The last week in K-pop was one of the most eventful yet in terms of K-pop comebacks and K-drama debuts (not scandals, thank goodness). It was one of the hardest weeks ever to pick 5 things recently. There did seem to have a recurring theme to the past week though, one of second chances, which is what helped pave the way for this edition of 5 Things.

It was another eventful week in K-pop — really, what is it about K-pop and eventful weeks in 2014? Friendships were tested, heroes were made, legends returned, loves were lost and found and the weary returned home. The following are the top 5 Things I Loved in K-pop last week. If you’re not up-to-date with your K-pop, beware because spoilers most definitely will arise.

On October 10, Korean rock duo TOXIC released the mini album “Time.” “Time” is a follow up to their May 2014 single release “Satellite.”
TOXIC were the winners of the inaugural season of the KBS2 music competition program “Top Band.” Since there are only two members in TOXIC, the duo is unique when facing off against other Korean rock acts.
TOXIC member Kim Jung Woo is responsible for the main vocals, guitar, and keyboards while Kim Seul Ong provides backup vocals, as well as drumming....

Last week in K-pop wasn’t as eventful as this week started off to be, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t a lot of things to love. And with possible signs of the K-popcalypse — come on, what’s with 2014 in K-pop — we might as well enjoy as much of it as possible while we still can. The following are the top 5 Things I LOVED in K-pop last week.

Krystal showed off her sweet and lovely personality for recent CFs with “Etude” cosmetics that also feature the handsome model, Nam Joo Hyuk.
The CFs feature the pink and girly ambience characteristic of “Etude” as Krystal shows off the new “Dear My Wish” lipstick line. The lipsticks are almost like a magic wand of sorts that transform her looks as shown through the outfit changes in the video–and boy, do they come in handy for romantic situations! ...

Who doesn’t love Running Man nowadays? Not only can you get a huge laugh from the main casts’ antics, but when other guests are invited to the popular variety Sunday show, all bets are off.
The non-scripted variety show has invited hundreds of guests ranging from comedians, actors, singers, idols, Jackie Chan and more, revealing their shenanigans through each missions and of course, their talent in the popular “Name Tag” game!
But being on Running Man is not always just fun and games… for MBLAQ“s Lee Joon in particular, it”s devastatingly scream-tastic. ...
On the August 30 broadcast of MBC’s variety program “We Got Married,” 2PM’s Wooyoung and actress Park Se Young took their virtual marriage one step further by displaying bold ‘skinship.’
During the episode, after Park Se Young poured cold water over Wooyoung’s back, the 2PM member playfully pulled his wife in for a tight hug.
The reason being, Wooyoung asked Park Se Young to stop pouring the water, however, the actress jokingly continued to do what she was doing. Upon realizing that she ignored his requests to stop the cold water, he wrapped his arms around Park Se Young, with his soaked body and even while shirtless. ...
Block B’s Zico performed his solo track for fans to enjoy on Mnet’s program, “4 Things Show”. The track, revealed for the first time through the program, showed Zico’s ease with rapping. His flow and power easily shone on the ridiculously beat. Check out the track below!
Block B”s Zico appeared on Mnet“s “4 Things Show” on August 26 and did a performance of his solo track, “Tough Cookie,” revealing it for the first time!
As usual, he is tough and charismatic as he raps with immense flow, ease, and power to this catchy hip hop track. Although short, it”s definitely worth the watch, so check it out above!
