Singer G-Dragon of boy group Big Bang's first solo album, having just been released in Japan, hit second place on the Oricon weekly chart, according to his agency YG Entertainment yesterday.
The album, "Coup D'Etat", sold over 100,000 copies and has become the second most popular album in the first week of December.
On the newest record the singer included songs he first released in Korea on mini-albums "One of a Kind" in 2012 and "Heartbreaker" in 2009.
He also introduced the songs "Crooked", "Who You", and "Black" in Japanese. Park Bom of girl group 2NE1 also contributed her talents to the Japanese version of "Black".

In an unexpected placement, Girls’ Generation‘s “I Got a Boy” ranks at number five in the “Top 10 Songs of the Year” list by the prestigious American weekly news magazine Time. Time Magazine has run a “Top 10 of Everything” feature since 2008, ranking everything from news stories to t-shirt worthy slogans.
Time magazine wrote about the group and song, “The nine-woman South Korean group Girls’ Generation is a ridiculously effective hook machine, and a major phenomenon in Asia, whose biggest pop acts make One Direction and Katy Perry sound like audience-alienating avant-gardists. If you like songs that do everything at once, go straight to YouTube and call up the over-the-top video for this monomaniacally charming hybrid of bubblegum, dubstep and hard rock, whose Korean lyrics are sprinkled with incongruous English phrases (“Ayo, stop, let me put it down another way”)
Big Bang‘s leader and K-pop scene’s representative fashionista G-Dragon has proved once again that he holds the title for a reason.
On November 25, men’s fashion and style magazine GQ shared their list of “The 10 Best Dressed Men of the Week: 11.25.13” on their website. The article includes photos of ten fashionable male celebrities in stylish outfits, and one of the lucky chosen ones happens to be G-Dragon. His look is from the 2013 MNet Asian Music Awards, and the picture was taken on November 22. For his casual but cool outfit, the idol paired black leather shoes with light jeans, an oversized blazer, and a striped tank top. To finish off his look like a true celebrity, he sports a pair of hip sunglasses and a black cap.
G-Dragon is no stranger to Korean magazines on fashion or style, but being recognized by a global magazine is a significant achievement
