SNSDs Sooyoung Wasnt Satisfied With 2012 Japan Promotions

Girls’ Generation (SNSD) was featured on the March 24 broadcast of MBS documentary program Jounetsu-Tairiku, where member Sooyoung expressed her disappointment at the group’s Japan promotions in Japan.

SNSD’s Sooyoung Wasn’t Satisfied With 2012 Japan Promotions

Jounetsu-Tairiku is a popular documentary program in Japan that follows a celebrity or famous figure around for 100 days up to one year. Not only did SNSD cross over to Japan and rise to top star status before the hallyu boom took over the country, it is the first Korean group to appear on the show.

On the show, SNSD was introduced as having made its debut in Japan three years ago and received a lot of love with its first album, which went on to become a million seller. Not only was its hit song Gee parodied on various Japanese programs, SNSD was the first Korean girl group to appear at Japan’s famous year-end NHK RedWhite Song Battle alongside Kara in 2011.

Although SNSD released a number of singles in 2012, it wasn’t able to promote as much as it had in years past. The Dokdo controversy and pending diplomacy issues swelled in the summer of 2012, diminishing opportunities for Korean artists to appear on Japanese programs.

When asked if she was satisfied with the group’s promotions in 2012, Sooyoung said, “I’m not particularly satisfied. In addition to variety, I wanted to challenge myself more with different things in Japan, but I wasn’t able to. The members’ personalities are really bright, but we didn’t have the opportunity to show it. I thought that it would’ve been nice if we had been able to show those sides.”

The episode also shows scenes of the SNSD members preparing for their Japan arena tour as well their promotions for Korean album I Got a Boy.

SNSD"s Yoona, Park Shin Hye and More Go Goddess for the 2012 KBS Drama Awards

Celebrating the top drama acts of the year, KBS held its annual Drama Awards on December 31, in Yeouido, Seoul.

The 2012 KBS Drama Awards brought out a slew of talented women, and even awarded the Daesang (Grand Prize) to none other than Kim Nam Ju, for her work in Unexpected You

Jo Yoon Hee, winner of the Supporting Actress Award kept it simple in a bride-like grecian gown.

Lee Yubi also went bridal - but not so simple.

Park Jung Ah switched things up and headed in the opposite direction - funeral, anyone?

Wang Ji Hye finds a happy medium, with her black and beige dress.

Girls′ Generation′s Yoona, winner of the Netizen Popularity Award decided to embrace her inner princess.

Park Shin Hye, winner of the One-Act Play Award, also of the white-non-wedding dress.

Lee Bo Young, winner of the Excellence Award for a medium-length series, apparently also got the memo about wearing white.

Jin Se Yeon, winner of the Rookie Award (along with Oh Yeon Seo, Lee Hee Joon and Lee Jong Seok)

Oh Yeon Seo, another Rookie Award winner, vamped it up in protest of all the bridal looks. (Perhaps because she′s already ′married′?

Kim Nam Ju, the big winner of the night!

Moon Chae Won, another winner of the Netizen Popularity Award (along with co-star Song Joong Ki and SNSD′s Yoona), as well as the winner of the Best Excellence Award (with Song Joong Ki and Yu Jun Sang), and the Best Couple Award (also with Song Joong Ki). Whew! Guess it pays to work with Song Joong Ki.

Park Si Yeon, the mean girl to Moon Chae Won′s nice.

miss A′s Suzy, winner of the Popularity Award, keeps it sweet but not saccharine with her take on the LBD.
