Following last years successful season 1 of the Idol drama Dream High, SM Entertainment has joined the production of the KBS drama for its season 2 launch. Word is SM wanted in very badly.
Season 1 of Dream High was produced in collaboration between JYP Entertainment and Keyeast (Founder actor Bae Yong Joon). The joining of SM means there are now 3 major players in the Asian entertainment industry that will work together to produce the drama. Its an exciting development and one in which will only increase the production quality. Personal relationships between the head of SM and JYP played a big role in making this joint venture come true. The head of SM Kim Young Min and JYPs Jung Wook are known to be good friends.
Dream High season 2 will be directed by Lee Eung Bok PD, who also took charge of season 1 and it will premier around the winter vacation time to boost its ratings with the natural increase in teen viewership. Now the suspense is behind the cast members of season 2. Season 1s cast included actor Kim Soo Hyun, 2PMs Taecyeon and Wooyoung, Miss As Suzy, IU, and T-aras Eunjung. With SM in the picture the potential cast members include TVXQ, SNSD, Super Junior, Shinee, and f(x). With this fantastic lineup the cast of season will be star-filled to say the least.
The cast members of season 1s Dream High will hold the Dream High Premium Event 2011 in Japan Saitama Super Arena on September 4th. This event is to celebrate the release of the DVD of the drama. Dream High aired on TBS channel in Japan and it was a big hit in there as well.
