SM Entertainment planning to delay Shindong’s military conscription

Recently, one media source announced that Super Junior’s Shindong had received a letter of conscription to the Korean mandatory military service, and thus will be joining the army on the 31st of March.

However, on March 3rd, SM Entertainment announced that they are looking into delaying his conscription.

Due to future schedules of performing with Super Junior and other promotional broadcasting activities, SM Entertainment will be doing all they can in delaying Shindong’s conscription to a time in which it will allow for him to complete his planned schedules.

As of now, Shindong is currently the host MC, alongside Shin Dongyup, for Mnet’s popular program, “Beatles Code 3D”, and has been chosen to be the host MC for MBC Music’s upcoming program, “Idol Dance Battle”

Girls’ Generation met and took a photo with American pop star, Katy Perry.

On the 2nd of March, Taeyeon updated her Instagram with a group photo of the girls posing with Katy Perry, who was dressed in Jeremy Scott’s latest dress design for Moschino.

She thanked Katy Perry and hoped to be able to meet her again, even referring to her as “onni”.

Fans commented on her Instagram, commenting on how beautiful both the members of Girls’ Generation and Katy Perry were, and also paid a lot of attention to Katy Perry’s unique dress.

Girls’ Generation and Katy Perry were apparently at an event called “U-Express Live 2014” in Japan’s Siatama Arena, and took the photo while backstage.

The whole nation of Korea has fallen in love with mixed martial artist Chu Sunghoon’s daughter, Chu Sarang, including Girls’ Generation’s Sunny.

On the 28th of February, Sunny uploaded a photo of her TV screen with Chu Sarang on KBS 2TV’s “Superman is Back”.

Along with the photo, she added that she had paid 1000 won (approximately $1 USD) to watch the show, purely so she could see Chu Sarang in HD. She also commented on how her ruffled up hair was still cute, and praised how well she ate.
Furthermore, she referred to herself as “auntie Sunny”, and expressed how she wanted to invite Chu Sarang to the dorm of Girls’ Generation and buy her fried chicken.

Sunny’s love for Chu Sarang brought up a lot of attention among many fans, and thus expressed how Chu Sarang has really captured everyone’s hearts

TVXQ nominees under 5 categories for Japan’s 28th Golden Disk Awards

TVXQ’s global popularity doesn’t seem to want to back down.

On the 28th of February, SM Entertainment revealed that TVXQ were up for candidacy under five categories in the 28th Japanese Golden Disk Awards, in which the categories were “Best Asian Artist”, “Album of the Year”, “Best 3 Albums”, “Download Song of the Year” and “Best Music Video”.

Like any other music awards program, the Japanese Golden Disk Awards also gathers its results through album sales and video views to reward the top artists in these categories.

TVXQ are currently the most loved Korean idol group, where they had successfully finished 5 dome tours in Japan last year, with over 850 thousand fans gathering to see them live. Furthermore, they have ranked 1st on the Oricon Weekly Charts for a total of 12 times, and have set new records for being the number 1 foreign artist within Japan

On the 26th of February, Girls’ Generation’s official YouTube channel uploaded a 10 second video of Sunny secretly filming Jessica.

In the video, Jessica was being filmed as she was taking a nap during the day. While napping, Sunny attempted placing a biscuit inside Jessica’s mouth. Instead of succeeding, Sunny accidentally dropped it, which woke Jessica up.

Realizing it was Sunny attempting to play a joke on her and film her secretly, Jessica burst out in laughter.

However, among the fans, the focus of the video was more towards on how beautiful Jessica had looked, even while she was napping.

Many of the comments praised how cute and flawless she appeared, and also on how the members of Girls’ Generation seemed to be very close

They all looked very comfortable and relaxed and looked as happy and ready as ever to comeback with their new album “Mr.Mr.”.

Girls’ Generation have already released their mini-album online on the 24th, and it will be ready offline on the 27th. Their come back stage will be on the 6th of March on M! Countdown.

Girls’ Generation’s “Mr.Mr.” sweeps charts internationally

Girls’ Generation have finally released their album “Mr.Mr.” on the 24th of February at 5pm KST, and are already sweeping several music charts.

On charts such as Melon, Mnet, Olleh Music, Bugs Music, Genie, Soribada and Monkey3, “Mr.Mr.” ranked 1st in just an hour of it’s release, and within 3 hours, it ranked first on Naver Music and Daum Music.

Furthermore, on iTunes, “Mr.Mr.” ranked 2nd in Thailand, 5th in Malaysia, 14th in Hong Kong, 21st in Taiwan, 52nd in the Philippines and 63rd in Indonesia, within just an hour and 35 minutes of its release.

After a day, “Mr.Mr.” climbed up all of the international charts even more, in which at 8pm KST, it was ranked 2nd in Thailand, 3rd in Vietnam, 4th in Singapore, 5th in Malaysia, 6th in Indonesia and Kazakhstan, 14th in Hong Kong, 21st in Taiwan, 55th in the Philippines, 97th in Sweden, and 99th in Macau

EXO, G-Dragon and Lee Hi voted as artists of the year

The 11th Korean Music Awards had opened up voting for their awards from the 4th of February until the 20th.

Of the candidates, EXO was the winning artist under the best group category, G-Dragon in the best male artist category and Lee Hi in the best female artist category.

There were a total of 27 teams in the group category, 20 in the male artist category and 11 in the female artist category, with over 21,770 fan votes altogether.

The 11th Korean Music Awards will be held on the 28th of February at 7pm, in Seoul’s Yes24 Move Hall infront of Hongik University. Indie bands like 3rd Line Butterfly, Galaxy Express and 404 will be performing at the awards ceremony, as well as Korean hip hop duo, Garion.

Is Girls’ Generation filming their music video again?

With unfortunate news of damaged data on Girls’ Generation’s comeback music video for “Mr. Mr.”, many fans have been constantly asking when their comeback has been postponed to, and how they will be approaching this crisis.

On the 20th of February, however, Taeyeon may have given some clues as to what they are doing with this issue. On her personal Instagram, Taeyeon uploaded a photo of herself in a location that is similar to that shown in the music video teasers.

The photo seemed mysterious in that it only showed her from the eyes up, with an apple shaped accessory on top of her head, supported by text that hinted at how she had been waiting for something for a very long time.

Many of her followers assumed that the walls in the background were from the set for their music video, and that they are filming it again
