YG Entertainment Artists Dominate Billboard’s Chart for 2013’s Biggest-Selling K-Pop Songs in America
PSY landed three spots on Billboard’s chart for 2013’s Biggest-Selling K-Pop Songs in America. On December 19, Billboard’s Year-End World Digital Song Chart revealed the most popular K-Pop songs sold in America were PSY’s “Gangnam Style,” and “Gentleman,” respectively ranking in first and second on the chart.
‘Gangnam Style,” which was released last July and made PSY into a world star, remained the most downloaded song in 2013. “Right Now,” a track included in PSY’s fifth album which was released in 2010 also confirmed the singer’s popularity in America by landing the eighth spot on the chart.
In the No. 3 spot was Big Bang’s “Fantastic Baby,” and in forth was Girls’ Generation’s “I Got a Boy.” The No. 5 spot was filled by EXO’s “Growl
It seems that we don't have to wait much longer until PSY's next comeback.
On December 13th, YG Entertainment revealed that PSY finished recording for his new song a few days ago and he is currently in the process of filming his music video. And just like his previous releases "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman", PSY plans to continue introducing several songs afterwards.
Last year "Gangnam Style" became a world-wide craze as the music video exceeded 1.800.000.000 views which brought PSY the status "World Star". His later release "Gentleman" also became a big hit as the music video has over 600.000.000 views. He is receiving much attention and expectation whether he will live up to the success of his previous releases or not.
In addition, PSY will be having concerts from December 21 - 25 in Seoul Gymnastics Stadium

The Korean singer and rapper caught the attention of the international community in 2012 with his song "Gangnam Style", which went viral and became an instant hit.
"Gentleman" is currently the most watched K-pop music video on YouTube worldwide, the website operator announced earlier this week. YouTube said yesterday that the music video has been designated as one of the "Top Trending Music Videos of 2013".
Views for the video will soon exceed 600 million.
It is the second time Psy has been honored in that category. "Gangnam Style" previously catapulted him into the global spotlight.

Particularly notable is that like his previous single “Gentleman,” PSY plans to continuously come out with several songs. PSY and YG are also currently discussing the music videos for these other songs, as well.
The pressure is on to fill his own shoes, as his previous worldwide hit “Gangnam Style” is still at the number one spot for all time greatest number of views with 1,800,000,000 views, and his newer “Gentleman” is in fifth place with 600,000,000 views.

Psy's single "Gentleman" has become the most-viewed K-pop video on YouTube, just one year after his mega-hit "Gangnam Style" went viral and stole the same title in 2012.
YouTube revealed its list of the top 10 K-pop music videos of 2013 on Tuesday based on the number of hits they received from December 2012 until the end of last month.
"Gentleman" took the No. 1 spot with 600 million hits. It also recorded the highest number of clicks in a single day upon its release in early May, with the number rising to a whopping 1 billion within just four days.
Girls' Generation had three videos on the top 10 list, with "I Got a Boy" placing second, "Dancing Queen" fifth and "Galaxy Supernova" sixth.

The music video for "Gentleman", which was released in April, has about 600 million views. Psy received the same honor last year with his previous hit, "Gangnam Style".
Following in Psy's footsteps, Girls' Generation took second place with its song, "I Got a Boy". The group also has two other songs on the top 10 list, "Dancing Queen" and "Galaxy Supernova", proving that it is one of the most popular K-pop groups.
The boy group Exo received the third- and fourth-highest honors with "Growl" and "Wolf", while "Rum Pum Pum Pum" from girl group f(x) took seventh place

According to Youtube, PSY's 'Gentleman' MV is the most watched MV with a total of 600 million views since last April. It also holds the record as the fastest MV that reached 1 million views. PSY becomes the only artist that achieved this record for 2 consecutive years, after the release of 'Gangnam Style' in 2012.
The next one is Girls' Generation., with 'I Got A Boy' on no.2, 'Dancing Queen' came in no.5 and 'Galaxy Supernova' ranked no.6. With this record once again prove themselves as the no.1 girl group in Korea.

On December 10, YouTube released a list of top 10 most watched K-Pop music videos. According to this list, PSY’s “Gentleman” came in first with around 600 million views this year. Following his 2012 hit “Gangnam Style,” PSY’s “Gentleman” came out on top once again this year.
Right behind PSY came Girls’ Generation‘s “I Got a Boy” in second place. Girls’ Generation’s “Dancing Queen” ranked fifth and “Galaxy Supernova” ranked sixth, making three of their videos on the top 10 list.
EXO took third and fourth place with “Growl” and “Wolf,” f(x)‘s “Rum Pum Pum Pum” took seventh place, 2NE1‘s “Falling In Love” ranked ninth and 4minute‘s “What’s Your Name” came in at tenth place
World-renowned singer Psy is poised to return to the music scene, having decided on the main track for his new album.
"Already done with 3 songs and they are kinda nice", he wrote on his Twitter account in July, lifting his fans' expectations.
According to an official from YG Entertainment, Psy chose the main track after considering several songs, which had all been through thorough revisions. He has buckled down on recording, but a release date for the album has not yet been set.
"From the beginning, Psy never thought of taking advantage of his popularity from 'Gentleman' and 'Gangnam Style'," one of his aides said. "He is more prudent and more careful than before. It's true that his comeback is imminent, but nothing will be clear before all the work is done. Until he decides that it's perfect, there will be no release"
Psy's "Gentleman" ranks first on a list of the "Top 10 Viral Videos" compiled by TIME Magazine on Wednesday.
"Korean pop star Psy proved he was a rainmaker when he debuted 'Gentleman' in April", the U.S. weekly said. "Gentleman" is Psy's follow-up to his mega hit "Gangnam Style", and the video had 595.63 million clicks on YouTube as of Thursday.
TIME selected the best and worst in no fewer than 54 categories from areas like science, politics, pop culture and sports for its "Top 10 of Everything" for the year.
