Photos of f(x)’s Sulli at the set of upcoming SBS drama “To the Beautiful You” have surfaced various online communities, piquing netizens’ interest. In the photos, Sulli is dressed casually in a loose jacket and shorts with her long hair falling gently to her side. However, in the second photo, Sulli is seen with a new shorter do, which have led netizens to assume that she has already undergone her disguise as a male student.

Based on the popular Japanese manga “Hana Kimi,” “To the Beautiful You” is the first TV drama produced by SM Entertainment’s new video contents division, SM Culture and Contents. Jeon Ki Sang, who is no stranger to producing dramas that are based on Japanese manga – having produced “Boys over Flowers” in 2009 – will direct the series.

The original manga had a Japanese drama version created in 2007 and a Taiwanese version produced in 2006. Both versions were extremely popular, and many fans internationally are showing great excitement and anticipation for the Korean remake. The story is about Mijukiga, an extreme fan girl of champion high-jumper Sano, who tries to make a comeback from a career-threatening injury. To help revive his career, Mijukiga impersonates a guy to attend Sano’s all boys high school.

In the Korean version, Mijukiga and Sano are renamed to Goo Jae Hee and Kang Tae Joon and will be played by Sulli and SHINee’s Minho respectively.

“To the Beautiful You” is scheduled to premiere on SBS sometime this August.
