Upcoming historical action film The Swordsman (literal translation) has confirmed its cast!
The film confirmed its main cast members Jang Hyuk, Jung Man Sik, Joe Taslim, Choi Jin Ho, Kim Hyun Soo, Jang Hyun Sung, and BTOBs Lee Minhyuk and began filming on June 15.
The Swordsman explores the stories of swordsmen in Joseon during the Ming-Qing transition period.
Jang Hyuk will be playing the role of Tae Yool, a swordsman holding onto secrets from the past. Indonesian actor Joe Taslim is starring in his first Korean film as a cold-hearted commander of the Qing dynasty.
Choi Jin Ho will play Lee Mok Yo, Kim Hyun Soo will be Tae Yools daughter Tae Ok, and Jang Hyun Sung stars as the king. Lee Minhyuk is also making his big screen debut as the kings bodyguard Kyeom Sa Bok.
The actors have been training in martial arts and horseback riding for four months now, before filming took off.
