Low-Income Families Get More Day Care for Their Kids

The annual time limit for public childcare programs for low-income families has been increased from 480 to 600 hours a year.

The Ministry of the Gender Equality and Family on Tuesday said it secured a W1.13 billion supplementary budget for more extensive day-care services (US$1=W1,117).

The program provides accredited nannies to visit and take care of children between three months and 12 years for families with a household income below 60 percent of median income.
