Along with the recent issues surrounding Mnets Produce 101 Season 2, the show has been swept up into a new sexual assault controversy.
Recently, those who attended the shows performance evaluations recording vividly shared their experiences online. According to their reports, female bodyguards began recklessly body searching the female audience members. During this time, they reportedly groped the audience members bodies thoughtlessly, spoke without using formal language, and scared the audience by yelling at those who felt ashamed. Comments on relevant posts contained more eye-witness accounts that communicated similar information.
In response to the controversy, Mnet stated, Based on how content was leaked last season, we decided to tighten up the security on set so that viewers would be able to access the content only through the broadcast. In order to manage the goods that werent allowed on set (such as cameras and recording equipment), we operated a storage room and had people go through a table inspection, a metal detection inspection, and a detection scanner test.
The production crew continued, saying, If the alarms continued to go off, we had female bodyguards conduct examinations, but we have received some comments saying that some people felt uncomfortable in these situations. We would like to sincerely apologize to those who attended, and we will try to be more attentive from now on.
