I.O.I’s Somi is set to appear on her new show in KBS 2TV titled “Idol Drama Operation Team”. During the filming, the young idol shared what she did to borrow a phone to call her family.
It is a well-known fact that idols have to prove themselves before given the chance to own a cellphone. For example, an idol has to win #1 on a music show, or achieve something similar so he/she can have a personal phone.
As reported by All Kpop, I.O.I’s Somi filmed for an upcoming episode of KBS 2TV’s “Idol Drama Operation Team”. During which, the young idol discussed what she did to simply borrow a phone so she could call her family.
Somi revealed that she once tore down the screen on her window so she could borrow a phone from a random person. One time, she met a fan and decided to borrow her phone.
Somi had to give the fan food in exchange for borrowing their phone for a brief moment. Somi then managed to get a few minutes of call with her mother.
“I managed to get to my mother, but we had filming right afterward,” said Somi. “I only heard her voice +for a little bit.”
In related news, Somi and the rest of the cast of “Idol Drama Operation Team” attended a press conference. As reported by Soompi, the event was held on Thursday, June 1.
During the event, Somi revealed that the hardest part of filming the show was filming her fight scene with co-cast Kim Chungha. Chungha was also a member of Somi’s former band I.O.I.
“I was closest with Chungha in I.O.I,” said Somi. “When I had to fight with her, I couldn’t get into character. I’m a bit disappointed with my acting in that scene,” she further explained.
