Hwang Jung Eum Explains Why She Left Sugar


Actress Hwang Jung Eum revealed why she withdrew from the girl group Sugar.

On the episode of KBS 2's "Star Life Theater" that airs on January 9, Hwang Jung Eum honestly talked about her reason for leaving the girl group Sugar.

She said that she disliked being called by and associated with the name "Ayumi and the kids," and that she disliked the way that she had lived during her Sugar days.

When Sugar debuted in 2002, Hwang Jung Eum was a young eighteen-year-old who had to hide herself while the other members outshined her.

In addition to this, she had responsibilities as a leader that deterred her from contacting her parents and eating what she wanted to. The training required strenuous physical exercise that made it difficult to maintain

Comedian and emcee Yoo Jae Suk's past regarding his mother was recently brought to light.

An article in the magazine "A Good Friend" contains information about the circumstances surrounding his mother when he was a child.

It was revealed that Yoo Jae Suk had had to move three times as a young student, and he had to adjust quickly. In sixth grade, he became class president. He recalled how his mother had seemed delighted yet uneasy at the same time. She had said, "Now that our Jae Suk is class president, I should introduce myself to the teacher and attend the PTA meetings as much as I can."

His mother could not greet the teacher with "empty hands" (it is custom for parents to bring gifts for their teachers) and the mother of the class president was expected to make donations to the PTA

On this episode of "Happy Together," actor Park Yong Woo shared an anecdote regarding Go Ara's eyes. "When I took a deep look at her eyes they seemed to be brown, but when I looked again they were more of a light brown. I really thought she was wearing circle lenses."

Following Hyorin and Sung Min, it looks like the second couple on MBC’s “Exciting Shake” is MBLAQ’s Lee Joon and After School’s Lizzy.

On January 5, local media reported the two as the second couple, quoting the training coach who appeared on the show with them. The trainer said, “Today, After School’s Lizzy and MBLAQ’s Lee Joon completed the intense filming session,” affirming their appearance on the show.

So far, the only other couple we’re aware of is Hyorin and Sung Min. Other female casts on the show include Kara’s Han Seung Yeon and Secret’s Han Sun Hwa. The rest of the male counterparts are unknown at this point.

Just a few days ago, we reported on Gil’s purchase of a thousand copies of Hyori’s charity calendars. It appears Jung Ryeo Won has joined the charity efforts by purchasing the same calendar as well!

On January 6, the star actress posted on her Twitter the following picture with the comment, “Finally, Hyobal unni+Soonshim’s 2012 calendar purchase shot! Everyone spend the year 2012 with Hyo+Soon!”

“Unni is so pretty, whatever angle I take my picture from, I’m just…” she added. In the picture, Jung Ryeo Won is seen holding the calendar Hyori made to raise awareness for abandoned animals. All proceeds from the sales will go towards helping abandoned animals and supporting animal shelters.

Infinite’s Fashion Photo Shoot for High Cut Magazine


With hit singles like “Be Mine” and “White Confession,” the boygroup Infinite has gathered so much popularity, that they have been called “Grand Idols.” Recently, these charming boys did a high-end photo shoot for the Korean style magazine, "High Cut."

The photo shoot includes eight different themes. The vocalist L wore a fur vest, looking intensely into the camera, while the rapper Dongwoo and vocalist Sungyeol posed more casually in neon colored outfits. Each member knew how to individually accentuate themselves, while interactively working as a good team.

The photographer of this shoot, Joo Yong Goon, praised their professionalism by stating, “I thought they were only singers, but I got the chance to see very different and new sides of each of them

Girl group KARA’s goddess and leader, Gyuri, revealed a selca picture of herself during Kōhaku Uta Gassen, Japanese network NHK's annual New Year's Eve music show.
