Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2014 – July Week 2

Our weekly music chart has undergone a major change starting this week. To make our chart more reflective of what is hot internationally, we are introducing “Soompi Airplay” as 15% of our chart score. “Soompi Airplay” reflects the relevance of each artist by measuring the frequency of their coverage on Soompi each week. We feel that this adds our own flavor to the music chart rather than just sampling major Korean charts. With this change, we have reassigned our chart weights of other sources as well: GAON is now a 25% source while Billboard Korea has been eliminated. Major internet charts (15%) and TV Music Programs (45%) remain unchanged. . ... Read more

Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2015 – February Week 4
4Minute’s “Crazy” moves up 10 spots to become the new No. 1 song on our chart! This song is from their sixth mini-album of the same title. Prior to this song, 4Minute also released a preview single “Cold Rain” which went to No. 13. “Crazy” has a fast trap beat and additive chorus lyrics which perfectly show the members’ charismatic images. This is the third No. 1 song for 4Minute on our chart, and they continue their streak of having a chart topping song every odd year: “Mirror Mirror” in 2011, and “What’s Your Name?” in 2013. “Crazy” won on all music show rankings except Music Bank last week, so it was not a surprise to see this song winning by a wide margin here. Congratulations to 4Minute!. ... Read more
