She showed her gratitude towards her agency by saying, “Thank you Pledis, for taking me in, even when I wasn’t ready, and helping my dreams come true. I will be working my hardest to become better, wherever I may be.”
A Pledis representative said, “It is true that our contract with Kahi has expired. Both sides decided to part since she has a field that she wants to focus on.”
Kahi made her debut as the leader of After School in 2009. After graduating from After School in 2011, she came back as a solo artist with the song “Comeback, You Bad Person.” Afterwards, she has been exploring the musical fields by starring in acts such as “Bonnie and Clyde” and “All Shook Up.”
Kahi updated After School fans about how she and Becca have been doing since leaving the group.
On her Instagram on July1, Kahi said, "My love. Finally we met. Love you forever."
In the picture, Kahi was together with Becca and smiling brightly at the camera. Despite the dark lighting, the two ex-After School members" perfect skins stood out.
In response, people said, "Becca, it"s been so long since we"ve seen you!" "I miss the old After School," "I will always cheer for you two."

Solo star Kahi has posted a photograph with fellow former After School band mate Bekah. The picture was uploaded to Kahi’s Instagram account on June 1 with the caption, “My Love. Finally we met. Love you forever.”
Bekah was one of the five original members of After School, along with Kahi, the former leader of the girl group. The group made their debut with the single album “New Schoolgirl” in January 2009, including the Brave Brothers-produced track “AH.”
In 2011, Bekah announced that she would be leaving the group in order to pursue a career in design, and moved to Hawaii. About a year later, Kahi also left the group, though she has continued to release music as a solo artist.
Kahi’s most recent release was the extended play “It’s Me,” while over a year has passed since After School had a hit with “First Love.”
Kahi spoke up about the time when she used to be BoA"s back up dancer and the creation of After School on the May 6 episode of Mnet"s "Beatles Code 3D".
On the show, past photos of her as BoA"s back up dancer were revealed. Kahi responded with some signs of embarrassment, "I think I was about 23-years-old. I was ugly."
She said, "I became known as "BoA"s dancer" while standing on stage with BoA. While BoA was preparing for her "Valenti" stage, the Japanese dancers were showing the Korean dancers the moves, but one Korean dancer was lacking; hence, they told me to come and help with the practice because they needed more people. I ended up working with BoA for three years."

Moving on to the subject of After School, MC Shin Dong Yup said, "I heard that you and your CEO worked really hard together to create After School."
She said, "While I was promoting in [previous group] S-Blush, Bekah was a trainee. Bekah was so sexy that the CEO strongly recommended her and brought her from Hawaii. Afterwards, we were introduced to and chose Jung Ah. Then we gathered Jooyeon and So Young for five (members)."
Shin Dong Yup asked, "Were you so affectionate that you made them assemble in the bathroom for important meetings?" Kahi replied, "No. Rather, I"m the type who says what I need to right then before going to the bathroom to think, "Was I too harsh?" and cry."
Kahi appeared as a guest on the May 6 installment of Mnet"s "Beatles Code 3D", MC Shindong asked her, "During the girl group outcast situation, what did you mean by the SNS post you wrote?"
When the Hwayoung and T-ara scandal was blowing up back in July of 2012, she had tweeted mysteriously, "Anyways... ha. not like other people." With the announcement of her graduation from After School just the month prior, some netizens at the time speculated that the tweet hinted at some hidden turmoil resulting in her exiting from the group. She explained, "I didn"t write that because I experienced something like that, but because everything that happens within girl groups is different from what happens with others."

Shindong asked, "Do outcasts exist in girl groups?" Kahi replied, "Of course. There are those who make a big deal out of various things and are unlucky for everyone else, those who deserve to get hit, and those who need to get their heads on straight. There are those who really deserve to be treated affectionately, but how can I be affectionate towards those that make things unlucky?"
Mir asked, "Even in After School?" Kahi replied just as honestly, "In every group. Even in After School, there are those members whom you can"t help but love, but there are also those who do not have a presence. At the time, I was the leader and about to graduate After School. I had mixed emotions and felt pity. I wrote [that post] when I was feeling that way."
Shindong, Mir, and the other MCs expressed how refreshing it was to hear her honesty.
