A vote to choose dream bride and bridegroom candidates has been held for the “Icon chart” on the KBS Internet on the occasion of “Month of Family” in May.

In the ballot held under the title of “Shall we marry? Best Bridegroom and Bride,” U-Know Yunho of Dong Bang Shin Gi and Seohyun of Girls’ Generation were selected as the most popular man and woman, respectively.

Both had won the title in a contest titled “Best man and woman for date under the cherry blossoms!” the previous month.

In the latest ballot, U-Know Yunho garnered 19,778 votes and Seohyun 18,302 votes – enough to win the titles. Onew of Shinee and Taeyeon provided strong competition right into up to the last minute, but both ended up ranking second.

In the men’s category, Max Changmin ranked in third place, followed by Baek Chung-kang, Eric of Shinhwa, June Yong-hwa of CN Blue, Shinyou, Kim Hyun-joong and Park Yoo-chun of JYJ.

Members of Kara and Girls’ Generation nearly swept the women’s category.

Sunny of Girls’ Generation ranked in the third, followed by Goo Hara, Yuna, Tiffany, both members of Girls’ Generation, followed by Han Seungyeon, Park Gyuri, both of Kara, and then Geumjandi and Kang Jiyoung of Kara.

The online vote for the May icon chart was held between May 16 and May 31. Voters registered the names of celebrities they liked and left messages.

In the contest, various methods such as twitter and facebook as well as the members’ area of the KBS internet homepage were used in order to attract more foreign fans to the ballot. Online readers’ preferences will be surveyed every month under different themes and will be shown on the icon chart.
