New rapper XXXY drops 19+ rated debut MV for ‘Flower-Selling Woman’

New rapper XXXY"s (pronounced "jexy") has dropped his debut MV for "Flower-Selling Woman", which has already been rated as not fit for those under the age of 19!

The rookie worked with director Lim Seok Jin, the same man who worked with fellow hip hop artists, Phantom, Kanto, and Swings, to create a visually stunning MV that shows shocking imagery such as a woman with bright red lipstick bleeding in a bathtub.

His label, Big Foot Records, said regarding the release, "Even though his MV was rated 19+, please look for the quality of his MV. Please look after XXXY"s growth with fondness."

His debut song, which is the work of Wonderkid and 8Eight"s Baekchan, focuses on ambient sound, which isn"t so widespread in Korea but is prevalent all around the world

Beginning with a Bang, What It Means To Have a Breakout Debut Year: BTS Year End Review

BTS didn't officially debut in the Kpop music scene until halfway through the 2013 year, but they have definitely left their mark already. After winning their first award, having their showcase overseas, selling out official merchandise in less than 2 minutes, and releasing 2 albums, it is safe to say they have a bright future in Kpop.

On January 20th, BigHit released a Youtube video titled "School Of Tears" by BangtanSonyeondan. This wasn't the first hint BigHit gave of their new group, but it was the first full length song. The song was a cover of Kendrick's "Drank" and featured RapMonster, SUGA, and Jin.

A little over two weeks later, another video was released titled "Graduation Song" by BangtanSonyeondan, which turned out to be a cover of Wiz Kalifa's "Young, Wild and Free"

Superstar K4 Jung Joon Young – Can He Beat Superstar K3 Busker Busker?

Mnet "Superstar K4" finalist Jung Joon Young released his new song "Spotless Mind" today and is going head to head with "Superstar K3" runner-up Busker Busker. Since both the singers are from CJ E&M, their battle for the top spot is a hot issue.

"Spotless Mind" is trendy yet polished pop rock song that is accompanied by Jung Joon Young's explosive voice. There's high expectation for this song, thanks to his past year's activity in the entertainment world. Will he able to take that number 1 spot? If so, he's going to have to fight for it, since rock's popularity has been dwindling lately. Also, Busker Busker seems to have a very tight grip on the top spots of the music charts

Roundtable: Idol Solo Breakout!

Roundtable: Idol Solo Breakout!

“Solo” seems to be flavour of the month in K-pop, with CL finally getting the green light to go solo and SM just announcing a mystery male soloist. Funnily enough, the Seoulbeats team have also been discussing which idols they wish to see go it alone:

Amy: It’s still early but I definitely want to see Zelo go solo at one point (and I think he probably will!).

Shweta: Minzy because she’s horribly, horribly underrated. This “Halo” cover says it all:

Gaya: There’s something about the maknaes, isn’t there? I get the feeling that Taemin will go solo too, though I would love a Jonghyun release because he can bring the energy and drama that I crave from K-pop

Welcome back to For Your Viewing Pleasure, where we take the time out of the week to share with our readers some of the best and most recent photos tied to the K-pop landscape.

As we move into the month of May, fashion designers are starting to turn up the heat as they push their summer lines of clothing onto the market. It’s definitely starting to heat up on the sets of photo shoots as well, judging by the rising number of appearances of celebrities almost taking their clothes off in magazines or apparel ads…

On the live broadcast of SBS “Inkigayo” in the afternoon of the 12th, SNSD won the Mutizen Song which is equivalent to the No.1 place.

After their comeback on the 29th of June with “Tell Me Your Wish” from their second mini-album and occupying the No.1 place on KBS’s “Music Bank” on the 10th, they also stood at the top of SBS “Inkigayo”.

Saturday Morning K-Tube: Trolling, You’re Doing it Right

Closing in on the end of the first month of 2013, and most of us have probably already forgotten about our New Years Resolutions. Work hard, exercise, go out more often–it’s pretty much the same old pep talk you’ve given yourself in the past. And while it annoys our lazy souls to know that real change takes more than a few half-hearted words idly uttered on New Years day, at least there’s one resolution we’ll never have to consider seriously–being nicer to your friends. Pft.

That being said, here are some videos of our favorite Kpop idol role models teaching us an important lesson on friendship. Watch and laugh as they collaborate for pranks, troll each other to the point of confusion, scare each other into tears, and even attempt to destroy each others’ taste buds. Because you know you’re close with your friends when you can laugh out loud amidst plans of sabotage and death threats
