Girl Band Member to Cycle for Reunification

Heo Young-joo, a 22-year-old student at Sungkyunkwan University and member of girl group The SeeYa, is one of many young people who joined a cycling relay dubbed “One Korea, New Eurasia”.

The relay, hosted by the Chosun Ilbo to promote Korean reunification, takes participants on a 15,000 km journey that starts in Berlin on Sept. 13. They will cycle from through Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China. Heo will be with the team for nine days to complete the 751 km route from Berlin to Warsaw....

SM Entertainment and indie band Red Velvet have reached an agreement concerning the use of the same name for the major agency”s upcoming four-member girl group.

 

The two parties have now come out with official statements regarding the matter and have ultimately decided to continue as is and promote with the same name. Ha Hwi Soo of the indie band Red Velvet told Star News, “[After meeting personally with a head at SM], we”ve concluded that we”ll promote with the same name. From now onward, neither will interfere with the use of the name Red Velvet.”...

“First Time” is revealed to be BoA’s title track for her 8th Japanese album, “Who’s Back?”. The track is a upbeat-tempo song with the video exploring the back scene of BoA’s album production.

The camera follows a bare faced BoA arriving in Japan and heading to the studio as she prepares to record her songs with another producer directing her. After shopping for potential clothes for her 8th album concept, BoA heads off to the photography studio to complete her album jacket. In between, BoA’s relaxed state is caught as she visits a cafe and makes a light lunch/dinner made of avocado, onion, and etc. ...

Both sides agreed that they will use the same name Red Velvet from now on.

Previously it was reported that an indie band voiced out their opinion against SM Entertainment that their new girl group has the same name as their band which is Red Velvet, and also since the indie band has been around since 2013 in Hongdae area, they expressed their frustration by saying that the agency didn”t put in any consideration in choosing the group”s name, which led this misunderstanding....
