[KBS 2TV Wed & Thur Drama Bridal Mask] Park Ki-woong Plays Sensational Dual Roles

[KBS 2TV Wed & Thur Drama Bridal Mask] Park Ki-woong Plays Sensational Dual Roles

The prominent dual performance of Park Ki-woong has surprised the viewers of “Bridal Mask”. In the 23rd episode of Bridal Mask written by Yu Hyeon-mi and produced by Yun Seong-sik that aired on August 22, Shunji (played by Park Ki-woong) removed the mask from the injured Bridal Mask. Shunji was then shocked to discover that the Bridal Mask is Lee Kang-to (played by Joo Won). He becomes furious and tearful due to Kang-to’s deceitful lies.

However, Shunji stops Ganpei Gato (played by Bruce Kahn) who attempts to stab him. Why? Because he has a plan involving Lee Kang-to to obtain information to arrest Yang Baek (played by Kim Myung-gon) and Dong Jin (played by Park Sung Woong).

Shunji goes to see Chairman Kashokai, Ueno-hideki (played by Jeon Guk-whan) to tell him what has happened. He says, “This is not the time to kill him yet. If Yang-baek and Dong-jin are alive, their national spirit will be continued even though we may have killed Bridal Mask." Shunji asks the chairman a permission to kill Lee Kang-to by himself.

Shunji's anger is greater than ever. Whenever he hears the name of Lee Kang-to he gets crazy enough to pull a gun, cursing him. In the meantime he shows himself in a gentle way saying to Goiso (played by Yoon Jin-ho), “Don’t do it too much to him. Isn’t he our family member?”

At that time, Lee Kang-to comes in saying he had an accident. Then smiling at him, Shunji tells him, “You should be careful!” In addition to that, he talks about Bridal Mask saying “Bridal Mask kidnapped Song Gi-ja (played by Choi Dae-chul) who is an informant for Dong-jin and I think Bridal Mask is likely to have a relationship with Dong-Jin. We need to investigate both of them!”

Murayama Yosio (played by Kim, Myoung-su), a police chief, scolds and yells at his junior staff out of furious anger, “The Bridal Mask took Dong-Jin’s informant away from us! It means our great patriotic Japanese Spirit has deserted us!” For this Shunji insists, “It is a matter of fighting spirit!!!” Shunji criticizes Yoshio’s decision saying, “Who in the world will do the best to the society that degrades or upgrades ranks without reasonable explanations? Sato Hiroshi (Lee Kang-to)’s demotion should be reconsidered for the order of imperial police.” Then he is beaten mercilessly on the spot by Yoshio.

From then, Shunji talks calmly about Bridal Mask with Lee Kang-to, goes to see Oh Mok-dan (played by Jin Se-yeon) and says in disguised smile, “Shall I find your young master whom you love to see?” Then suddenly, he changes his facial expression saying awfully, “I will find out him to see who the hell he is! Because of him you don’t open your heart to me! I will never give you up to anybody else, as long as I shall live!”

When Yang Baek saw Kang-to, he handed him potatoes that his mother has boiled herself saying, “my 80-year-old mother wanted me to give these you, they were hand grown herself.”

In the beginning of the drama, Kang-to was a central part of the “evil”, but once taking over as Bridal Mask from his brother, he became a double agent showing off both evil and good sides to the audience. His acting skills helped him to build on his character in the following episodes, which is why the audience wept with him as he ate the potatoes.
