April was a great month for dramas with the completion of two popularseries and the advent of five strong new contenders for first place innightly viewing.
The month began with the dramatic finale to the compelling series, "That Winter The Wind Blows."
Viewers were fascinated with the tragic love story of a repentantgambler and a blind heiress. With the lovers' fate uncertain, the 16th and final episode of the highly rated melodrama, starring Jo In Sung and Song Hye Kyo, earned a 15.8 percent viewer rating.
"Iris 2" also finished early in April with a decent 10.2 percentrating. Although much anticipated, the sequel to the thriller "Iris" didnot finish as strongly as expected.
That same week, several new dramas premiered
In celebration of Soompi’s 15th birthday, I asked some of my favorite K-Entertainment bloggers to gift us with a “15-themed” post. Dramabeans is a K-Drama blog that needs no introduction, though you may not know that it was started by a Soompier who started recapping 2007′s “Dalja’s Spring” on our very own K-Drama forum. It’s since become the authoritative voice in K-Drama recapping and analysis, and is my go-to site for drama-related news. I hope you enjoy this special series! -soomp

This past Tuesday, I checked out the World IT Show (WIS) 2012 at COEX. It's a three day event, ending on Friday, May 18.
It was a good chance for me to see what's happening in the Korean IT industry all in one spot. Though there were a ton of things to see, I'll highlight just a few.
I started with the SK Telecom exhibit, where the company showcased its new technology from from LTE, telecommunications, and NFC to smart robots. It used a "carnival" theme that included several dance performances and clowns that created a lively setting.
One stand-out technology for me was their "smart ticketing" concept. It utilizes NFC technology to make checking out movie listings and prices, as well as paying much easier. The idea is that you place your phone against the NFC tag (as seen on the "smart poster" below)
