More than 15000 fans turned up for the BIGBANG ALIVE GALAXY TOUR 2012 in Stadium Merdeka, Malaysia on 27th October 2012. This concert is the ninth stop of their world tour and is BIGBANG’s first full-fledged concert in Malaysia.
Despite the heavy rain before the concert started, nothing seemed to be able to dampen the mood and determination of the Malaysian fans for BIGBANG. Many refused to leave their spots and continued to wait under the rain especially for the fans that had queued up since 10am the day before the concert. Although the concert was forced to delay due to the continuous rain, it was definitely a miracle for the fans that it stopped raining the moment the concert started at 8:30 pm.
The boys kicked start the concert by emerging from five space capsules and performed several of their hit songs like “Tonight”, “Fantastic Baby”, “Bad Boy”, “Lies” and many more
What else was different that night from any other BIGBANG Alive Galaxy Tour 2012 stage, compared to their debut Indonesian stage on Friday (12/10)? G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, TOP, and Seungri may have finally arrived in tubes and wowed the crowd with spectacular live quality music, fanservice and high-style fashion costumes from fascinators to a star-patterned skirt, but there was one that caught our eye at the end of the night.
“Good night everyone! Thank you, Indonesia, we love you!” they repeatedly said both in English and Indonesian before disappearing out of the stage.
Fans couldn’t bear them to leave so soon, and more cheers erupted just before the last member on stage, Taeyang stayed, looked at the audience, and thought of doing something
Main director for “2012 BIGBANG Alive Tour” concert, Laurieann Gibson, praised BIGBANG.
At a press conference that was held on Friday she started, “I’ve worked with a lot of artists before, but when I first saw BIGBANG, I knew there was something special about them.”
She continued, “I’m so touched that BIGBANG members are really young but still so passionate and hard-working. In case of G-Dragon and TOP, they are very natural and talented. Seungri is even younger but very strong. Daesung is so passionate that the phrase ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll star’ suits him well. And finally, Taeyang reminded me of Michael Jackson.”
Laurieann also talked about the concept of the concert: “’Alive’ is a concept that I got the inspiration from the BIGBANG members
BIGBANG T.O.P shared his opinion regarding the life span of Idol groups.
On the February 26 episode of MBC "Section TV Entertainment Relay," the topic of the time left before idol groups break up was brought up.
BIGBANG answered questions about what were their feelings now that they passed the expiration date of typical idol groups which is usually around five years. The reporter asked, "You passed the five year life span of most idol groups. How do you feel about it?" Member T.O.P chose to answer the question. He replied, "[Even though we passed the five year mark] it still could happen."
To T.O.P' surprising answer Daesung commented, "I hope for us to be able to get through this year first."
