yet hadtheir birthdays. The age of adulthood used to be 20. However, the lawwas recently changed, lowering the age to 19. Beginning this year, anyone born before July 1, 1994 is also officially legal.
The holiday was traditionally celebrated by women wearing the kind ofclothes you may have seen in historical dramas. Women wore traditionaldresses known as hanboks, arranged their hair into a chignon and toppedtheir hair with bridal crowns called jokduri. Men traditionally worefull-dress attire, which includes a gat, the Korean hat made from bambooand horsehair.
But these days, dressing up in traditional clothes is rare. Mostyoung Koreans celebrate the day by going on a date and exchanging giftssuch as perfume or roses. A lucky boyfriend might get a kiss.
Coming of age in Korea is a big deal because it means that the youngperson can choose whom they will marry. If they want to, they arelegally allowed to drink and smoke. They can also vote and drive.
Suzy Bae, who officially comes of age today, already has a career that many adult actresses would be proud of.
She is currently appearing in Gu Family Book but already has severaldramas to her credit. She starred as Go Hye-mi in "Dream High" and JangMa Ri in "Big." She also played Young Yang Seo Yeon in the film"Architecture 101."
Jung Eun Ji made her acting debut as Sung Shi Won in "Reply 1997."She made her stage debut in the Hollywood film-turned-musical, "LegallyBlonde."
Also turning legal today is SHINee's Taemin, who is currentlyappearing on the variety show "We Got Married," where he is paired upwith his pretend wife A Pink's Na Eun.
Congratulations to Suzy Bae, Jung Eun Ji and Taemin and best wishes for continued success.
miss As Suzy and Seo In Guk have caught the eyes of veteran diva Uhm Jung Hwa, and she has nothing but good things to say about the two singer-turned-actors!
As a singer-turned-actor herself, Uhm Jung Hwa shared in an interview, Early in my career, there were few people who were both singers and actors. Because I might get the response Why is a singer acting?, I purposely tried to be different. When I stood on stage as a singer, I would put on heavy makeup, wear a wig, or contact lenses. I intentionally tried to overdo it. But nowadays, it seems like the public readily accepts singers who also act.
Singers have a good foundation in expressing their emotions, so I think they also act well. There are a lot of singers in the entertainment industry who can act. Expressing emotions is important when acting, and in Suzys case, her portrayal of emotions is good. She naturally acts well. I also like Seo In Guk because he can act.
Suzy is currently starring in the #1 Monday-Tuesday MBC drama Book of the House of Gu, and Seo In Guk previously made a name for himself as an actor in the hit drama Reply 1997.
