Jung So Min and Lee Joon’s kiss scene in ‘The Weird Father’ under review for portraying sexual harassment

Jung So Min and Lee Joon’s kiss scene in KBS 2TV weekend drama ‘The Weird Father’ is under review by the Korea Communications Standards Commission.

On the June 11 episode, a scene showed the producers demanding Byun Min Young (Jung So Min) to kiss Ahn Joong Hee (Lee Joon) on the cheeks and on the lips as he needed lip prints for filming.

Many viewers found the scene uncomfortable and even named it sexual harassment as the two characters were forced to kiss at a workplace. Some viewers also filed complaints about the relationship between the two characters. Viewers are aware of the secret behind their births, however, Byun Min Young and Ahn Joong Hee believe they’re stepsister and stepbrother in the drama.

The scene was ultimately sent to be reviewed by the Korea Communications Standards Commission.

In response to the complaints, Bae Kyung Soo CP of ‘The Weird Father’ also assured viewers with the statement, “In the drama, the two characters believe they’re step-siblings, however, they will start dating in a normal relationship knowing they’re unrelated and not step-siblings.”
