It’s no shocker that Girls’ Generation (SNSD) brings all the boys out, and now that the SNSD members are all declaring that they got boys in their lives, we wondered who these boys could be.
Looking back into every crack and crevice in their impressive career, we found some possible candidates who could be the boys of SNSD.
It’s like an unwritten rule that two beautiful people – especially if they are stars – should not eat together, because they’ll just get sucked into a rumor without their consent.
That’s what happened to Jessica and Taecyeon when they were spotted, enjoying brunch together while wearing really comfortable clothes (Like, Taecyeon wearing a white tank top and sweatpants comfortable).
When the rumors flared up, both sides denied the relationship, stating that Jessica and Taecyeon were just close friends. Jessica even appeared on MBC’s Radio Star to say that Taecyeon was just a close oppa and that they agreed they should just not see each other in order to escape getting misunderstood again.
Just friends or a couple in hiding? We will never know.
TaeyonJung Hyung Don
Still an odd pairing even when we look at it four years later
As pudding and jelly, Taeyeon was momentarily married to comedian Jung Hyung Don on MBC’s We Got Married back in 2009. It was the second virtual marriage of Jung Hyung Dong and he returned to the show with the determination to be a better husband, especially to a bride who was 11 years younger.
They were adorable for the most part and seemed to be getting along, until it was revealed that Jung Hyung Don was actually dating his real girlfriend-turned-wife at the time. It was only natural for the virtual couple to part ways, although the We Got Married staff stated that their breakup wasn’t because of Jung Hyung Don’s private affairs, but something irrelevant, like scheduling conflicts.
SunnySuper Junior’s Sungmin
The unanswerable question of ‘Can people of the opposite sex remain as friends?’ comes to mind when thinking of Sunny and Sungmin’s relationship.
After working together for a year and a half on a radio program, Sunny and Sungmin became so close that they were finishing each other’s sentences for each other. Sunny even invited Sungmin (out of all the SM Entertainment singers) to KBS’ Invincible Youth, where the cast members threw a small party for their friends.
Their close friendship(?) brightly shined once again on the show, and people started to speculate whether or not these two young stars were dating. Of course, the two repeated that they were just close friends, despite the fact that Sungmin chose Sunny to be his virtual wife if he ever went on We Got Married.
But then Sunny revealed that she has never been in a relationship (minus some dates), and the only other scandal(?) she was in was where she was photographed, hugging a man(?), who just turned out to be f(x)’s Amber.
Maybe boys and girls can be friends.
YoonaJang Keun Suk
Do yellow umbrellas and raindrops remind you of anything? First love?
If so, Yoona and Jang Keun Suk did a good job portraying a beautiful couple in KBS’ Love Rain.
The story of the couple left the sweet scent of first love in the air as Yoona and Jang Keun Suk fell head over heels for each other. The only catch was that Yoona’s mom and Jang Keun Suk’s dad were also first loves, and Yoona’s mom was going blind, and yadda, yadda, insert other melodramatic features.
Despite the over-the-top drama of it all, Yoona and Jang Keun Suk’s chemistry was so perfect that they ended up being mistaken as a couple by the public. It also didn’t help that Jang Keun Suk composed a song called In My Dream with Yoona as his muse.
All drama aside, they just make for a really pretty couple.
Hyoyeon2PM’s Wooyoung (???)
Some years ago, Hyoyeon shyly admitted on SBS’ Strong Heart that she was crushing on a hot idol star to everyone’s surprise. She confessed that likes him so much that she thinks about him constantly and even dreams about him.
Hyoyeon wouldn’t say who it was for obvious reasons but described the lucky guy as someone who doesn’t have double eyelids, is humorous, and dances well.
Well, the investigation team of netizens quickly narrowed the list of candidates to one person: 2PM’s Wooyoung.
Fitting the descriptions that Hyoyeon gave, Wooyoung seemed like the perfect match. So when he came out on KBS’ Invincible Youth as a guest, all eyes were on the two stars.
At one point, Lee Young Ja asked if there was someone on the show that hit on him, but Wooyoung kept mysterious while Hyoyeon awkwardly urged him to tell the truth.
Maybe we’re trying to mash all the wrong puzzle pieces together because we want to see some idol romance, but whoever the crush was, Hyoyeon has long gotten over him, especially after he started acting cocky around her when he found out about Hyoyeon′s crush on him.
Sooyoung and Won Bin
Can we just say Sooyoung was the luckiest girl on this planet (even if it was only for a couple of days)?
Before 2012 closed its curtains, Sooyoung was caught in a dating scandal with Korea’s heartthrob, Won Bin. News started spreading fast online that Sooyoung and Won Bin were dating, creating a huge issue among fans.
But the news died as quickly as it spread as both stars’ agencies denied that Sooyoung and Won Bin were in a relationship. In fact, both sides stated that the stars have never even seen each other, so how could they be dating? Silly Netizens!
While they could have been made into an eye candy couple, we’re glad the rumors weren’t true, or we would have been bawling our eyes in jealousy.
SeohyunCN Blue’s Jung Yong Hwa
How can we forget the Sweet Potato couple?
Although they were quite awkward at first, Seohyun and Jung Yong Hwa were another adorable pair born from We Got Married.
With her good manners, Seohyun had a hard time addressing her husband informally, much to Jung Yong Hwa’s disappointment, since he wanted to be on friendly terms with his lady. In fact, Jung Yong Hwa was so sad that he made a song about it and it became pretty popular.
Whether they were digging up sweet potatoes, eating healthy food, or playing sweet music on the guitar and then posting it on Youtube together, Seohyun and Jung Yong Hwa were perhaps the most adorable and most respectful couple in the history of the program and it was truly saddening to see the couple go when they did.
YuriBIg Bang’s Taeyang
With Yuri getting prettier by the day, it’s no wonder that she wanted to date, and the special man for that task turned out to be Mr. ‘I Need a Girl’ Taeyang of Big Bang.
On SBS’ Strong Heart, Seungri exposed his fellow member by saying that Taeyang recently went to a SNSD concert, by himself, without telling any of the members.
Taeyang, unable to not tell the story, explained that not only did he go, he was invited by a SNSD member.
Guess who? Yuri!
It turned out that the two were previously introduced to each other by a mutual friend and actually went on a blind date once. They both claimed that romantic sparks did not fly and they just ended up becoming good friends who talked about music together.
Seungri pouted in surprise because he thought he was the only Big Bang member who knew a SNSD member, but in the end, he hoped that good things happened between the two - even if they said they were just friends.
Wink, wink, hint, hint?
This one hasn’t been blown all over the newspapers, but is a widely known rumor amongst fans.
Fans speculated that Nichkhun and Tiffany have dated/are dating, judging from all the coincidence that the two stars shared together.
Whether it’s having the same cell phone case or wearing the same accessories and clothes, some fans are certain that Nichkhun and Tiffany are dating, while others remain skeptical about it.
Tiffany and Nichkhun also MCed at the MBC Korean Music Festival in Bankok together (Yuri was an MC as well, but she’s not important right this second), and fan accounts say that Tiffany actually visited Nichkhun’s home during the trip and received loved from his family.
Sadly, until the day they speak up about it for themselves, we, as the people in the outer circle, will never know.
