March's last week brings along another set of Japanese releases by Korean artists with singles by Supernova, Boyfriend, MBLAQ, FT Island, and KARA, as well as MYNAME's first full length album.
Supernova snatched a 2nd place on the daily single ranking after selling 39,656 copies of their newest single, "Dakishimetai." KARA follows suit, selling about 25,552 copies of "Bye Bye Happy Days," and closing the top three. Fourth place goes to FT Island's "You Are My Life," while the top five is concluded with the addition of Boyfriend's "Hitomi no Melody." MBLAQ's Japanese version of "Mona Lisa" came in on the 8th place.
The daily album chart only has one Korean artist this week, as MYNAME released their first Japanese full length album "WE ARE MYNAME
South Korean boygroup, BOYFRIEND recently released a short version PV of their new Japanese single, “Hitomi no Melody”. In the PV, the members showcased their handsome and boy-next-door image by wearing suits as they danced, wearing casual clothing and acting cute and adorable.
This will be the group’s 3rd Japanese single. The album will be released on the 27th of March and it was revealed that thing song will be the ending theme of “Detective Conan” which airs every Saturday on Yomiuri Nippon Television.
Boyfriend has proved that it might have what it takes to become the next big K-pop act in Japan.
Despite having debuted less than a year ago, the boy band held two "hi-touch", events (the word refers to a high-five in Japan) at Kobe World Memorial Hall and then at the Saitama Super Arena from Dec. 1 to 2.
The event was held to mark the launch of the group's second Japanese album "Kimi to Dance Dance Dance/ My Lady". It was No. 3 on the Oricon weekly chart on Dec. 4.
At the fan meet event, in which fans get to say "Hi" and shake hands with the band members, the group said it was stoked at the opportunity.
"To be able to hold a fan meet at such a large venue is just amazing. Thank you so much", said the group.
The group will hold a solo Christmas showcase from Dec. 22 to 24 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall
Idol group Boyfriend, who expanded its career into the Japanese music market earlier this year, will be making a comeback in the country with a new Japanese single this November.
According to the group’s Japanese official website, Boyfriend will roll out double A-side single ‘Dance Dance Dance with You / My Lady ~A Lover in Winter~’ on November 28th. With the title tune "Dance Dance Dance with You" featuring catchy and cheerful melodies, the album in overall captures romantic feeling.
Ahead of the release, audio teasers for the two Japanese tracks have been revealed via Boyfriend’s Japanese Youtube channel, giving fans a sneak peek of the upcoming tracks.

Currently promoting their latest track “Love Style”, Boyfriend will be making advancement into Japanese market. The group had signed an exclusive contract with Japanese management agency, ‘Bing’, and released special Japanese album “We Are Boyfriend” on June.
Boyfriend will official make their debut in Japan this August with first Japanese single “Be My Shine”. The track is jointly composed by the domestic producer team Sweetune and popular Japanese composer Matsuikoro (松井五郞).

6-member idol group Boyfriend is currently in the spotlight as a rising K-Pop star of the next generation.
On June 20th, Boyfriend’s agency Starship Entertainment revealed that the Japanese version of “We Are Boyfriend” released on the 6th as a prelude to their official Japanese debut had climbed to #1 on Oricon‘s weekly Foreign Music Chart.
The album ‘We Are Boyfriend’ is a package of three singles that have been previously released in Korea.
“The fact that [Boyfriend] rose to the #1 slot on the Foreign Music Chart despite many Japanese fans already possessing a lot of Korean albums is quite meaningful, as it means a new fan base is broadly developing,” Starship said.

Boyfriend will begin their four days long debut premium showcase “First Date with Boyfriend in Japan” at the Budokan, Tokyo, Japan. The Budokan can hold up to 10,000 people in the audience simultaneously and with Boyfriend’s four days of performing at the Budokan, many experts are optimistically expecting to see four full houses in a row, gathering 40,000 fans. This is the largest scaled debut showcase for a Korean artist in Japan.
Previously, Boyfriend released limited edition album “We are Boyfriend” on June 6, topping Oricon Weekly chart on June 18 with the album. “We are Boyfriend” is a repackaged version of Boyfriend’s previous album in Korea. Starship Entertainment, Boyfriend’s agency, commented, “Although a lot of Japanese fans already have a copy or more of Boyfriend’s Korean album, we still managed to take the first place in the Oricon Weekly chart

We are BOYFRIEND is a limited edition album released in Japan, which combined three single albums of Boyfriend released in Korea. As of June 18, it topped the Oricon’s Weekly Chart.
Starship Entertainment, Boyfriend’s agency, says, “Although many Japanese fans already have Boyfriend’s Korean albums, Boyfriend’s limited edition album topped the Oricon’s weekly chart. We suppose it’s because there’s a large number of new fans of Boyfriend. We really appreciate.”
Boyfriend recently made a contract with Bing with the best offer for K-pop singers. Bing is the biggest Japanese agency, to which B’z, Zard, and Kuraki Mai belong
Following the release of their 1st mini-album, "Love Style," Boyfriend has revealed the complete music video for their title track.
The music video for "Love Style" was directed by the same person responsible for TVXQ's "Mirotic" and "Why (Keep Your Head Down," f(x)'s "Pinocchio (Danger)," and SHINee's "Sherlock (Clue+Note)."
Choreography for "Love Style" was created by Team DQ, who have worked with 4minute, MBLAQ, and Rain before, as well as Japanese idols AKB48 and Sakura Inoue.

Idol group Boyfriend will transform into flower boys for upcoming comeback!
On June 7th, Boyfriend’s agency, Starship Entertainment revealed comeback teaser image of the group. In the photo, Boyfriend members can be seen donning pastel toned floral print outfits, reminiscent of lovely flower boys.
Following the year-end single “I’ll Be There”, Boyfriend will be releasing their first mini album on June 14th which features a new change in image and musical style.
Meanwhile, Boyfriend released their special Japanese album “We Are BOYFRIEND” on June 6th and will hold its debut showcase at Budokan on June 30th.
