Searchuee Kim Hyun Joong Dating
For someone who prefers to keep his relationships a secret, Kim Hyun Joong does a lot of talking about love and marriage.
Or maybe that is just the question people keep asking him. On the July 6 broadcast of MBC"s "Section TV Entertainment News," he talked about his marriage plans yet again and why people might want to know his intentions. It may have something to do with his age.
"Everyone asks me about my age and they go, "Are you 25 years old already?" And when I tell them, "I"m 29 years old," they really get shocked," he said.
It"s an age when many people think about tying the knot.
"I don"t have plans now," he said. "But I don"t want to do it so late either."
In a previous interview with Newsen, he confessed that he has dated in secret and would never go public with a relationship. It would not be kind to expose the person he was dating to public scrutiny.
"I noticed that when people date publicly and break up, it"s usually the woman who suffers for it," he said. If he were not planning to marry the person he would never go public out of respect for that person"s life.
At this point, he can"t really think about marriage because he is so focused on work. He guesses he will probably be over 35 when he does settle down. The longest he ever dated anyone was three years and that person was a non-celebrity.
At one point he was rumored to be dating Uee, his "Barefooted Friends" co-star, but he denied those rumors.
"It"s not true at all," he told Newsen. "We were close during the filming, but I am not dating Uee like the rumors suggest."
Not dating publicly does have its downside. People start to imagine things. For example, there were recently even rumors about the time he spent on Jeju Island with actor and Hallyu star Bae Yong Joon.
Kim Hyun Joong told "Section TV Entertainment News that, "There were people saying, "Aren"t you two in a relationship?" We absolutely slept in different rooms."
The trip took place shortly after Bae Yong Joon denied rumors that he was marrying his current girlfriend, Go Soo Hee. It was rumored that Bae traveled to Jeju Island to see her, but he said that he went to congratulate Kim Hyun Joong on the successful completion of the drama "Inspiring Generation."
"We talked about the future while having drinks and I listened to his advice on what to do and what not to do," said Kim Hyun Joong. "We had fun hanging out, we were on the same wavelength."
The actor"s latest mini album is called "Timing."
Because of his passion and dedication for acting, Kim Hyun Joong thinks that he might not get married at all.
During his interview with news portal Newsen, he was asked to share his thoughts on marriage, to which he answered, "I don"t think I can get married."
He continued, "By the time I finish my army duties, I will be 35 years old. I used to think that it"s a must to get married, but over time, I changed my mind. I don"t think I can commit to the responsibilities of having a family because I love working too much. I think I would consider marriage only when I stop being an actor."
On dating, he admitted, "I would be lying if I said I didn"t date. In fact, I was secretly dating last year, but I"m currently single."
"At my age, I only want to date freely. I don"t want to hold someone back with an immature love. Instead of planning over-the-top events and surprises, I want to just have meals with her and hold hands while walking. Ordinary relationships are better," he added.
He also said, "I will never go public with a relationship unless I plan on getting married to the woman. She will lose so much if we admit our relationship but then break up. This is a way of showing my respect to the other person."
Kim Hyun Joong is currently preparing to meet fans through a world tour and a new studio album.
In a recent interview with Newsen, singer/actor Kim Hyun Joong talked about his thoughts on dating and marriage.
The reporter asked Kim Hyun Joong, born in 1986 and inexorably approaching 30, about his plans for marriage. The actor immediately replied that he doesn’t think he will be able to, smiling. He said, “Once I finish my military service, get out, and do this and that, don’t you think I’ll be over about 35? A long time ago, I thought I would definitely get married one day, but now I’m not so sure. I like my work so much I don’t think I could be completely devoted to my family. If, one day, I’m met with a dilemma about acting, singing, and holding concerts, I’ll get married then.”
Then what about dating? Kim Hyun Joong said straightforwardly, “If I said I don’t, it would be a lie. I had a girlfriend that I was meeting in secret about a year ago, but I’m not dating anyone right now.” He then explained the difference in his views on dating between him in his early twenties and his late twenties. “Before, like children, I thought that If we said ‘let’s date,’ we were dating. But now, that’s not the case. (Now,) I think there’s a time when sparks fly. Although my older friends say that eventually even that becomes meaningless…”
“When I filmed dramas, I used to think that it was permitted dating. I really liked that, including the feeling of having to accept ‘breaking up’ when the drama was over. Because you’re living in another world. I think that’s one of the things I really like about this recent drama [‘Age of Feeling’],” referring to the love triangle in the show.
The actor explained further that in the drama, there was a girl he liked and a girl that liked him. “I’m the type that no matter what, I like who I like. But, filming this drama, that changed. I began to think that I could like someone that likes me, and that it would be much easier that way.”
Kim Hyun Joong said that now he just wants to date comfortably, and doesn’t care for fiery passion or things of the sort. “Normal dating is the best. Buying her flowers, doing surprises, eating together, and holding hands. I didn’t know that normal was great when I was young, but now I’m getting it.”
When asked if he could date publicly, Kim Hyun Joong said he could never. “Once the relationship is over, the only one affected is the girl. There’s no need to describe a married woman as ‘so-and-so’s girl.’ If it’s not for marriage, I will never publicly date, in order to respect that person’s personal life.”
Kim Hyun Joong has been doing a lot of talking about dating lately but he"s not giving up any names. Nor is he likely to.
In a recent interview with Newsen, he confessed that he has dated in secret and he would never go public with a relationship.
"If I say I don"t date, that would be a lie. I dated in secret a year ago, but I am not dating currently," said the singer and "Inspiring Generation" star.
If he really cared for someone he would not want to expose that person to media scrutiny or tarnish her reputation in any way.
"I noticed that when people date publicly and breakup, it"s usually the woman who suffers for it," he said. "I don"t think there"s any need for a woman who may later marry someone else to have the title of my woman following them. If I"m not going to marry that person, I will never go public with the relationship out of respect for that person"s life."
But the older he gets the more he thinks that marriage may not be an option for him. At 27, he still has to fulfill his military duty and has plans for his career.
"If I do everything I want to, I will be over 35 years old," he said. "In the past I thought I really will get married but now I don"t have the confidence that it would work. I love work so much I"m not sure I will be able to put my family first. If a conflict comes up with a drama, singing or a concert, then I will probably choose that."
Well, at least he"s honest.
He said that the longest he ever dated a girl was for three years and she was a non-celebrity. He has denied the rumors that he was dating After School singer and actress Uee, who he met when they appeared on "Barefooted Friends."
"It"s not true at all," he said. "We were close during the filming, but I am not dating Uee like the rumors suggest."
His ideas about dating have changed in the last few years. He does not want a dramatic relationship, just a person to share daily life with.
"I think an impulsive relationship based on passion and or possessive one is not that great," he said. "A normal dating relationship is best. Rather than buying flowers and doing surprise events, it"s better to just eat together and hold hands. I didn"t realize how good such normal and ordinary things were when I was younger but I realize that now."
But given how much he likes sharing a day"s ordinary events, he may yet change his mind about marriage.
Kim Hyun Joong once said that he did not want to get married before he was 35. As he approaches his 28th birthday, he has put some more thought into the kind of girl he wants to marry.
To date his longest relationship lasted three years and it was with a non-celebrity. Their breakup had something to do with his busy schedule. It”s not as if idols can”t date, he said. It”s just that the competition is so fierce, being a performer has to be your priority.
“Ever since I started as an idol, there was no time to rest and I could not date properly,” he said in an interview with Sports Seoul.
Idols also don”t have a lot of privacy. Everything they do is examined and discussed, sometimes criticized.
“Idols can date but you become conditioned to thinking you can”t,” he said. “When idols even act, they face a disadvantage because of their idol background. If they buy a car, people make sarcastic remarks. I think people expect a lot of idols. But they are young and they are also human like everyone else, so it”s unfortunate.”
He does not regret the sacrifice he made, both in time and privacy. He is grateful to have had the chance.
“Although it felt like an invasion of privacy at times, it was also a privilege. I was the one selected out of a million people who auditioned and I made my debut,” he said. “I endured it and think I should be happy for this very reason.”
He does think that things are changing. More stars are being open about dating.
“I think social conditions have changed a lot,” he said. “The atmosphere feels different.”
Little is known about the women he has dated over the years. He denies the ongoing rumors that he dated singer and actress Uee. And he has confessed to being dumped more than once by a girl. One time he said he was even dumped via text.
But his recent appearance in “Inspiring Generation” and his onscreen relationship with Jin Se Yeon has changed his ideas about the kind of girl he might date or even marry. In the past when he dated his focus was on winning a girl”s heart, then taking care of her and doing what he could to make her comfortable. But he came to like the way Jin Se Yeon”s character nurtured his.
“I used to have to like girls before they liked me, but when I did “Inspiring Generation,” I thought for the first time that I could be swayed by a girl who treats me well. It was nice to have a pretty girl who cared for me and treated me nicely. Although I do have to like the girl, when I watched Ok Ryeon, I began to think that I should marry this kind of girl.”
Was he swayed by the character or the actress? Only time will tell.
Kim Hyun Joong sat down for an interview with Sports Seoul, which also happened to be on the day that Nichkhun and Tiffany went public with their relationship, making it inevitable that the veteran idol star would be asked to give his two cents on idols dating.
Kim Hyun Joong shared, “[The competition] was intense during my twenties. Ever since I started as an idol, there was no time to rest, and I wasn”t able to date properly… I think the social conditions have changed a lot these days, so it feels new and different.”
“I don”t regret it even if it means not being able to date properly. Although it felt like an invasion of privacy at times, in order to become a singer, I was the only one selected out of 1 million people who auditioned and made my debut… I endured through it and thought that I should be happy for this very reason.”
“If I were to become an idol again, I don”t think I would be able to do it… Since idols are not considered as singers, in the U.S you think of *NSYNC as artists, but in our country and Japan, [the general public] does not consider idols as artists and their image is restricting.”
“Idols can date too ,but I think at one point, we were brainwashed into thinking that idols can”t date… Even if idols act, they have a disadvantage because of their idol background, and even if they buy a car, people make sarcastic remarks. I think there is that stereotype concerning idols… Although they are young, they are also human and should be acknowledged as people of this culture so it”s unfortunate.”
“I used to like girls who I liked [instead of the other way around], but as I did “Generation of Youth“, I thought for the first time that I can be swayed by a girl who treats me well… I felt it was nice to have a pretty girl who treats me and takes care of me well… Although I am the type to have to like a girl first to like her at all, as I observed Ok Ryun (Jin Se Yeon), I felt that I should marry this kind of girl.”
(Photo : Sports Seoul) SS501 member and actor Kim Hyun Joong debuted 10 years ago in 2005, and is already in his 30s. This idol revealed his feelings about dating in a recent interview.
Kim Hyun Joong said, "There"s nothing that I"m lacking because I"ve never had a proper relationship. Although my personal life has been somewhat violated, I was fortunate enough to get chosen among 1 million people who auditioned and debuted. I"m in the so-called 10% that became a celebrity. That"s the reason why I should think about this matter and be happy regardless."
He continued, "If I had to become an idol once again, I wouldn"t be able to do it. There"s a strong belief that idols aren"t singers. N"Sync in America is considered an artist, but in Korea and Japan idols aren"t seen as artists, and their image is limited." He spoke honestly about how idols are viewed. He also shared how difficult it was to make the change from being an idol and transform into an acknowledged actor.
He said, "Idols can be in relationships, too, but at one point there was a time when they said that idols shouldn"t date. When idols act, there"s an uncertainty just because they"re "idols". Even when they buy cars, the public turns it around and says that "the idol bought a car". There"s a pre-fixed notion about idols. It"s true that idols are young, but they"re also cultured people in this land. It"s unfortunate." He drew attention with his honest feelings.
The interview then naturally led to how he feels about celebrities dating. He said, "Originally I used to like favoring a girl, but for the first time while filming "Inspiring Generation", I felt that I could get attracted to a girl who can treat me well." In "Inspiring Generation," Ok Ryeon (Jin Se Yeon) has a crush on Shin Jung Tae (Kim Hyun Joong), and stays by his side while showing unconditional love to him.
Kim Hyun Joong said, "I felt that it must be nice to have such a pretty girl care for me and treat me well. I"m the type that likes the girl more, but watching Ok Ryeon, I felt realized I should marry a girl like her (who likes me more)."
Kim Hyun Joong has been praised for his acting in the role of Shin Jung Tae in KBS2 drama "Inspiring Generation".
Kim Hyun Joong denied all the rumors of himself dating After School‘s UEE!
Rumors started spreading after the two artists’ appearances on “Barefoot Friends“.
Kim Hyun Joong recently conducted an interview with Star Today, where he denied all the rumors, saying, “It’s not true at all. To be honest, I trusted these rumors out of instinct. But now that I became one of the subjects, I realized they’re not believable. I heard through the rumors that I was dating UEE, and we laughed together when we saw it. After that, the staff kept teasing us, so I jokingly said ‘she’s my girlfriend’, and that became the fuel for another round of rumors. It’s a scary world.”
He said, “We were all close during the filming, but I don”t think I could ever be dating UEE like the rumors suggest.“
Continuing in the convoluted saga this is the warfare between singer Kim Hyun Joong and his ex-girlfriend Ms. Choi, the fourth pre-trial hearing in the 1.6 billion won (approximately $14 million) lawsuit opposed to the singer was once hung on October 30.
The hearing turned into held earlier than the Seoul Central District Court. Before the lawsuits began, Ms. Choi reportedly asked Kim Hyun Joong’s legal professional if he’d observed the baby yet. “You’ve now not yet visible the baby, yet I have a photo. The baby looks similar to Kim Hyun Joong. Shall I send you the photo?” Kim Hyun Joong’s father reportedly declined the offer, pronouncing that they’ll verify the paternity first thru a DNA verify and then speak about seeing the child.
However, Kim Hyun Joong’s lawyers did verify that the photo Ms. Choi presented was real, and printed the child’s gender as male. However, Ms. Choi didn't disclose the baby’s blood type, claiming that she didn’t know what blood sort he has.
The hearing is yet some other bankruptcy in the ongoing conflict, which has been in huge part made up of a giant number of “he said, she said” from either sides. previous this year, Kim Hyun Joong was fined five million won (approximately $4,300) for domestic assault, and then Ms. Choi revealed she was pregnant and sued Kim Hyun Joong for 1.6 billion won in damages (today’s hearing was a phase of this lawsuit). Kim Hyun Joong because of this filed a countersuit for 1.2 billion won (approximately $10.5 million) for slander following Ms. Choi revealing a prior pregnancy and miscarriage to the media, mentioning a loss of evidence to fortify her claims. The latest revelation is the clash is Kim Hyun Joong writing a letter to the media to explain his side, claiming that Ms. Choi continues to lie to him about the child.
(Photo : KDramaStars) Legal representatives for Kim Hyun Joong and his ex-girlfriend returned to court for a fourth hearing on October 30.
During the session, which was closed to the public, the legal team for his ex-lover presented further evidence to support their claims.
The ex-lover of the "Boys Over Flowers" starreportedly delivered a healthy baby in September 2015. While the sex and paternity of the child have yet to be revealed, lawyers for his ex-girlfriend commented on the wellbeing of the baby. According to her lawyer, both his former lover and alleged child are doing well.
An article published by Star News highlighted several points from the latest session of the contentious legal battle and provided statements from representatives for his ex-girlfriend.
"We brought in new evidence, this time," said the legal representative for his ex-lover. "It appears we will be ready for the final argument, today."
Further developments in the case include terms which could force both the idol-turned-actor and his ex-girlfriend to attend future hearings.
"If required, Miss A is willing to attend as a witness, as well," said a representative from her legal team.
Her lawyer went on to state that the former couple continues to disagree on several issues, including the details surrounding the paternity of their alleged child.
"Soon, the paternity results will be revealed in Seoul Family Court," said the lawyer for Kim"s ex-lover.
The on-going legal battle involving the former SS501 member and his ex-girlfriend began on August 21, 2014, when she allegedly filed domestic violence charges against the star.
Meanwhile, Kim continues his mandatory military service. He reportedly filed for a leave period for the first time since enlisting.
