Three dramas aired their final episodes last Thursday, May 24. SBS’ ‘Rooftop Prince’, KBS’ ‘The Equator Man’ and MBC’s ‘The King 2 Hearts all ended the same night, each wrapping up at the 20th episode.
The three dramas have been neck in neck in ratings during their three months of airing, and competition was stiff until the very end.
However, Park Yoo Chun and Han Ji Min’s fusion sageuk ‘Rooftop Prince’ came out on top, with a 14.8% share in TV ratings. ‘The Equator Man’, which starred Uhm Tae Woong and Lee Joon Hyuk was close behind, with 14.1%. Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won’s ‘The King 2 Hearts’ came in last, with 11.8%. Results were released by AGB Nielsen Media Research.

Unsurprisingly, KBS “The Equator Man,” starring Uhm Tae Woong and Lee Joon Hyuk, came in first yesterday night, recording 14.6% (AGB Nielsen). SBS “Rooftop Prince,” starring Park Yoo Chun and Han Ji Min, maintained its second place foothold with the same ratings as last Thursday’s, recording 11.6%. MBC “The King 2hearts,” starring Lee Seung Gi and Han Ji Min, is on its tail with a close 11.1%.
All three dramas will come to an end in two weeks, airing their final episodes on May 24. Joo Won and Shin Hyun Joon’s “The Man with the Seven Faces” will take over “The Equator Man’s” time slot, while So Ji Sub and Lee Yeon Hee’s “Ghost” will replace “Rooftop Prince

Ratings: KBS‘s ‘Equator Man‘ was still able to keep its first place position, while SBS‘s ‘Rooftop Prince‘ and MBC‘s ‘King 2 Hearts‘ battled for second place
Unsurprisingly, KBS “The Equator Man,” starring Uhm Tae Woong and Lee Joon Hyuk, maintained its title as the “king” of Wednesday nights. However, it did see a slight drop in the ratings, recording 14.7% (AGB Nielsen) last night. As reported last week, MBC “The King 2hearts,” starring Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won, and SBS “Rooftop Prince,” starring Park Yoo Chun and Han Ji Min, have been taking turns for the second and third place. For last night’s episode, “Rooftop Prince” fell behind “The King 2hearts,” recording 10.3%. The latter recorded 11.3%.
Both princely dramas are slated for 20 episodes, and it’s highly likely that the two will continue to go back and forth between second and third until its end
SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday series Rooftop Prince recently gave its number one rating to The Equator Man.
On April 19, according to AGB Nielsen Media Research, the episode of Rooftop Prince that aired on April 18 set a record of 11.4%. That is 1.1%p less than 12.5% that was set on April 12.
Apart from the dropped rating, the SBS series had to give their number one spot to raring to KBS2’s Wednesday-Thursday series The Equator Man.
In the episode, the kiss scene between Park Yoo Chun and Han Ji Min was broadcast for the first time since the kickoff of the series. The kiss scene came when Park Ha has to give breath mouth-to-mouth to Lee Gak, who is throwing up a dish of crabs. Moreover, Park teaches him how to drive and the duo gets even more closer

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research on April 13th, SBS’s “Rooftop Prince” received 12.5% for episode 7, there is no change in average viewership rating than previous episode but it reclaims the status as the most popular drama once again. MBC’s “The King 2 Hearts” which were aired 2 episodes back to back on April 12th scored 11% for episode 7, the rating dropped by 1

JYJ Park Yoo Chun’s Steady Rise vs. Lee Seung Gi’s Continual Decline: Who Will Reign Wed/Thurs Nights?
All three broadcasting stations premiered new Wed/Thurs dramas last week, and it’s been a tight race for the ratings both last week and this week. According to AGB Nielsen, SBS “Rooftop Prince,” starring JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun and Han Ji Min, rose 0.2% from the night before, recording 11.4% for its fourth episode. Since its premiere, “Rooftop Prince” has seen a steady increase in ratings, going from 9.8% for its pilot episode to 10.5% for its second to 11.2% for its third episode.
MBC “The King 2hearts” recorded 14.6%, a 0.8% drop. On March 29, fans were surprised to see a 2% dip in ratings for the third episode, going from 16.5% to 14.5%. At this rate, many are predicting that “Rooftop Prince” will gain ground and take the lead for the Wed/Thurs night race for the ratings
There seems to be a change happening on what will be the top drama on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
If we follow the statistics given by the AGB Neielson Media Research group, on March 28th, the ratings for MBC’s ‘The King 2 Hearts‘, SBS’s ‘Rooftop Prince’ and KBS2′s ‘The Equator Man‘ was 14.5%, 11.2% and 8.1% respectively.
On March 22nd, ‘The King 2 Hearts’ recorded a viewer ranking of 16.5% meaning it dropped 2% this week. ‘Rooftop Prince’ was at 10.5% last week meaning it saw a rise of .7%, and ‘The Equator Man’ had very similar numbers from last week.
