Seventeen Grabs First Win on SBS MTV's 'The Show', Sells Almost 200,000 Copies of 'Al1' on First Week
Seventeen’s effort has finally come to fruition. The boy group, who recently made their comeback, has won No. 1 on the recent episode of SBS MTV’s “The Show”.
As reported by All Kpop, Seventeen grabbed their first win on the May 30 broadcast of SBS MTV’s “The Show”. This is for their performance with “Al1” title track “Don’t Wanna Cry”.
Seventeen even beat DIA and VIXX who also performed on the episode. Seventeen members then proceeded to say their thanks to their fans.
“First of all, we would like to thank our fan,” said SEVENTEEN members. The boy group also did not forget to thank their agency and their families for their support as well.
This marked Seventeen’s first win since they made their comeback with their EP “Al1” on Monday, May 22. Fans are now hoping for the boy group to have a winning streak of their future show appearances.
Seventeen members were also interviewed backstage during the episode. “We returned with the title song ‘Don’t Wanna Cry’since we felt that although the younger generation appears happy at times, they, too, feel sad moments from time to time,” explained the boys.
In related news, Seventeen is proving their success as they sell almost 200,000 copies of their latest mini album “Al1”. As previously reported by KpopStarz, Seventeen sold a total of 192,399 copies of the EP.
This is Seventeen’s most number of copies sold during the first week of release of the mini album. Their previous mini album “Going Seventeen” sold 131,998 copies in the first week of release, beating their own record.
The mini album contains a total of 7 tracks. The mini album’s title track is titled “Don’t Wanna Cry” which is also being promoted by the group currently.
Seventeen’s “Al1” includes the tracks “Habit”, “If I”, and “Swimming Pool” to name a few. The tracks “Who” and “Check-In” are only available on CD.
