MBLAQ“s Mir surprised his “co-worker” KARA“s Gyuri on the recent airing of tvN “First Day of Work” with a sudden proposal of marriage!
On their first day of work as restaurant franchise company employees, Gyuri and Mir sat in a room awkwardly with Baekdusan“s Kim Do Kyun, waiting for the team leaders to go over with them some guidelines for working at the company.
While going through the benefits package of the company, it was mentioned that married couples will get a deposit of 500,000 KRW (~$500 USD) each. Hearing this, Mir”s ears perked up immediately and he suddenly turned to Gyuri to ask, “Noonim (noona), do you want to get married?” Gyuri bursted out into laughs as she herself asked a bit more details about the marriage compensation. ...
Never trust anyone.
That’s what a bespectacled schoolteacher writes on the board for his class (in English) as he translates for added emphasis: “Never trust anyone. Never. Trust. Anyone.”
Why, he asks? Because humans are natural born liars. According to him, the average person will hear two hundred lies in a day—and when his students don’t believe him, he sets to prove it with a tally counter in hand.
He poses questions that can be answered by a simple yes or no, and in this case by a student raising their hands if the statements spoken apply to them. Things like whether they’ve cheated on exams, or stolen money—and instantly, the teacher is able to pinpoint who isn’t being forthcoming by studying telltale changes in their behavior when avoiding the truth....
Geu-rae returns to the office to finish organizing the computer files, reminding himself that he’s here because he’s not a hard worker. He stays late into the night working on a new and improved file system — so late, in fact, that he doesn’t return home. In the morning, he washes up at a nearby jjimjilbang and puts on his father’s old suit, ready for another day of work.
As he’s entering the elevator to go back to the office, Young-yi hurries around the corner and Geu-rae holds the door for her. She’s surprised to see him there so early, but once she takes in his old suit and the way he asks about nearby dry cleaners, she realizes that he never went home last night. Spotting the necktie in his pocket, she reminds him that there’s a dress code that interns must follow, but Geu-rae confesses that he doesn’t know how to tie it....
Princess Hyegyeong stands up to the king… in that she kneels before the king, prepared to supplicate until he either reopens the prince’s murder investigation or she dies, whichever comes first. More to the point, she has her toddler son, San (future King Jeongjo), wailing at her side. Under her relentless appeals and the mounting pressure, Yeongjo finally comes out to face them.
He softens (thank god) at the sight of his bawling grandson, picking him up and soothing his tears with the promise, “Your grandfather was wrong and will take care of everything, so stop crying.” Hyegyeong secures a further promise that Yeongjo will reopen the investigation, then allows herself a tiny smile of relief....
After demonstrating that he’s the maestro who can take the same orchestra and create a completely different sound, Streseman kicks Yoo-jin out. Nae-il looks like she’s going to burst into tears right then and there, but Yoo-jin holds his ground and says that he has until tomorrow to prove himself—until then, this is still his orchestra.
Streseman agrees to their original terms, so Yoo-jin picks up his baton for one final rehearsal for Beethoven’s 3rd. No one looks happy to play for Yoo-jin, and again he senses that something is off....
When we last left off, Dal-hyang was about to turn into No-soo’s human pincushion after finding himself underneath the floorboards in Ingguldai’s room—but this hour begins by rewinding back to the point where Ingguldai first attacked Dal-hyang in a drug-fueled haze.
While a disguised No-soo had been sneaking around outside, Dal-hyang did his best to try and dodge the big swing we saw Ingguldai take before, the one that splashed blood back onto the general’s face. Now we see that he did in fact land a hit on Dal-hyang, but it could’ve been worse: He nicked Dal-hyang’s thigh when he probably meant to decapitate him....
