SEVENTEEN is the best performing K-pop album this week on Billboard’s World Album Chart. The K-pop group’s comeback album “AI1” entered the charts last week and maintained its strong performance this week.
Based on its Billboard World Album Chartsstanding, SEVENTEEN landed on the #4 spot this week, which is a slight slip from its #2 spot last week. SEVENTEEN is joined by other Korean acts ASTRO, AOMG’s Loco and BTS who took the 6th, 7thand 8thspots this week.
SEVENTEEN has earlier been lauded by Billboard for being one of the most innovative K-pop acts in the industry. Its latest comeback “AI1” was praised by reviewers for its courage in changing up the group’s style from its normal dancey vibe to take on an edgier approach with its EDM track “Don’t Wanna Cry.”
“The single (Don’t Wanna Cry) and the rest of “Al1‘s” tracks, show musical depth by adding diversity to the group’s sound,” Billboarddelivered its take on SEVENTEEN’s latest mini album. “Two years into their career, it’s a surprising, but very welcome, move, and hopefully Seventeen will continue to impress with future releases.”
In the heels of their recent success on the charts and on sales, SEVENTEEN is set to embark on its first world tour. The concert series entitled “Diamond Edge” is set to take the boys to North America for the first time.
SEVENTEEN will be performing in Chicago’s Rosemont Theater on August 18, Dallas’ Verizon Theater on August 23 and Toronto’s Massey Hall on August 25. They will close out their concert tour with a performance in New York’s Terminal 5 on August 27, Kpop Mapreported.
SEVENTEEN’s “Diamond Edge” World Tour was a result of fan clamor on mymusictaste.com to bring the boys to North America. Pledis Entertainment, SEVENTEEN’s label partnered with MyMusicTaste, Live Nation, and SHOW NOTE to make it happen this August.
