The people have spoken. In a ten-day long close battle for the Best Song of 2012, a winner emerges. There were essentially hundreds of songs to choose from, and a handful in the shortlist that KpopStarz ended up using, Xia Junsu's "Tarantallegra" bested the strongest of contenders, scoring a good lead with 28.33% votes. It is closely followed by TVXQ's most recent hit "Catch Me" with 26.72%.
"Tarantallegra" is the title and carrier single for JYJ Xia Junsu's first solo album and concert tour. It was released in the middle of the year, and was celebrated for its unique and unconventional approach to Xia Junsu's style. Still touting Junsu's raw and powerful vocals, the change-up in style was lauded by critics as being both edgy and simple -- a formula for a hit song made for the masses
On September 15, on the premiere of the 38th season of “Saturday Night Live,” rapper Psy’s hit single “Gangnam Style” was featured in a sketch and Psy even makes a cameo.
In a sketch entitled “Lids,” “Saturday Night Live” cast members Kenan Thompson, Jason Sudeikis, and host Seth MacFarlane are discontented employees working at a hat store called “Lids” who get cheered up by SNL cast member Bobby Moynihan coming out (as Psy) dancing to “Gangnam Style.”
Then, SNL cast members Taran Killam comes out as Yoo Jae Suk and Bill Hader comes out doing the pelvic thrust dance of comedian Noh Hong Chul.
Finally, Psy comes out at the end to an overwhelming audience response and masterfully shows how “Gangnam Style” is really done

Asia's star XIA Junsu announced the start of his world tour of North and South America.
Today, JYJ member Junsu attended the press conference for his World Tour at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton New York City-Times Square, 6th floor, Hudson Ballroom.
When asked about his thoughts about the start of his world tour, he replied, "I've performed here in NY with JYJ for a showcase, but this is the first time standing solo. I want to make a performance that fulfills the requests of my New York fans. I plan to perform my new song, Uncommitted as well as a song from my previous album, Tarantallegra, in English
Junsu, blue hair, English, and ladieeeez. Never thought I’d see those four things come together in the same context, but Junsu’s (or rather, XIA’s) latest MV has managed to prove otherwise.
At this point, the idea of JYJ’s Junsu engaging in solo work has become a rather familiar concept. Having released his first solo single, XIAH, in Japan two years ago, Junsu kicked his solo career back into gear with his more recent full-length album Tarantallegra earlier this year.
Now, Uncommitted marks Junsu’s first attempt at recording and releasing an English-language track — a move that was met with mild skepticism by critics (who are generally wary of any K-pop idol attempting anything in English) and fans (who still remember vividly the days of “I’m select” and “Oh My God Sun”) alike
JYJ member Kim Jun-su's first solo album topped the Chilean music chart last week. According to CJeS Entertainment on Friday, the singer's new album "Tarantallegra", released in May, topped the pop music chart on Chilean cable TV channel ETC-TV on Tuesday."It's the first time that a Korean singer has been ranked in the top 10", said a spokesperson for CJeS Entertainment.Kim said he was thrilled by the accomplishment and feels the international appreciation of his music brings with it a "responsibility" to continue pushing forward."The fact that Chile is so far from Korea makes this so remarkable", Kim said. "To think that I have fans who love me and my music over there - it makes me think I have a long way to go and a lot of responsibility on my shoulders".The 25-year-old star said that he attributed his world tour to the subsequent success of his album abroad
