Girl group AOA will perform at the second annual meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank on Jeju Island on June 16.
They will be strutting their stuff in front of finance ministers and central bank governors from 77 countries.
Launched last year, the AIIB is a China-led investment bank that aims to rival the U.S.-dominated World Bank.
The government hopes AOA can help smooth ruffled feathers in relations between China and Korea.
“As they are enjoying huge popularity in Asia, their performance will impress from officials from China and Southeast Asia”, said Yoon Tae-sik of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance. “We hope they will help mend strained ties with China as well as lighten up the meeting”.
