KBS’ New Stunt Variety Show “Lady Action” Confirms Final Cast Lineup Related
Actresses Lee Si Young, Choi Yeo Jin, and Kim Hyun Joo have been confirmed as cast members of KBS2TVs upcoming variety show Lady Action.
The casting news was confirmed by Go Se Joon PD on March 30. According to the producer, they are currently looking to cast three more actresses for the show, and are in the midst of negotiations with candidates.
Lady Action will follow actresses as they learn everything about action stunts. After the stars acquire sufficient skills through the variety show, KBS2TV is planning to produce a movie featuring the six actresses.
Meanwhile, some have been criticizing KBS2TV for copying the concept of MBCs physically demanding Real Men and its popular Female Soldier Special. The channel previously launched its own parenting variety show Superman Returns after witnessing the success of MBCs Dad! Where Are We Going? which made viewers question the originality of KBS2TVs program ideas.
The first episode of Lady Action is set to air on April 29 at 11 p.m.
Ahn Jae Hyun Talks About "Fashion King"
He"s young to be typecast but already Ahn Jae Hyun has played the same kind of character more than once. His characters in "My Love Who Came From Another Star" and the film "Fashion King" could be described as difficult. When in reality, the model-turned-actor is anything but hard to get along with.
In a recent interview with Ilgan Sports, he spoke about the fact that he sometimes comes across like those characters.
"I"m an easygoing person, but I often hear people say that I am arrogant on first impression," he said. "I guess that"s part of my character but one thing is sure. Once I become friends with someone, I"m not arrogant."
In "You Who Came From The Stars," he played Jun Ji Hyun"s difficult to please younger brother. In "Fashion King" he is Kim Won Ho, the most stylish boy in school and Joo Won"s rival for the most stylish girl in school, played by Park Se Young. Won Ho is not just the most fashionable boy in school; he is also the toughest fighter.
Ahn Jae Hyun has fashion experience to draw on in that he modeled before turning to acting. He strode down the runway, did editorial magazine work for the likes of Vogue, W Korea and Homme. He shot a few commercials. While the 27-year-old actor is not just another pretty face, he is not concerned about the model-turned-actor label.
"I like that label because it is a way of showing people that I lived my younger days in a diligent way," he told Ilgan Sports. "It"s like a name card that explains my past. What matters is showing what I can do better in the future, not the past."
But he recognizes that he still has a long way to go before people take him seriously as an actor. His co-stars have helped him develop his talent. He credits Kim Soo Hyun, his "You Who Came From The Stars" co-star as helping him, calling the actor his motivator and role model. He also credits his "Fashion King" co-star Joo Won with being talented and helping him.
And although he does not mind having played two difficult characters, he hopes he gets to play a wide range of roles. This year Ahn Jae Hyun also appears in the film "The Wedding Bible" and he recently played a detective in the police drama "You"re All Surrounded."
On August 6, the launching show "2014 S/S GRAND LAUNCH" for WINNER"s debut album took place at the Grand Ballroom at the Conrad Seoul Hotel where Yang Hyun Suk spoke about his future plans for the group in front of the media.
He said, "Kang Seung Yoon appeared on MBC sitcom "High Kick 3," and I thought he was good at acting. Honestly, I think YG is branded as a company that is immensely tight fisted when it comes to variety programs. There was that tendency in the cases of Big Bang and 2NE1.
For WINNER, I want to open more pathways. In the case of Jinwoo, he practiced acting for many years in YG and I am considering how it would be if he acted as a part of his personal activities. Taking off the YG veil up to now, WINNER"s true career is singing, but it is their producer"s dream to guide all of their talents by opening them up to every opportunity."
As Park Bom appeared in SBS"s "Roommate," Yang Hyun Suk was asked, "Did Park Bom appear on variety because she personally wanted to?"
Yang Hyun Suk replied, "In Park Bom"s case, she was someone who was very funny in the reality program "2NE1 TV." Park Bom and Dara always expressed their wish to go on a lot of variety shows. I think that"s how she came to be on a program in which the camera follows her around. Dara says she wants to go on a lot of variety shows, but in my opinion, Dara isn"t that funny."
Are you excited to see the WINNER boys take on more than singing once they officially launch their career as an idol group?
