by Dramabeans:

The morning after Sun realizes that his father signed the traitorous maengui document under the nickname Juk-pa, he sets out to see him wearing the grimmest of faces.

(Former) Prime Minister Kim Taek watches this with some satisfaction, having been the one to send the prince the anonymous Juk-pa tip. He calls it a warning to the king, essentially threatening to take him down with him. Nobody messes with Kim Taek and can expect to get away with it.

Before Sun has a chance to say anything, Yeongjo requests his company and takes him along to a visit to his mother’s grave. Yeongjo’s mother was a water maid who became Sukjong’s concubine (and the basis for the lead character in Dong-yi), and Yeongjo explains having been ashamed of that fact, as well as resentful. Had she remained a lowborn servant, that would have been one thing, but because she was elevated to such a lofty status in a strictly stratified society, Yeongjo suffered constant disdain for her origins....

His captor is a sharply-dressed man whom Woong-chul recognizes and shows deference to: “H-hyung-nim.” Interesting.

Yoo-jin arrives at the rehearsal room to find the S Orchestra in the throes of despair, after seeing a recording of the A Orchestra and realizing they’re about to get spanked in the orchestra-off. Yoo-jin rips up Il-lac’s sheet music and states the cold hard truth: Of course A Orchestra’s better, as they comprise the school’s elite and have worked much harder than the S Orchestra has in a few short weeks.

Il-lac asks indignantly if he’s suggesting that they quit because they’re going to lose anyway, and Yoo-jin replies that it’s better than facing public humiliation. Hm, this isn’t going the way I was expecting, although you can’t argue that Yoo-jin’s comments have truth to them....

Thanks, Dad.

Sun answers diplomatically that he doesn’t even give enough time to his family as it is, and can’t handle taking on a consort. Yeongjo laughs and notes that he didn’t really consider Hyegyeong’s feelings, as if he weren’t doing all this on purpose....

Never trust anyone.

That’s what a bespectacled schoolteacher writes on the board for his class (in English) as he translates for added emphasis: “Never trust anyone. Never. Trust. Anyone.

Why, he asks? Because humans are natural born liars. According to him, the average person will hear two hundred lies in a day—and when his students don’t believe him, he sets to prove it with a tally counter in hand.

He poses questions that can be answered by a simple yes or no, and in this case by a student raising their hands if the statements spoken apply to them. Things like whether they’ve cheated on exams, or stolen money—and instantly, the teacher is able to pinpoint who isn’t being forthcoming by studying telltale changes in their behavior when avoiding the truth....
