Once upon a time, fans used to bring gifts to the taping of programs that featured their favorite stars, hoping the small bribe would help get them a seat in the audience. Today, however, the situation seems to have reversed, as stars prepare gifts for their fans to thank them for their support and time.
Case in point: girl group T-ara, who brought enough tteokboki, or spicy rice cakes, to serve 300 people lining up for a TV taping at SBS early Sunday morning. According to local reports, the thank-you snack wasn't even paid for by T-ara's management; rather, the group paid for the food themselves.
"We wanted to do something for fans who had to wait for a long time", the group said.
"We prepared enough so that fans waiting for other celebrities could also eat the food"
On October 13, T-ara make their 300 fans, who are waiting outside of Inkigayo, surprised.
T-ara entertained their fans and thanked them for coming early to watch Inkigayo pre-recording. They gave over 300 of their fans some snacks such as ricecakes and fishcakes.
The snacks were bought from members' own pockets and personally prepared the surprise. They stayed with their fans and interacted with them from 7-8:30 in the moring.
T-ara expressed, "Since then, we've get alot from our fans. Even simple, we wanted to do something in return to show our gratitude. Our fans and others as well, have hard time getting up this early in order to see our short performance, so we'd like to see them eat well today."

Big Bang's Seungri transformed into a chef on the Japanese network TBS's 'Sanma's Super Karakuri TV-Men's Cooking', which aired on the 30th. The dish was ttukgalbi. Seungri explained, "The name comes from the fact that the meat is soft like rice cake, it was a fancy dish enjoyed by kings."
Seungri was met with applause in the studio after the impressive feat from pounding the meat and cooking it to making the sauce, all the while with an apron on. The guests who tasted his cooking didn't hide their praise, saying, "It's delicious!"
Seungri is currently doing solo promotions on various entertainment programs in Japan. In November, he is scheduled to start a six-city tour with the other members. With a total of six cities and 15 performances, they are expected to draw in an audience of 720,000
Jason Mraz made a guest appearance on ‘SNL Korea‘ during his promotional trip in Korea and brought laughter with his Korean-style humor.
Jason Mraz made his first appearance on the show’s May 18 broadcast in which he performed hilarious covers of his songs and showed off his knowledge of Korean food. During one of the skits, comedian Ahn Young Min tried to get friendly with the singer-songwriter and asked Jason, “Do you want to eat ramen?”, to which Jason Mraz wittily answered, “I like tteok [rice cake] ramen”, hilariously revealing his love for the Korean staple snack.

Eunjung revealed that she can’t get herself to eat rice cakes in public after the bullying rumors.
T-ara N4 were guests of an recent episode of ‘Beatles Code 2‘ where they opened up about their past happenings in detail for the first time. On the topic of bullying ‘evidence’ and the immense amount of photos and video clips that circulated the web, Eunjung discussed the video of her ‘force feeding’ Hwayoung rice cake. She was even given the nickname ‘rice-cake Eunjung’ because of the video.

T-ara’s Eunjung revealed her New Year’s resolution on this morning’s episode of SBS’s “Good Morning.” Eunjung stated, “As I get a year older, I hope to become more mature and careful. I also hope to look after people who are around me.”
On February 9, the ladies of T-ara hosted an event in Bucheon, Kyeonggido, to celebrate the Lunar New Years with their fans. They personally served over a 1,000 servings of tteukguk (rice cake soup), donated 100 sacks of rice to a local orphanage, and spent quality time with 12 lucky children from the orphanage.
The children spent the day with T-ara, eating tteukguk together and receiving gifts. Soyeon commented, “They are so cute, so I wanted to give them cash gifts. I realized that I am now old enough to be handing out the cash gifts
On February 9, groups T-ara and SPEED held a special event at a restaurant in Bu Chun City. To approximately 1000 fans, they served rice cake soup, which is a traditional Korean dish often served on Lunar New Year.
In addition, these two groups donated 100 bags of rice and autographed CDs to an orphanage in Bu Chun City. As well, 12 children from this orphanage were invited to the restaurant to be served.
Netizens that heard about T-ara’s good deeds admired, “It is so nice of T-ara to hold a special event in this cold weather,” “Those children in the orphanage must have been very happy to meet T-ara members,” “If T-ara members made the dish, it probably tasted great.”
Meanwhile, T-ara will be leaving to Japan at the end of this month to promote their album
Label mates T-ara and SPEED performed a good deed for Lunar New Year by serving tteokguk (rice cake soup) to 1,000 people in need for their charity event. The event was held at Brilliant Chicken (Gilbalhan Chicken) in Bucheon on the 9th.

The two idol groups will serve rice cakes together at Brilliant Chicken (Gilbalhan Chicken) in Bucheon on February 9th at 6PM KST. Their agency stated, “We want to give the 100 sacks of rice we’ve received from fans to those in need.”
T-ara will be handing over the 100 bags of rice on the day of the event. They’ve also invited 12 children from the orphanage and plan to share rice cakes, take photos, and gift autographed CDs to them.
Last winter, the members of T-ara delivered rice, ramen, chicken, underwear, makeup, and other basic necessities to elderly persons living alone. They’ve previously donated necessities, dental services, and lunch to children with disabilities as well

T-ara decided to join the event, where Speed will treat people to rice cake soup on February 9 at 6:00 p.m. in Bucheon, before they will fly to Japan.
According to T-ara’s agency on February 6, T-ara has decided to donate one hundred rice bags that they received from their fans to the needy. The rice bags will be donated to a nursery and twelve kids from the nursery will be treated to rice cake soup by T-ara. The members will also take pictures with the kids and give them autographed CDs.”
T-ara has donated rice, ramen, chicken, underwear, cosmetic products, and more to the needy last year. The group also had time to do various volunteer works in the cold weather.
