The cable channel show revealed its newest audition program The Voice of Korea Kids on September 26, which is scheduled to premiere in January of next year .
The Voice of Korea Kids is the kid version of the smash-hit singing competition show, The Voice of Korea and will only take in contestants ages 6 to 14 (born after November 1 of 1997 through October 31 of 2006) who can sing.
Chief producer Oh Kwang Suk explained how the show came to be saying, “While doing Superstar K and The Voice of Korea we met a lot of talented young friends and thinking that a program focused on them would be good, we decided to create this show.”
Similar to The Voice of Korea, in the preliminaries, kids will sing live for a panel of judges who will have their backs turned to the contestant so they can only judge on each contestant’s performance
On December 24th, Mnet’s “Voice Kids” held a Christmas party for the three coaches Yoon Sang, Seo In Young, and Yang Yoseob along with the young contestants.
Several photos from the party were recently revealed, showing the coaches and the children having fun in a room with Christmas tree and other bright decorations. They seemed to be having a great time together.
CP Oh Gwang Suk stated, “‘Voice Kids’ is to be a family show. Unlike the other audition programs, it will be heartwarming and appropriate for all ages.”
He added, “Yoon Sang will act as the father, Seo In Young as a teacher, and Yoseob as a kind older brother. The kids will grow and improve with unique coaching from these capable hands, and I hope the viewers look forward to it
Mnet has recently brought out a preview for the upcoming ‘Voice Korea Kids‘ (‘Voice Kids’ ), showing profiles of the three coaches/mentors, Yoon Sang, Seo In Young, and B2ST‘s Yoseob.
The three will be serving as mentors as well as judges for the contestants who range in age between 6-14.
In addition, former KBS announcer Jun Hyun Moo has been chosen to become the host of the show.
‘Voice Kids’ is set to premiere on January 4th!

On December 22, a short preview of the anticipated audition program for children was released. Yang Yo Seop, as one of the three judges, sang the ‘giyomee song,’ a song that shows an act of cuteness while doing addition problems.
The reason why Yang Yo Seop collapsed in embarrassment while singing will be revealed when the show premieres on January 4.
The other judges for The Voice of Kids include legendary producer, Yoon Sang, and fashionitsa, Seo In Young.

It has been announced that former KBS announcer Jun Hyun Moo has been appointed as the new MC of Mnet‘s ‘Voice Korea Kids‘ (‘Voice Kids’ for short).
Mnet’s Oh Kwang Suk PD confirmed, “Although ‘Voice Korea’ is a survival program, when you compare the contestants to those of other audition programs, rather than putting the pressure of competition at an early age, it focuses more on their dreams and talents. Announcer Jun has a careful and fair image, and showed his wit on various variety show. and its his friendly image that we agreed would suit the program very well”, revealing the reason behind the selection.
Jun Hyun Moo will be acting as an MC, joining the previously announced coaches of the show Yoon Sang, Seo In Young, and B2ST‘s Yoseob
It was reported on December 11th that the children’s version of “Voice of Korea” has selected BEAST‘s Yang Yoseob, Seo In Young and Yoon Sang to be the program’s coaches.
“Voice Kids” will only allow kids from 6 to 14 years of age to compete in order to find the one with the best voice. The coaches are required to give warm advices and support rather than the cold and harsh appearances they had in the adult’s version.
A staff member from Mnet stated, “We saw many young children with so much talent while we were working with ‘Super Star K‘ and ‘Voice of Korea.’ We thought it would be good to create a program that focused on them.”
The first episode of “Voice Kids” will be broadcast on January 4th, 2013
The three unique singers will be coaching and mentoring children from ages six to 14 in a nationwide competition to find new talent in Mnet’s Voice of Kids, a children’s version of the popular program, Voice of Korea.
“Voice of Kids coaches, Yoon Sang, Seo In Young, and Yang Yo Seop, are very unique and colorful artists who are acknowledged in their individuals fields of music in Korea,” stated Mnet CP, Oh Kwang Seok. “We believe that these three coaches, with their musical capabilities, will be a great help to the children who are dreaming of becoming artists themselves.”
CP Oh continued to say that during the first blind audition, Yoon Sang acted as a warm but stern father to the younger children, Seo In Young revealed she was good at coaching children, and Yang Yo Seop was like an older brother who led the filming atmosphere with a positive tone
