The Jindo ferry disaster, which so far has resulted in at least 28 deaths, has prompted four top Hallyu stars to request a postponement in promotional activities schedules for this weekend.

Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye were set to attend a three-day Hallyu Star Family Concert in Seoul this weekend but considering the tragedy, the stars asked to postpone the event. Lotte cancelled events for this weekend but insisted that today"s event, which was arranged for international fans must proceed as planned.

The stars" representatives officially requested a postponement, saying that the entire nation was in a state of grief and that to hold a concert in these circumstances would be inappropriate. The celebrities are following their conscience but Lotte remained firm in their stance. They said that many fans had flown into Korea for the event and would find it difficult to attend the event if it was postponed

Kim Soo Hyun-Jun Ji Hyun To Attend China Samsung Galaxy S5 Promotion Event

Actors Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun along with singers Sung Si Kyung and Lyn, will be attending the China Samsung Galaxy S5 promotion event.

Although they wanted to cancel the event due to the tragedy happening in Korea, they found that it was hard to cancel this particular event.

Samsung stated on April 18, "We wanted to delay the event due to the tragedy in Korea, but because this was an event in China, we found that it was hard to cancel it."

The event will take place as announced and they revealed that there were no specific changes made to the event.

This Chinese promotion focuses on the popular drama, "My Love From The Stars" due to its huge popularity in China.

Chinese Entertainment Site Votes Lee Min Ho The Biggest Hallyu Star

It"s no secret that Lee Min Ho is a well-loved actor in China but according to a recent survey he is the most popular Hallyu actor there.

In a survey conducted by the Chinese entertainment site Kugou, the star of "The Heirs earned 510,764 votes of 37 percent of the votes for his role as the conflicted chaebol Kim Tan. The survey asked voters to choose their favorite Hallyu star and the results reflect the ever-increasing popularity of k-dramas in China.

Since the drama aired, Lee Min Ho has acquired more than 20 million Weibo followers. The number of fans worldwide on his various social media accounts stands at 13 million Facebook and seven million online.

Lee Min Ho has been popular in China since he appeared as the spoiled Gun Jun Pyo in "Boys Over Flowers." His role as a man bent on revenge in the 2011 drama "City Hunter" further increased his popularity there but no one could have predicted how popular he would become as a result of his appearance in "The Heirs

The organizers behind “Lee.Bahl.Show” announced that they have decided to cancel the monthly concert due to the recent Jindo ferry tragedy.

On April 16, a ferry traveling from Incheon to Jeju Island carrying 475 passengers sank off the coast of Jindo. Over 300 of the passengers were students from Danwon High School in Ansan, taking a school trip.

Many in the entertainment industry are grieving with the rest of the nation. Some artists have quickly postponed their comebacks and concerts that were scheduled within the month while broadcasts have cancelled the airing of dramas, variety shows, and music programs.
