As any personaccustomed to Hark Joon Lee's eye-opening 2013 documentary "Nine Muses Of Megastar Empire" knows, the K-pop womancrew has had their percentage of ups and downs.
Though regardless of having six band individualsgo out sine the group's formation in 2010, it willseem that Nine Muses is alsoafter allin a position to set apart the dramas of the beyond and get down to generating quality music.
Whoever's resolution information technology was, the selection to have the crowd team up with veteran Hallyu hitmaker Courageous Brother was once a masterstroke.
Where past manufacturers accept ended up with singles where the members of Nine Muses sounded stiff, self-conscious, overly showy or understated to the point of anemia, on "Sleepless Night," released Tuesday as a phase of the group's "Lost" EP, Brothers lands the singers appropriate in a candy spot embodying either the indifferent cool of Lim Kim or IU with the tough precision of K-pop girl community icons like Wonder Ladies or 4Minute.
Beneath it all, Brave Brothers once back reinvents his own sound, producing a swishaggregate of vintage pop writing with the soulful shuffle of fashionable dance innovators like Santigold or Raphael Saadiq. Whilsthe'snow and again criticized for repeating himself (a somewhat ridiculous feebearing in mind his track checklist producing a dizzying array of hits for rather a lot of of South Korea's greatest acts from Giant Bang to SISTAR), there isn't any denying that Brothers has dialed in a genre of tunethis istricky to outline on "Sleepless Night."
Nine Muses won't own experienced the industrialluck of many in their contemporaries nor have the sort of squeaky-clean track record or undeniable bio that many Hallyu enthusiastsappearto appear for.
However, with "Sleepless Night" they have got just produced their first wonderful song. For any true music fan, that are intended togenerally be all that matters.
