‘Strong Heart’ to possibly change format in February, 2013

SBS‘ ‘Strong Heart‘ is reported to change its format beginning in February, 2013.

According to some SBS officials, the current PD of the show, Park Sang Hyuk, will be going overseas and a new PD will be replacing him starting on January 15th, as a result, the show will be changing.

SBS stated, “PD Park will be directing until early January, and PD Shin Hyo Jung will be taking his place. After we finish airing all the ‘Strong Heart’ recordings, there’s a possibility that ‘Strong Heart’ may change its format as new rival pilot programs will be airing in the same timeslot as ‘Strong Heart’. We’ll be giving concrete details on the new ‘Strong Heart’ by mid-January. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet on the format change, or if we’ll be changing MCs. It will be determined after further internal discussion.

Lee Seung Gi reveals his thoughts after Kang Ho Dong left Strong Heart

Lee Seung Gi reveals his thoughts after Kang Ho Dong left Strong Heart

Although Lee Seung Gi did an amazing job as the sole MC of “Strong Heart” after Kang Ho Dong”s leave, he revealed that it wasn”t as easy as it appeared and he felt like running away several times because of the responsibility and pressure.

On the April 14th broadcast of Lee Sun Hee‘s special on SBS‘ ‘Healing Camp’, Lee Seung Gi opened up about suddenly taking on the role as ‘Strong Heart’s only MC. He said, ”Also being a main MC at such a young age… Personally, I think I especially had a really difficult time when Kang Ho Dong wasn’t there for a short time. I wanted to run away a couple of times a day. Around 20 to 25 guests come on, and bringing the celebrities together and carrying [the show] by myself was extremely difficult because I wasn’t prepared for it.”

He went on, “Since I haven’t been doing variety shows for about two years and I reflected on myself when I used to do a lot of variety shows and was active, there are times when I feel like I had really competitive sense when it comes to things I say. I felt pride that if I do it, I will be the best at, it but that wasn’t it. Once I left and took a hiatus… I felt like I exhausted myself during the course of only two to three years. But [in the case of Lee Kyung Kyu sunbaenim], doing this comedy route consistently for 30 years is very [impressive].”

MC Lee Kyung Kyu joked, “It’s not that hard. Because if the show does well, it’s my doing, and if it does bad, it’s your fault. If you have that perspective, it’s comfortable. If it does well, I take the credit, but if it does bad, I say, what’s wrong with the guest who came on today,” bringing everyone on set to laughter.

Lee Seung Gi said, “When I first started variety shows through KBS2’s 1 Night 2 Days, it went really well. So I felt pressured for my next variety show.”

Lee Seung Gi explained, “There were about 20 guest celebrities. It was very difficult to host a show with all of them when I wasn’t prepared enough to do that.”

After confessing that he was able to look back at himself while doing variety shows for the past two years, Lee Seung Gi said, “There was a point when I thought that my abilities and senses were superior to others. But that was arrogance. I feel like I used it all up in two to three years but I think it’s amazing that you’re doing this for 30 years continuously,” as he showed his respect to Lee Kyung Kyu.

Lee Seung Gi Says Hes a Strong Heart in Relationships

Lee Seung Gi Says He’s a ‘Strong Heart’ in Relationships Actor/singer Lee Seung Gi revealed that he’s a ‘strong heart’ when dating.

The March 15 episode of KBS2‘s “Entertainment Weekly” visited Lee Seung Gi on the set of an advertisement shoot, where he, a company man, was having some difficulty maneuvering a bike. Lee Seung Gi joked, “There’s nothing that I do well.”

The interviewer asked Lee Seung Gi if he’s a ‘strong heart’ when dating, referring to the talk show that the actor used to host, at which he replied, “I’m not soft of heart [when dating].” Lee Seung Gi was then asked who in his life is like his ‘vitamin,’ and the singer mentioned family. The interviewer was no doubt trying to draw out a response about his girlfriend, but did not succeed. Previously, Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA, whom Lee Seungi Gi confirmed that he was dating at the beginning of this year, replied in the same manner when prompted with the same question, naming family and friends as her ‘vitamins.’ Could this be… [insert dramatic music] coincidence?

K-pop = Love: KCON 2013 Shows the True Heart of Fans

K-pop = Love: KCON 2013 Shows the True Heart of Fans

KCON 2013

The atmosphere can easily be vicious and competitive. After all, every K-popexperience is once-in-a-lifetime. But for the most part, drama was nowhere insight for the fan community at KCON this year.

As KCON 2013 promised more organized artist engagement series, fans who weretrading, selling and buying their artist engagement vouchers were aplenty. While it cannot be helped that those who would take advantage of the situationstill do exist, it is also not worth it to discuss about those people.Especially when a larger group of fans are worthy of note --The fans who tradedor gave up their vouchers to a bigger fan, so that other fan can see theirfavorite artist are the ones that caught our team's attention. If at all, theselfless acts of these fans is made even more valuable due to the shadypractices of those who take advantage.

There were two sets of these selfless fans at KCON. Those who were givingtheir vouchers to someone who really wanted to see their favorite artist, whenthe giver is not entirely passionate about said artist. For example, wewitnessed one fan who gave up her EXO voucher to a bigger fan. The receiver ofthe gift was in tears as she was so thankful to the other fan for giving her theopportunity.Howcan you notget emotional after another fan gives up theirvoucher out of the kindness of their heart?

K-pop = Love: KCON 2013 Shows the True Heart of Fans

Onanother occasion, we tellthe story of thegirl whotraded her 2AMHiTouch voucher to a girl that had a2AMviewing-only voucher (these were twodifferent engagement levels at KCON this year- theHi Touch allows fora highfive with the artist, while viewing session is onlyto stand and look at theartist from a cordoned area). The trade was made so thatthe receivercould getthe chance to touch 2AM instead of just see them. What was more sweet was thatwhen it was her chance to get aHi Touchwith 2AM, she was crying. As she highfived each member of 2AM, when she got to Jo Kwon, the 2AM leaderslightly wipedher face as she passed him. It was so sweet that the whole crowd screamed at thescene. If only Jo Kwon knew...The fangot the chance of her life because anotherfan was kind enough to give up their Hi Touch voucher for another fan for whomit will matter more.

K-pop = Love: KCON 2013 Shows the True Heart of Fans

This is one of the reasons why K-pop concerts alwaystouch us,because thereare these kinds of fans who help us spread the love for our favorite artists.

Another common scene at KCON 2013 are the cosplaying fans who also covertheir favorite artist dances and songs, in the sweltering heat. No matter howtalented one is when it comes to dancing, or singing, learning the choreography, putting a group together all require passion and hard work.Perhaps some of these people practiced for hours a week prior, or perhaps theentire summer. Nonetheless, their love for the art that is K-pop, and theopportunities it opens up for themare remarkable. As one bystander mom(sherefused to be named) said, "I don't understand K-pop much. I'm only here becauseof my daughter who loves K-pop. But watching these kids perform in the heat isjust wow. They bring it home for me. They make me proud."

K-pop = Love: KCON 2013 Shows the True Heart of Fans

Also, with the arena so big this year, and with what feels like abillionactivities being held, it is easy to be confused. Volunteer staff, while they are extremely helpful, are also a bit scarce.Because of this, fansattending KCON also tend to rely on each other for information and direction. And it's just amazing howhonest, how approachable attendees were.To the pointthat the event feels like one giant soiree where everyone can come up to anyoneand feel safe and paid attention to.

It is these tiny things that make uswant to return to KCON year afteryear. We are reminded of the community we serve. We are inspired bytheamount of love being shared for the artists, and for fellow fans. It's likegoing to a sheltering place where you know you can feel understood andwelcomed. KCON like K-pop,is not about just the music, nor about the flashycostumes, nor about the performances, but about the community it fosters and thewarm love it kindles.
