Apparently there has been dispute about the profits between the productions that co-produced "Miracle in Cell No.7".
According to the news, production house "A" sued production house "B" for 4.6 biliion won.
"Miracle in Cell No.7" recorded 91.4 billion won in accumulated profits and "B" was given 13.4 billion of it.
The dispute started when "A" asked "B" for half of the profits from the movie according to the contract of partnership.
"B" claims "A" completed planning and writing the scenario for "Miracle in Cell No.7" from 2007 to 2010 but suffered a loss when the previous project suffered a loss. The movie was only started on when "B" linked with "A" through a major shareholder.
As evidence, the opening and ending credit of the movie shows "A" and "B" lined up together.
However, "B" denies signing a contract of partnership and that "A" was only listed on the credits for "helping out" with the production of the movie. It claims that it didn"t carry out any terms and conditions of a contract and that the chairman of the company himself did things on his own qualifications.
The justice court says, ""A" and "B" both have the rights to the movie tied by a contract of partnership. "B" should put forward half of the total profit to "A", not including incentives for the director and actors".
Meanwhile, main actor Ryoo Seung-ryong was paid 1.6 billion in profits and incentives while Jeong Jin-yeong received 520 million won. Park Shin-hye just got paid 30 million won.
